A few renter comments:
Loved the log cabin. As recommended by some San Francisco friends, this was the first time we have stayed in Homewood on the West Shore, and prefered it to the south & north shores (less crowded, beautiful beaches, Tahoma Market & Homewood Ski Resort 2 minutes away). Sledding down to the creek was the best! Jerry
The morning and evening walks in the neighborhood and the lake were wonderful - we plan to come again. Zalinski Family
Kids loved the creek below the house and pitched their tent near the water for a few nites. Our bike rides to Sugar Pine Point state park and evenings on the porch at Pine Lodge were exciting. Your home is beautiful ! Wendy & Tom Wells
New 2 bedroom, 1 bath log cabin on McKinney Creek in quiet McKinney Estates. Cabin has been custom built of 14 inch Engleman Spruce logs by craftsmen from British Columbia. Wooded two acre lot has convenient car access (winter and summer) and offers a woodsy and private retreat with room for snow play and sledding/tubing on property which leads down to year-round McKinney Creek.
The cabin has an open floor plan with log beams and vaulted ceilings, natural wood paneling and tile throughout. Cabin is professionally cleaned after each rental and sleeps six with queen, full and twin bunks (bring your own bed linens and shower towels - pillows, electric blankets and comforters are provided - or we can provide them for an additional $50 fee.) An old fashioned Vermont-Castings natural gas cast-iron stove with glass doors is located in the front room and bedrooms have electric baseboard heaters.
Lake Tahoe is a short 1/2 mile walk or drive to the Chambers Landing public beach & pier and 1 mile to Homewood Ski Resort. Cabin is 12 minutes from Tahoe City with stores and restaurants and three minutes to Tahoma Market (quick groceries & videos).
Favorite spots near cabin include Homewood Ski Resort, Chambers Landing beach and pier, Meeks Bay, the West Shore Blvd Bike Path, Sunnyside, Obexer’s public boat launch, Sugar Pine Point (with Pine Lodge Historic Site, beach and dock), DL Bliss and Emerald Bay state parks. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski resorts are 15 minutes away.
