Very special old house! Wonderful views! Infinity pool! Five bedrooms! and five bathrooms! This stunning large Mas is simply wonderful. Within walking distance of one of Provence's most popular villages, yet in a rural location it has outstanding views.
From its large landscaped garden the 180 degree views stretch over the vineyards and woodlands of the beautiful Vaucluse Plateau with the sun rising over Mt. Ventoux and setting over the Dentelles de Montmirail. A short drive away is the bustling town of Carpentras and the colourful city of Avignon.
The house faces south overlooking the large, paved ‘dining’ patio, upper garden and infinity swimming pool (14.5 x 5 metres).
With the exception of two bathrooms every room in the main house faces southwards towards the views and the ground floor bedroom, has direct access via French doors to the patio and pool area.
Flop House is well equipped and furnished in a contemporary, elegant style. It’s a light, spacious house of character in a beautiful setting and only a few minutes drive from the lively (at least in summer!) village of Bedouin with it’s cafes, market, shops, restaurants and summer concerts. One big attraction is that by walking down a quiet lane, directly from the house, it only takes 12 minutes to reach the centre of the village.
The surrounding area offers many natural and historical attractions There are fetes, festivals and markets in abundance; music and opera events; dazzling lavender and sunflower fields and vineyards synonymous with Provence; varied sporting activities such as canoeing, cycling, flying, golf, horse riding, quad biking, tennis, and walking The gastronomic restaurants and many excellent local wines complete the perfect holiday experience.

Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Bedoin
We fell in love with Provence whilst on holiday, and spent a number of years looking for the perfect property, an old house, near a pretty village with stunning views and good walking, which was central to all the delights of Provence. As interior designers we wanted something that was untouched, which gave us a blank canvas to create the sort of stunning house we ourselves would require for the perfect French experience. As most of our holidaymakers return year after year we hope we have achieved this.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Fantastic views, wonderful old market villages, vineyards for wine tasting and numerous outdoor activities, plus it is a cycling mecca being on the route of the Tour de France. The world famous antique market at Isle sur La Sorgue is a short distance away, as are the Roman ruins, at Orange, Arle, and Aix en Provence. The Papal city of Avignon with its long summer arts festival, and the world famous opera season at Orange, is also close by. There is a different market everyday and the food of Provence is divine, as are the numerous restaurants.

We can't recommend The Flop House highly enough! We spent the most incredible week there in Sept 2011. The house is very tastefully decorated and immaculately presented which makes the initial arrival a real wow moment. It's actually better than the photo's, which were enticing enough! It also felt so easy to kick back & relax into it, a real family house and not just a rental. The outside terrace table is sooo great for all the communal meals and the pool has incredible views of Mont Ventoux & easily spacious enough for everyone. We were married at Crillon La Brave nearby & the Flop House transformed perfectly into a reception venue & then slipped back into holiday home luxury the next day. We all loved Bedoin too, which is far less stuffy than other areas of Provence. It's got a brilliant, bustling, weekly market and also works as a great base for exploring the region - which is our favourite area we've discovered in France so far. You can drive to Bedoin in 4 mins but we often preferred walking down the tiny lane at the bottom of the garden...through the vines. It takes about 15 mins. Maddy & Richard were such friendly & helpful owners. Nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail in The Flop House gives it a real edge in our opinion. Funnily enough... we can't wait to return!!!
