The photos of this home do not do it justice. It is clean and well furnished. Colors are subtle, cabinets are new, and appliances are easy to figure out. Yes, the floor squeaks in places, but what else would you expect from real wooden floors? It has more space we than expected when initially viewed on line. All the rooms are good sized and easy to move around in. I would have liked a full length mirror but the lack of one is certainly not a deal breaker. As I settled in to a very comfortable living room chair to read, it briefly crossed my mind that a hassock would be handy but then I just curled up and forgot about it. It's that kind of house--comfortable and natural. My sister and I especially appreciated having to bathrooms so we could manage our own routines without worrying about how much counter space we were using. We only wished that we were staying longer. Landscaping was in process while we were there and we could tell that the final results will be both functional and pretty. Would I rent this house again? In a heartbeat!

Enjoyed everything about this rental property. House was immaculate and well-kept. Great bathrooms, nice kitchens and I slept like a baby. Great location also - enjoyed walking downtown, to Boneyard Beer, and the 14th St area (Brother Jons, 10 Barrel) Would not hesitate to rent this house again, or recommend to others. Internet access worked great. Owner was also responsive to requests for info. House was accurately described in the listing.

We had a great time in Bend and certainly the home location was ideal. It was a bit odd to find only enough towels for 1 person each for a 4 night stay. We found ourselves doing more laundry than expected. We had hoped the yard would be fenced, in order to let our dog out without a leash given it was pet friendly. Overall and good house and a great time.

Owner response: April, Thanks so much for your comments. We just purchased new towels to add to our supply. We are also building a fence to enclosed the side yard. Also, thank you for taking such good care of our home during your stay. We hope you will visit again. Mike & Sharon

Just what we wanted: a charming, well appointed 2 bedroom bungalow in a great neighborhood w/ all the amenities we wished for a memorable week of relaxing, skiing and feeling like we had a low upkeep home away from home. We love being able to easily walk to town to eat but great to stay home and cook sometimes too (had everything we needed except possibly a vegetable scraper - which I was going to get and leave but I never went in a store.) I We will be back for sure (we still need to try the deck and grill!)

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Carol, Thank you for staying with us! We'll make sure to update our kitchen utensils to include the vegetable scraper right away. Hope to see you again soon. Mike & Sharon

We had a great time in Bend and loved staying at this cozy cottage. It was close enough to downtown to walk where we wanted to go. The cottage is very clean and neat, the beds comfortable and a great place to spend a few days. We highly recommend a stay here!

We loved our "vacation home" in Bend! It is a WONDERFUL home which had EVERYTHING we needed. We loved that we could walk everywhere. The downtown is so close! Thanks for the stay Dave! We have told our friends to check this place out when they travel next year to Bend. PS...The weather was awesome!

Perfect location to all activities in Bend area but especially convenient to the restaurants and microbrews located in the downtown area. The house is very well maintained and considering it was used mostly for sleeping and as a HQ for golfing, it satisfied our needs beyond expectations.

Our group of 3 adult family members only had 2 short days to spend in Bend, but we were very pleased with this house. The rooms were clean, spacious and well furnished, including comfy beds. The big kitchen is equipped with all the basic equipment, which we used at breakfast. The front porch is very pleasant, and the side patio is even better for soaking in some sunshine. The owner is easy to communicate with and gave good instructions. Parts of the small yard and driveway appeared a bit rough compared to the rest of the house, but that is a minor point. I would be delighted to spend a week there sometime.

We had a great stay at Dave's home. Location is literally 2.5 blocks from the downtown strip and about 1.5 blocks from the Mcmenamins St Francis. House is very comfy with wifi, clean and new kitchen, memory foam mattress top, nice showers, and more. We came to town for the 'Pole. Pedal, Paddle' event so it was nice to have such a great home to rest, relax, and enjoy Bend. We would definitely stay again.

This cottage was great for us, mainly for its location, a quick walk from many downtown amenities: Thump Coffee (excellent espresso, skilled baristas), Deschutes Brewery Pub, Zydeco Kitchen, Amalia's, to name a few of our favorites. The house has been nicely restored and maintained, and well stocked with cookware, etc. The gas grill on the deck is huge, but may require a bit of trial and error to get even cooking results. Warning: the beds are extremely soft, so if you require firm support under you, you may need to sleep on the floor. Also, (this may be an issue for only a few of us with sensitive noses) the towels and linens all have a strong chemical floral smell, that I gather is from "fabric softener", which we never use at home.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Owner response: Greg, thank you for the review information, I appreciate your suggestions. I have replaced the fabric softener with a "green" softener and eliminated the aroma. As for the beds, we recently installed 3 inch sleep comfort foam mattress toppers. They are supposed to be firm and mold to the individual. We will test them and be sure to make future tenants aware, so they can be removed if needed. Thanks again for your comments, they are very helpful. We want all of our guests to be comfortable and have a great time while visiting Bend and we will do everything needed to make that so. Dave

Our time at the house was great. Plenty of room for two couples, everything we needed was there and the location was great for walking downtown. Loved having Boneyard tasting room a two minute walk and the Old St. Francis less than 5 minutes. It was nice to be able to leave the car and just explore for the day. The beds were extremely comfortable for everyone. Loved having individual thermostats in each bedroom as well as the heated tile floor in the bathroom. The fireplace in the livingroom was nice and definitely kept it warm. We all said we would definitely stay again if we returned to Bend.

We had such a great long weekend at this cute little house. The kitchen was perfectly stocked, the furniture was all really nice and comfy. We had two bathrooms so there wasn't any stepping on toes with 4 adults in the house. Lots of morning time spent on the deck sipping coffee and waiting for the day to start. Perfect walking distance to downtown and many of the local brewpubs and restaurants. I know if we come again we will check to see if this house is available - highly recommend.
