City of London apartment description

A designed and newly renovated apartment with high ceilings, wood floors and high-specification finishes, located in a stunning converted 1800's Victorian brewery overlooking a magnificent courtyard.

The apartment has a bright private living room with abundant light and a double bedroom, perfect for couples or families with full privacy. There is also a very modern, fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub/shower. The apartment is about 58 square meters. In the building, you have access to a very large communal roof terrace with a view of London.

For transport, the Whitechapel underground/metro station (District, Hammerwith & City and Overground lines) is literally meters away. From the station to the entrance of the building is a lively multi-cultural street market. Whitechapel is at the eastern edge of very heart of central London, and the metro takes you to all locations in minutes.


Great Location: Just along the market is the Whitechapel Art Gallery (the most important modern art gallery after Tate Modern Art Museum), and Brick Lane (with lots of pubs, restaurants). 10 minutes walk away is Shoreditch and Hoxton's areas, which are the trendiest areas of London with its pubs, restaurants and designer shops. The award winning and historic Blind Beggar pub is just next door, with a nice beer garden for the summer and friendly staff.

Transport: Excellent transport links and easy access: London is a big city - you will enjoy London more (and save costs!) by staying in the real heart and centre of London. For transport, the flat is 2 minute walk to Whitechapel Station. Stansted airport trains goes directly to Liverpool Street which is nearby, or you can take an express bus directly from the airport to the doorstep. London City Airport is 15minutes cab ride away (also on metro system). From Gatwick, direct trains go to London Bridge, then a few stops on the metro. From Heathrow, the Express takes you to Paddington, and from there, one direct metro line.

                                We were so lucky to have stayed here! Mok and Rolf made it easy, the loft was very nicely designed, with every amenity. Great location, bus and tube service made travel easy, and two pubs right next door. We would return in an instant.

                                Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

                                We stayed in Mok & Rolf's apt for 5 days with our three kids (14, 10 & 8). It is an ethnic and multicultural neighborhood but very safe. Two tube lines plus bus line nr 25 (stops 2 min far) connects with London center in 20 minutes. Walking distance (20 min) from Tower of London. Tidy and clean apartment. Mok was very kind and professional. Very good quality-to-price option. No doubt

                                A well-appointed apartment in an excellent location, I stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law for 5 nights. Whilst I'm always skeptical of sofa beds, the one in this lounge was so super-comfy that my 70yo mother-in-law insisted she sleep there and us young ones take the queen size in the bedroom - nice! After staying in tiny hotel rooms, it was nice to have space to stretch out, and even have some home-cooked meals at the dining table. Sainsbury's is right around the corner, there is a cash point just steps from the front gate, a bus stop out the front and tube station close by. The neighbourhood is a vibrant blend of multicultural influences and hipster chic - lots of restaurants, and groovy markets around Brick Lane and Spitalfields on the weekends. Mok and Rolf treated us like old friends, and even drove my mother-in-law to the airport when it was time for her to return home. We would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a home-away-from-home, and wil return next time we visit London. Thanks Mok & Rolf!

                                nous avons passé une excellente semaine londonienne avec nos 3 enfants dans le charmant appartement de mok et rolf le métro est juste à côté et le centre touristique à 10-15 minutes en métro le quartier est animé mais dès qu'on entre dans la cour de l'immeuble, tout devient très tranquille il est tout neuf et aménagé avec beaucoup de goût une très bonne adresse, à conserver

                                The place suited our requirements for a Family with 2 Kids (11 + 15) It was easy to get to many places without changing the tube lines leaving Whiteshapel. The apartment is in short distance to the Tube Station. A supermarket is also around the corner and I could get what I needed until midnight on the day of arrival. The area and it’s street market is very colourful which we quite liked. Typical for this district are Indian and Pakistani Restaurants with probably the best known once in London. No doubt we would rent again when going to London.

                                Wonderful apt! We loved our stay here! We were a traveling party of three with our 8-year old and stayed for two weeks. The apartment is conveniently located in London near the Whitechapel tube stop with easy and quick access into central London and sites beyond. The apartment is clean with modern appliances and decor, quiet, comfortable, with lots of natural light. Rolf and Mok made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Near the apartment building is a Sainsbury's and a public library as well as terrific places to eat. We especially enjoyed the great Bangladeshi take out place across the street. It's a terrific place to stay for a short-term or long-term visit and we definitely will try to stay here again next time we are in London!

                                Our family stayed 5 days in this apartment and we were delighted! the location is perfect, a few meters from the tube station, lovely decorated and fully equipped with all you need! there a wonderful terrace on the roof. I would definitely come back to this place for another stay in London.

                                We have stayed in the apartment 6 days. The apartment was very nice, clean and updated,spacious,bright, with everything we needed. Separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed, modern kitchen and a bath. It is a bit away from the center, but just a couple of short blocks to the train and bus stops just right there. We had no problem with being away from the center,as it normally took us 15+ minutes to get anywhere. Landlords were very nice and accommodating. If we will be in London again, we will stay there!!!                                 Our daughter swam on the USA Swimming Team, and we needed a convenient place to stay. This flat in Whitechapel was a great location to get to the public tube and bus system, and was reasonably priced. The flat is stylish with modern kitchen conveniences and colorful wall paint. We had four adults in the flat; two in the bedroom and two slept on the pull-out sofa (full) and the accompanying pull-out ottoman bed (twin) which are in the living room. Having sleeping space in the living room necessitated folding up the beds each morning to make way for sitting, eating at the dining table, etc, but it was easy to do. We did come back late at night several times, but the taxi was able to pull up right outside the front entrance and we didn't feel unsafe. The neighborhood does have a very high concentration of ethnic residents who run the market stalls on the street during the day, and the storefronts at night. We enjoyed trying some different foods and desserts from our usual American fare. Rolf was extremely helpful before, during and even after our stay, accommodating us with items when needed, and many directions, and suggestions. We can't imagine having a better landlord. The building is old, in a charming sort of way, and the stairwell does need some paint and new carpet but once inside, the flat is clean and modern. The rooftop garden area is a neat place to view the city. Overall, a great stay!

London is a changed place with these great memories. We're updating the building soon and the area is transforming to the one of the most exciting in London - really looking forward to your stay again (and also see Lauren swim and win in Rio 2016 - that's the plan!) -- Rolf

                                I stayed in this apartment with my husband and a friend for 4 nights in June 2012. The apartment was spacious, modern, and clean. The location was about a two minute walk at most to the Whitechapel tube station, which was so convenient to get around London. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The owners were so responsive along the way via email. They were able to meet us shortly after our train arrived in London and gave us useful information about restaurants and sights in the area. If we get the opportunity to visit London again we would definitely stay here!
