In the heart of the Provence and on the border of the French Riviera, La Haute Maure is a nature preserved area.
What is around: * Less than 15 minutes, authentic villages and provencal markets. * Less than 30 minutes, Verdon lake and canyon, museum, theater, monasteries, castles.... * An hour away, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Porquerolles Island, and Nice (flower market)
La Haute Maure, wonderful site: A former center of silk production, la Haute Maure is situated only a few kilometres from the villages of Salernes and Lorgues. It is hidden away in a secluded corner of the countryside and steeped in the perfumes of thyme and lavender. Its six hectares of land, with attractive swimming pool , are the incarnation of Provence, its countryside (olives, evergreen oaks, and mulberry trees) and gentle way of life.
About the farm: Surrounded by a little garden, La Farigoule, with its wide frontage of natural stone pointed with limestone mortar, feels as if it has always been there. After pushing the door of the garden entirely closed, you will find the pergola which will guarantee shade for your summer meals.
Then you enter the main room which consists of an equipped kitchen area, a lounge area with a wood burning stove and a dining area. The stairway leads you to the first floor where you find, on the right, the bathroom, the first bedroom with two single beds, the second bedroom with a double bed and an independent toilet.
If you turn left at the top of the stairs you find a hand basin area, a shower room, a large bedroom with a double bed opening onto a beautiful terrace facing full south. The miller's ladder, on the left, takes you onto the mezzanine, the end point of the visit, where two single beds await you. |
