Located on Bayou Phillip which connects to the Jourdan River and the beautiful Bay of Saint Louis, this house is the perfect place for fishermen. A great public boat lauch is available at the end of the street. Moor your boat at the dock behind the house and the open water is only a short distance from the house. Redfish, speckled trout and flounder are abundant in the bay. There is a public boat lauch at Bayou Caddy located by the Silver Slipper. Trailer your boat to that launch, and spend the day fishing the reefs and bayous nearby. The boat launch and parking is free. The Louisiana marsh and Cat Island are just a short distance from the bay and offer some of the best fishing in the South.
The house is on a dead end street. Plenty or room underneath the house to park your vehicle or just relax and enjoy grilling outside. It has a small deck on the back for watching a wonderful morning sunrise and there is always a breeze in the evening.
There are three bedrooms...two queen beds on the first floor, one full bed, two twin beds, and washer and dryer upstairs. The house has three full bathrooms.
Minutes from restaurants, shopping, Silver Slipper casino & Hollywood Casino, golfing at The Bridges Golf Club an Arnold Palmer signature championship golf course, tennis, boating, bilke trails, Antique shopping, Art Galleries, Canoeing (contact Wolf River Canoes at their website), swimming and fishing. Gulfport is only 20 minutes where you will find a great Children's museum and the Gulf Islands Waterpark - the largest waterpark on the coast, featuring wild rides, miles of slides and cool summer fun for all ages. New Orleans is about an hour away where you can visit the Historic French Quarter, Aquarium of the Americas, IMAX Theater, Audubon Zoo, Famous New Orleans Restaurants or take a cruise on a paddlewheeler. Bay Saint Louis and Waveland have many interesting shops, so plan to explore the area and see what we have to offer! If you would like more information about things to do in Bay Saint Louis, please visit the Bay Saint Louis City website.
Not interested in boating or fishing? This is a great palce to just relax and enjoy the coast. Come enjoy great food, casinos, shopping, golf or just stay put with a good book or movie. The beach is wonderful! Call or email with any questions about the property or other area activities and we'll be happy to help.
If you are interested in monthly rates, please give us a call.
Small, well mannered pets are welcome. There is a section of the beach near the Silver Slipper Casino that is pet friendly. Please advise us if you are bringing your pet and if your pet is over 25 pounds. Be considerate of the next guests......SCOOP THE POOP!

The neighborhood dog, Morris, is very intimidating even if he is benign. His charging the fence and barking was not welcome. Also the odor accompanying the water was somewhat unexpected and off putting. Other than these points the house was fine and the stay was relaxed and peaceful.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks for your review. We do expect to be on the city water system in the near future. However, even the city water has an unpleasant odor and taste.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. We are a large family there was plenty of space for everyone. The upstairs bedroom even had extra room for a queen sized air mattress. My girls enjoyed fishing off the back deck. The newly added outdoor living room and grill were wonderful and are not pictured currently. There is tons of space for everyone to relax! The kitchen was well stocked (there were 8 of us) and we had plenty of cookware and dishes. My only suggestion would be a sectional sofa for the living room. The current loveseat and chair only seat 3, and that made it difficult for us to have family movie night. A sectional would give enough seating for everyone. Overall we hope to come back to visit and rent this house again. It truly is about 5 minutes from beachfront and 40 minutes from New Orleans. I highly recommend visiting Ship Island Excursions in Gulfport (about a 15-20 min drive), and the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center (if you have children under 10). We also enjoyed a visit to IMMS, the dolphin rescue. I hope others will read this review and find a wonderful rental at an awesome price. I look forward to visiting again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed at this house for a recent fishing trip. It's well designed for fishing. This rental has a U-shaped gravel driveway which made maneuvering the boat much easier. We just pulled the boat around the driveway instead of backing it in from the road. The house had an electrical outlet downstairs for charging the trolling motor battery between trips. Under the house, there was a covered area with a large sink for cleaning fish and a garden hose for rinsing the boat and motor. The owner was extremely helpful with fishing advice. In the evenings, we sat on the porch with our dog. The wrap around porch was fully enclosed which kept our dog confined while we enjoyed a glass of wine. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed for cooking. The only thing that we missed was a DVD player for the downstairs TV.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers.

What a beautiful home! Thank you for sharing it. We lost our camp to Katrina - coming here brought back beautiful memories. We skied all day and enjoyed the porch in the evening. We won't be rebuilding but can hopefully come here 2 or 3 times a year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: We are native Mississippians. We believe in God and we are proud to be Americans. Phillip is a Viet-Nam veteran. We both love fishing and boating. We're also avid NASCAR fans. We love going to the races in Talladega and we usually visit another track sometime during the season. We have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 4 cats, and 4 dogs. Our two Schnauzers, Rudy and Cowboy, always travel with us on overnight trips. We live in north Mississippi tucked away in the woods at the end of a long driveway. We feed the deer and turkey in our back yard and we keep a watchful eye on a favorite deer we call 'Tripod' because she is missing a front leg. We rescue dogs and cats that have been abandoned and try to find them good homes. We love the Mississippi gulf coast and want to spend a lot of time there when we retire from our jobs.
Why the Owner Chose Bay St. Louis:
We purchased this house just a few days prior to hurricane Katrina's unwelcome visit to our coast. We made the decision to find a vacation home on our own gulf coast after hurricane Ivan destroyed our favorite cabin on the Bon Secour River in Alabama. As we traveled around we discoverd Bay Saint Louis. What a wonderful little town!! Even though there have been a lot of changes since the hurricane, we still love our location and expect it to get even better in the future.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is a great house. The upstairs bedroom is a good place for the kids to watch movies or play their video games. It also works well when two families are sharing the house. Being on a dead end street, there is hardly any traffic. We own the lot next to our house so there is plenty of room for parking and it gives us a lot of privacy. We can fish from our deck or take a paddle boat ride in the bayou. Bay Saint Louis is working hard to rebuild the town and beach area. Every month the merchants in old town Bay Saint Louis host 'Second Saturday' to encourage local residents as well as visitors to explore the shops. Construction is underway on the beach for a marina and recreation area. We hope you will consider a vacation in Bay Saint Louis.
