Little River Cabin is nestled in the woods atop a gorgeous rock ledge overlooking Little River. The river, which flows atop Lookout Mountain in beautiful Northeast Alabama, is a pristine, spring-fed waterway bordered by wild Azalea, Rhododendron, Blueberries and Mountain Laurel. An intimate wood deck provides a relaxing observation post at the river's edge from which you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the local waterfowl.
The cottage has two bedrooms, two baths and a spacious sleeping loft. There is a queen-sized bed in each bedroom and a queen-sized bed and two twin beds in the loft providing plenty of room for eight people. The great room with it’s soaring ceiling, abundant windows and open living space provides cheery natural light that enhances the glow of the cottage’s tongue and groove pine paneling.
Come and relax on the expansive screened porch, swim in the river, fish, or just explore. A small boat with electric motor is provided for fishing (Alabama fishing license required), and a kayak for exploring the river. Evening entertainment can include hot dogs and marshmallows cooked over a campfire in the rock fire pit overlooking the river.
To the West directly across the Mountain lies Historic Mentone with quaint shops and restaurants to enjoy. Mentone is the gateway to Desoto Falls, Desoto State Park, Little River Canyon, Cloudmount Ski Resort, and Sequoyah Caverns. To the North along the ridge you can visit Cloudland State Park, Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain Hang Gliding Flight Park. Stay a weekend or a week, there is plenty to see and do to create your family memories. |
