  This is a conveniently located apartment in Queens. It is a quick walk to the N/Q, restaurants, and stores. We stayed there with our two young children, and although the apartment is one bedroom, we were all quite comfortable, especially with the air conditioning!!! Barbara is super friendly and responsive. She lives right across the hall and is readily available in a helpful way. Barbara was easy to communicate via email and phone and woke up very early, without complaint, to let us in upon our arrival. I have and will continue to recommend this apartment to couples and small families visiting the area.

  My husband and I spent five days in NYC and felt so blessed to have found Barbara's place! It was just as advertised: highly convenient to the subway, clean, and she was very friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

  For our very first-ever trip to New York we have only wonderful, positive reviews for Barbara's Astoria flat. 1. Our plane arrived at JKF at 6am. Barbara emailed us exact directions on which subways to take to get to her flat. She was gracious to offer to store our luggage while we hit the streets of Manhattan. Barbara lives in the same building with her family...she is super sweet! 2. When we checked in Barbara was kind to bring us 3 bottles of wine. She is opening a Wine Bar in the city and had been to a tasting earlier that day. I wish her the best in her latest endeavor. 3. The accommodations were magnificent. The bed was comfortable (we slept through our alarm). The neighborhood was peaceful and the decor was tasteful. Every single amenity listed was there. Two weeks before we arrived, Barbara sent us maps of the neighborhood and local activities. She also has the best travel books in the flat with many more ideas for activities. 4. Each evening we walked to dinner where the choices were ethnic and endless. We had warm, sunny weather which brought out all the locals. Every restaurant had outdoor dining that allowed us to feel like locals out enjoying a pleasant weekend. 5. Because our flight left late in the evening, Barbara, again, allowed us to store our luggage so we could continue sightseeing. 6. We'll be back!! HIGHLIGHTS ~ *sunset walk to Astoria Park to take photos of Manhattan and the Kennedy Bridge *sampling baklava throughout Astoria *the quick 15 minute subway to Manhattan *going for a run in Central Park around the lake (a local doorman watched my bag)

  We really enjoyed Barbara's apartment. the apartment was very clean, nicely decorated and it was as it was described. The subway was just 5 minutes from the apartment which was very convenient to reach Manhattan in 20 minutes. Astoria is a very nice area with lots of shops and cafes around. Barbara was always there being very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a very nice stay...

  I recently spent 4 nights at this apartment with a friend and her 17 year old daughter for their first visit to NYC. It was my 6th visit, so I was able to see from the information that the location would be perfect for our trip. This was the first time that I have stayed in Astoria. Barbara replied promptly to my emails, and we spoke by phone once before the trip so that I could confirm payment information. As she suggested, we took a taxi from LaGuardia so that we would be dropped off directly in front of the apartment. I am glad that we took the taxi instead of the bus because I didn't know exactly where the bus stop was until we wandered around a bit. I contacted her from the taxi line, and she was waiting for us when the driver let us out. I would definitely stay here again because I prefer staying away from the noise of the city. She told us about another rental that she has, and I would stay there even though I didn't see the apartment. Barbara handled the rental process professionally, and I trust her comments about the other place! The 3 of us used 3 bedding options: the queen bed and the queen air mattress in the bedroom and the queen sofa bed in the living area. The sofa bed was plenty comfortable for me, and the other 2 visitors said they also slept well. The subway/bus stop is about a 5-minute walk from the apartment, and the N/Q line runs to several major stops in the city. Transfers are easily handled also. We did not spend much time in the area, but we did head up to the last stop and walk to Astoria Park on our last day. It really is a lovely view of the East River and Manhattan. We ate lunch at Pizza Palace, and we bought cookies at Rose and Joe's bakery--both are near the Ditmars Blvd. stop. I had a positive experience here and, as I wrote, I would definitely stay here again.

  We spent 15 days in this flat and it was great! Everything you need you will find it since the description wascorrect . You can reach the subway in 5 minutes and will be in Manhattan in 15 minutes . Stores , restaurants, shops are also available close to this apartment no need to walk very long. Barbara is very friendly and provide lots of informations before you arrive and even once you get there and it's a plus ! The flat is modern, very clean, you have internet the neighborhood is calm and even if wanted to search something negative we won't find nothing. Really it was a beautiful stay in New York and in Astoria because it's a beautiful city,but also because we felt like home since everything was made before and during the stay by Barbara to make things easier. Lots of thanks to her we really appreciated. You can book this apartment eyes closed !

  We are a family with 16 year old daughter, We enjoyed staying in Ms.Barbara place, The apartment was very comfortable, clean and same as the pictures at site. I do recommend this apartment for a small family who like to quite & comfortable place than a medium level hotel. Ms.Barbara was very help full and easily reachable. Find a parking bit difficult, area is near to super markets & food out lets.

  perfect location if you don´t want to stay in manhatten directly. a quiet area, 5 minutes walk to metro, 15 minutes drive to central park. everything clean, nice and uncomplicated. we will come back

  The apartment is very well located, close to the N, Q and R subway station, and in a great neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, and supermakerts. It's a very short commute to Manhattan. Very clean place, modern, comfortable and Barbara was very helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend this rental!
