Kauhale Makai - "Village by the Sea" - Kihei, Maui, HI - Hawaii Vacation Rental - In the Kauhale Makai Resort Situated on the top floor of the six story oceanfront resort of Kauhale Makai (Hawaiian for "Village by the Sea"), our condo has unobstructed ocean views from both the living area and the bedroom. Relaxing on the lanai, you will enjoy whale watching during the winter months and watching the windsurfers year round. You can enjoy the breathtaking view of Haleakela from the lanai, as well. Inside, the unit is tastefully decorated and includes central air, cable TV, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The Kauhale Makai Resort has a swimming pool, wading pool, jacuzzi, sauna, putting green, shuffle board court, and barbecues. Golf courses, tennis courts, restaurants, and shopping are all a short drive away in Kihei or Wailea.
