    This was our 7th return to Village by the Sea and our second stay in this unit. Once again upon our arrival we found it immaculate. The bed is huge and very very comfortable, the kitchen and living space is open cocept, bright and roomy with views of the inner court, pool and ocean. The noise from below cannot be heard. It has been tastefully and recently updated and is well equipped. A big plus is the convenience of both the elevator and laundry, steps away. The building is very well soundproofed, we heard very little noise and being on the top floor amazingly there was no noise from the roofs venting system. Pretty view from the lanai but would like to see a larger table and perhaps two more chairs. Another bonus is the keyless entry with an electronic code. No keys to get misplaced! Other unit owners should follow suit. The gardens are well kept, manicured daily. Groceries, great eateries, fun bars, medical facilities and post office are all within walking distance. The whale foundation is just down the road and it is a short walk to the long and beautiful " Sugar Beach ". It is definitely good value for the dollar. The owner is accommodating. The housekeeper is a very nice gentleman and was very helpful. This complex is not really a party place, it is calm and quiet. To ensure the quality of this lovely, clean unit, please respect the owners property and housekeepers efforts during your stay for new and returning guests to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.     We were very impressed with this property. It was clean and well maintained just as the photos reflected. We enjoyed going down to the BBQ's for supper and meeting all the other guests staying at the property. We have recommended this property to friend and relative and hoping to return ourself in the near furture.

    This property was perfect for my wife and me. It had everything we needed for our stay on Maui, down to the beach towels and chairs. The view is spectacular. I highly recommend this property on your next trip to Maui.

    We arrived 11/28/12 only to find out that the Lanai would not be accessible because of renovations. The owner did not disclose this to us ahead of time, in spite of receiving an advisory that it would take place during our visit. We fully paid ahead of time and were left with no other option than to stay. In spite of calls and emails, the owner waited two days to respond to us. The contractors finished repair work on Friday afternoon,and the lanai was made accessible, but there are still cables hanging in front of the railings and tile to be replaced. Fortunately, we can now open the doors and are not sealed in like a ziploc bag. The condo itself is great. Beautifully remodeled and very comfortable with great amenities as well as centrally located. Unfortunately, the owner waited two days to respond and there has been no compensation for the loss or resolution. This would have been a 5 star review had it not been for the unfortunate non-disclosure,late response, non-compensation issues. Just be sure the lanai is finished before you sign up for any of the condos at Kauhale Makai/ Sea Village.

    From the moment we found this top floor condo listing online, we could not wait to begin our vacation in Kihei! The pictures are EXACTLY as the condo is in real life! The location was great, and just be aware that the beach at the condo is not great for swimming or sunning. It is rocky, and it can get very windy there! The newly updated condo was clean and well stocked with all necessary kitchen and living accessories. ( including a beach cooler, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels)! Loved the water and ice machine in the fridge- helpful for those hot days! The fridge was empty when we arrived. There was salt, pepper, some rice, cooking spray, paper towel, small laundry soap, some shampoo. It was enough for about a week, but we bought more supplies for a 2 week stay. We left a few condiments in the fridge when we left. Not sure if these are kept for the next guests, or if they are removed when the condo is cleaned? There is coin laundry just a few steps from the condo unit door ( bring quarters). The grounds of the condo are beautiful and well maintained. We saw groundskeepers out every morning cleaning the BBQ's, cleaning the pool, cutting the grass, tending to the flowers etc. The birds and roosters woke us up some mornings! Angelo was generally quick to respond to our many questions and emails before and during our stay. He provided all the necessary information we requested. We were able to check in after hours without any concerns- except the fact that we walked to the wrong building(this condo is actually at address of 930, not 938). The air conditioner is a bit noisy ( clunking), but we found that if it is on during the day, turn it off before bed, and the condo stays a comfortable temperature. Would definitely recommend this condo, and would not hesitate to stay there again in a minute!

    Our stay in Kihei at Village by the Sea was "wonderful"! The condo was everything it said it would be. We were not disappointed at all. The view was spectacular. The appliances all new, the couch was the most comfortable. The unit was neat and clean. Everything you needed was in the unit to have dinner at home, which we did numerous times. The bar-b-q area always spotless! We were just steps away from the beach. What I loved was the closet space. My husband and I could totally unpack. His and her closets AND we had room to store the empty siutcases out of sight:) We will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your bit of "paradise" with us. I would recommend this condo to all my friends and family. Close to shopping and restaurants.

    We loved our stay at the Kauhale Makai in Kihei! The location was perfect for exploring the island and the room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There were several things we loved about the condo including the king sized bed, the air conditioning, a nice pool area, beautiful view and landscaping, the well equipped and updated kitchen, and access to some beach gear such a Boogie Boards, Beach Chairs, and Beach Towels. We would recommend this condo to anyone who needs a nice place to stay while in Maui! We would definitely come here and stay in the same room again! It provided us with the perfect place to stay during our Maui vacation!!!

    We had such a great time in this condo. It has a great location in Maui about 20-30mins from the airport. Doesn't have lots of tourists/kids like you would see in a fancy hotel like the Sheraton or Hyatt. Its also conveniently located very close to the bars in Kihei called the Triangle. The ocean front beach is also a very private beach, calm and quiet. The pool is very nice, warm and clean. It is cleaned every morning. It gets quite windy in Maui at certain times of the day, but the condo is facing away from the wind, so you get a nice breeze while the building blocks most of the strong winds. Everything inside the condo was very new. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need including BBQ utensils. The BBQs were also cleaned every morning. There was also green putting area to practice your golf. Filtered water and ice maker out of the very new stainless steel refrigerator. I really liked that you only need a code for the door. You don't have to bother carrying and losing your keys if you remember the code. I could go on and on about this place. We could have easily stayed another 6 months if we could. We'll try to return next year!!!

    My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment. The condo is so beautiful and very comfortable. The view is great and everyone in the complex was friendly. We would definitely recommend this condo to our friends and family.

    My husband and i stayed here for the first time in April. We stayed for 10 nights and had a great time. We loved the condo, comfortable and everything in the picture is exactly what you get. Clean and quiet place to stay. We loved the sunsets each night. We would defiantly rent this condo again.

    Although the photos of this property looked good, the unit was even better in reality. We were very comfortable and the place was nicely stocked with all the amenities we required. The property is close to restaurants and shops. It is easy to access other parts of the island from here. The beach near the property is good for walking. Overall the condo unit is kept very clean. We hope to return.

    Wonderful location and beautifully remodelled condo! This was our 3rd year at this location and this unit is certainly top of our list. The owner & onsite team all made for an enjoyable rental experience. Condo is perfectly situated for ease to head off to any where you want to go on the island, but is laid back and quiet enough for relaxing and to enjoy cooking wonderful meals at home while watching the sunsets. We will definately be back again! Mahalo.

    What a wonderful condo. Very spacious and beautifully upgraded. We throughly enjoyed our week, the sun rises and sunsets from the lanai are breathtaking. The only downfall is that there is not a swimming beach or any amenities close by, you have to drive everywhere. We would gladly stay here again!

    This was my second time in this unit and my first visit since the renovations, all I can say is "WOW"! On my last trip in August 2008 my wife was with me and though the views were spectacular, the place needed a little upgrading. I was there 6/20-6/30 2011 and as I said "WOW" nice job, I will absolutely be reccomending this place to friends and family and will be back soon so my wife can see just how beautiful it really is.

    This was the nicest I have ever rented in kau hale makai the owner remodeled it recently and they didn't skimp on anything I was very happy there it felt like home and it was sad to leave. The sunset from the lanai was breath taking and the bed was awesome as well as the flat screen televisions and the kitchen was better equipped than my own kitchen I willl be back very soon

    Aloha. Our stay in 605 was quite an adventure to say the least.The condo was very nice with all the amentities you'd want except candles/flash light/or camping stove. Wondering why I said those items? Due to a severe series of storms-one with high winds only and another with winds and a severe flash flood, this beautiful location turned into a 3rd world nation. In front of the Village by the Sea the Kihei road turned into a river with a 2'-3'high flow of dark brown water and debri. The entire complex's phones went down for 4 days, the lights were out twice-first time 12 hours,the second time 16 hours.This is why the candles and lights would have been really appreciated. The parking lot became filled with water/debri/mud varying from 20" to 12" and there was no place to escape to due to that day's flash flood and the immense amount of water.Other areas in downtown Kihei were worse,and other areas out of downtown got hit hard as well.This storm was catastrophic for over 75% of Maui,and hit Hawaii,Oahu hard too. I guess you're wondering why I'm calling this adventure/trip positive? The condo was great and can't be blamed for any of mother nature's doings.We ended up there like the rest of the residents and visitors in the Village by the Sea and were affected by nature's worst storm in 20 years in Kihei. The complex's residents all came together and even tho the electricity was off, and even without any easy means to get into town other than walking, we all survived fine. This fact alone makes me still want to come back to Maui and stay in the same room 605 again. I have a great story and experience to tell my friends and family, and no where in that story will I blame the Village by the Sea and room 605. I look forward to returning again this next year.
