This spacious home is located right on Garrison Lake with views of the Pacific Ocean. The side of the home facing the lake and ocean is all windows, including a roomy sun-porch, so you can enjoy this tremendous view all day long, relaxing in comfortable bamboo chairs, eating your meals at the dining table or gazing out the window over the kitchen sink.
The living room/kitchen area is open and airy, looking out onto the sun-porch and the views beyond. On the main floor of the home there are three very comfortable bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with two twins) and two full bathrooms. One bedroom looks onto the lake/ocean with a sliding glass door opening onto a deck. There is also a futon couch which sleeps two on the sun-porch.
There is a large downstairs area with a bedroom that has two queen sized beds, an enclosed porch with a ping pong table to entertain the kids, a two car garage as well as eight bicycles of various sizes for the entire family to use. The home is located right on the lake, so bring along your kayaks or canoe and launch them right from the yard.
The home has been lovingly refurbished by the new owners. It features a fully stocked kitchen, all new furniture and furnishings (including 100% cotton sheets that feel great!) and a washer/dryer for your convenience.
If you are not familiar with Port Orford, it is a very unique coastal community. Founded in 1851, Port Orford is the oldest platted townsite on the Oregon coast and the most westerly city in the continental U.S. Port Orford has spectacular seascapes, uncrowded beaches and an abundance of fresh air and wild winds.
The port of Port Orford is the only natural, open water port for 600 miles and only one of six "dolly" ports in the world. Fishing boats can't be moored in the harbor due to it being unprotected from southerly winds, so the boats are hoisted in and out each day.
Port Orford has a very active artistic community, with many art galleries owned and operated by working artists, including some genuinely world-class talents.
For the outdoor enthusiast, the Port Orford area offers ocean surfing, windsurfing, fishing, boating, hiking, beachcombing, crabbing, clamming and more. Hikers who make it to the top of the three mile trail up Humbug Mountain are rewarded with impressive vistas of the Oregon coast. The hike thru lovely virgin forests includes groves of the rare Port Orford Cedar.
Port Orford is filled with interesting and quirky people, an unhurried atmosphere and no stop lights. It has a unique style and relaxing energy that sets it apart from other coastal communities.

This is the most beautiful serene and relaxing environment ever!!The 4 of us gals had a marvelous time. The sun room was great for cards, crafts and relaxing. It was almost like staying in our own home ( only with a wonderful view ) very comfortable. The kitchen is set up nicely. The beds are quite cozy and the sheets are perfect. We wil come back for sure. Thanks!

We are definately not in Texas anymore! This is our 1st trip to the North West and leaving here is proving to be difficult. Having our Grandpa and Grandma just down the street is the icing on the cake. Thank you for having a cozy, comfortable warm place for us to visit with family and take in the beautiful scenery. We will never forget it and hope to be back often.

We all had a wonderful time. As born and loved city goers the country/coast was a wonderful break. Our family of 6 enjoyed fishing, sight seeing, tree-ziplining and beachcombing. Our 3 year old especially enjoyed the wildlife so accessable outside our windows. Thank you for this well maintained vacation home.

We rented this cottage for four days and did not have a good experience with Robin. She was unfriendly and didn't return phone calls promptly or at all. There was a miscommunication about payment and i was told after we had already unpacked, that if we did not pay her immediately she would come and take the keys away from us.........even though we were already in the house. Never once did she ask how we enjoyed the stay or if we needed anything. House was all right, yes the sunroom and view are stunning, but it lacks charm and coziness. If you plan on using the downstairs basement, don't expect much. If i would the owners i would get a new property manager, she was really awful.
Owner response:I am sorry that this group did not have a good experience. It is our priority to make sure that our guests are happy. If someone is not happy we ask them to call us right away so that we can try to fix the problem. My telephone number as well as my Husbands number my maintenance man and my houskeepers numbers are all on the vacation rental confirmation sheet that a guest receives when making a reservation. I am very busy as we manage many homes but will always return calls if a voice mail is left. If it is an emergency there are 3 other numbers to call. I would never tell anyone I would come take the keys away from them. That is just plain silly. This did not even happen. Like most all vacation rentals or motels the balance is due up front before you can pick up keys. These people got keys without paying and I was simply trying to get payment, very reasonable in my opinion. I think this guest wanted to be in Bandon. Port Orford is aprox 24 miles South of Bandon. The view on this home is stunning and despite this review it is quite cozy. It is not cluttered with a lot of stuff, as the view is the main focal point. Again I would just like to say that if any guest has a problem we ask that they call right away and leave a voice mail or call the other numbers listed so that we can take care of the problem. Our reservation paperwork is very clear on when payment is expected and how to get ahold of us. We live right in town and are available 24 hours a day. It is ok on occassion to pay upon arrival if that is arranged prior. It is not ok for guest to get keys and unpack without paying, however I would never tell anyone I would take keys away. I would come and pick up the rental money, which is what I did. I typically do not make phone calls to guests after they check in to see how everything is. I like to leave them alone and let them enjoy their stay. There is a book in the home as well as the reservation confirmation that we ask people to print out that has all of our phone numbers on it in case a guest is not happy or needs anything. We have been managing this home for 4 years and have not had any bad reviews so far. In my experience you cannot make every one happy but we do try our best. We moved to this area because we loved the beauty of it so much and we want to share that beauty with other people. We are always happy to give advice to anyone of our favorite cafe or hiking trail, so please call anytime we can be of assistance.

This house felt like visiting Grandma and Grandpa's... Very comfortable and cozy. It has everything you need and the views are amazing! The sun room is a great place to start the day and also offered a quite place to do a puzzle or read while others watched a movie. We'll definitely visit Blue Haven again!

I come back to Port Orford every 4th of July with my wife and kids. We have stayed in a few different places over the years. This was our favorite, the location and view were beautiful. The house is great. We will book the Blue Haven again. Enjoyed by all.
