The house was everything it was advertised to be. The owner went far beyond expectations to make the transition from home to vacation as easy as possible! There was construction on the street but the disturbance was minimal. The house is located close to a grocery store which made things easy. The pool was nice and the landscaping was absolutely beautiful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks for this Tammie, glad you had a great time. Please come back :)

Renting a villa on-line is daunting, however, all our rentals using home away have met our expectations and then some. The villa is as advertised , there are no surprises. We found it well equipped and an ideal home away from home. Unlike previous reviews we did not encounter problems with the pool or otherwise. A car is recommended as most restaurants at Christ Church ,beaches etc are about a 10-15 min drive away. The supermarket though is within walking distance. Many thanks to the owner for renting us their vacation home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Great week at Six Roads villa

We loved our week in this house. It was spacious and well equipped in a lovely quiet cul de sac near the six roads roundabout. We walked to the Emerald City supermarket which is very well stocked. The pool was a very good size for the kids to have hours of fun and the three bedrooms were just right for the five of us. We explored the east coast and the south coast and generally had a great week in the excellent value house. Two little things that made a difference - the insect nets on the windows meant we could have breeze without bugs, and the automatic ice dispenser! Joe and familyDid you find this review helpful? We rented this beautiful house as a group of 4 people; myself, husband, grown up son and our Polish friend, and can honestly say it is a fabulous place to stay ! The house is spacious, light, airy and in an excellent location, quiet enough to be peaceful at night, but close to bus stops, shopping and local rum shops ! we hired a car, which I would recommend, simply so that you can get to see as much of Barbados as possible - it truly is an amazing island ! The house has everything you could possibly need, and the pool is an absolute godsend in the bajan heat ! It was well used during our stay, both daytime, and at night, was cleaned thoroughly twice by the pool guys, and is as inviting as it looks in the photos. We spent many an hour on the main patio at night, drinks to hand, listening to the wonderful bajan night orchestra of crickets, whistling frogs and the occassional bullfrog ! We got to see fireflies, and the elusive tiny whistling frogs every night, so cute !! I would highly recommend Casa de Casa to families, friends, or anyone thinking about renting this house ... don't hesitate, go for it, it is beautiful !! Jon dent is an absolute pleasure to communicate with, nothing too much trouble. We would definately rent Casa de Casa again if travelling with other people, .. maybe next year !Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

The home was well maintained and was close to supermarkets, banks, a fast food restaurant, bakery and Chinese food. I will be recommending this home to all my friends and family traveling to Barbados. This experience was my first time and I was not disappointed at all, I usually rent a hotel room but this was much more worth it for the money and privacy.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed at Da Casa a Casa over a period of two weeks in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. It is as presented in the photographs being modern, comfortable, well equipped and maintained, with the air conditioned bed rooms being greatly appreciated. It was an ideal base for exploring the island of Barbados and after a day on the beach it was great to return home and take advantage of the pool and barbeque. Also with it's proximity to the airport it was ideal for a spot of island hopping and exploring the diversity of the islands less than an hours flight away. Jon recommended renting a car from Stoutes car rental and they managed our requirements where we needed the car for a few days at a time over the period and it was great to fly in knowing the car would be waiting and we only had a five minute drive to get "home".Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

I must admit having booked this villa early in 2010 and then by chance reading the poor review written in October 2010 I was a little nervous about our planned stay at Christmas. There was no need at all! Jon Dent is a very pleasant and helpful owner and Judy the property manager is just great...we came away from the villa feeling as if we had acquired a new friend! The villa is beautiful and is on a lovely road of similar properties very close to Six Roads. The Six Roads roundabout is where you can pick up your supplies and where you can basically get to all parts of the island - when you work out where each of the six roads take you! I stayed at the villa with my parents and children and found it was suitable for all ages. You do need a car, but unless you intend not to do much I find you need a car anyway in Barbados no matter where you stay. The pool is bigger than it looks on the picture, and it is serviced by two patios this is a great place to hang out. Inside the villa is spacious and bright. The kitchen has everything you need particularly if like me you have a 'cookin mama' on hand! The windows have a mesh covering which was great as we didn't get one insect bite all holiday. The bedrooms are a good size and are fully air conditioned so you get a good nights rest. I can't say enough about this villa, having stayed at many different villas and in many different locations on the island I would say this was by far the best. We can't wait to return!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in this Villa April 2010 for 16 nights. The property was very clean and the outside area well maintained with a pool caretaker and a lawn mowing service. My son thought it was really cool to swim in the pool with the lights at night. I liked the fact that the pool was not heavily chlorinated. The outdoor eating area was private and perfect for evening meals. The neighbourhood was really quiet, friendly neighbours and is at the end of a cul de sac so it was very peaceful. The kitchen was spacious and had loads of plates, glasses cutlery etc. Including the ensuite, there were three washrooms which was perfect for the mornings while we were racing out the door. Even during the really hot spells we found that keeping the doors open cooled the house down. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms but we only used it for a short time at night. The owner was easy to deal with, helpful and responded to emails quickly. I loved the location but I would definitely think it was more than a five minute drive to Crane Bay( unless we were driving a longer route). In the end we LOVED Miami Beach and Brown's Beach where we went most days. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone but also to advise that a rental car is absolutely necessary. Yes, there are busses but they are time consuming and I would not want to be in a wet swimsuit on the bus. To summarize in one short sentence......don't hesitate to stay at this rental as it truly is a home away from home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We all needed a week away and the villa and area didnt let us down. Everything was just as we expected, a real home from home. Very comfortable, clean and relaxing with everything we needed. The garden is beautifully maintained and the pool a great place to cool off after a day at the beaches. Supermarket down the road was really handy, with a bus stop at the end of the road that takes you to the beach and saves the car. A car is necessary though. Thanks a lot for a great time, we'll be back !!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The pictures sure don't tell a true story - at least not on our trip. The pool was riddled with algae, worms and even a frog. There is only a washing machine - no dryer as stated in the advert. We were told there was a coffee maker, although still unable to locate it. We received a tour on arrival, but it was obvious the place had not been cleaned for some time. Thank goodness there is a Supermarket nearby where cleaning supplies could be purchased and we did our own cleaning. The owner didn't seem to be too concerned over these short comings, we were advised 'the other guests didn't mind drying their clothes outside' - so I guess we were the minority that expected a clothes dryer. 'I can't help if the frogs want to take a dip' was one of the best responses thus far, it was also obvious that the pool hadn't been cleaned in some time - only surface leaves were removed, living organisms took over the pool, the water was not cleaned until 2 emails to Mr. Dent (at which point we had already stayed for 3 days) at which point he stated "I never said it was a 5* accommodation". We won't get into the details of the dishwasher, lets just say you're better off buying some dishwashing soap and taking care of matters on your own. If you speak Spanish, you will appreciate the 'satellite tv' stations as there are only about 10 channels available in English. You could get better accommodations at a hostel.Owner response: I do wonder why this guest actually bothered with a vacation. It would appear that he was determined not to enjoy it, but to make life hell for himself, neighbours, guests next door, the housekeeper, the pool man, and even a well respected Barbados maintenance company. I'm suprised a street party was not in full flow as he left. When it was put to him that he was being rude, arrogant, officious and inflamatory the review above is not at all suprising. Suffice it to say that the villa is as described and maintained to a high degree. Dear Lissa, dont come back to Barbados, please stay as far away as possible. Keith Moon would have been preferable guest.
