Charming Home Next to a Stream
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Charming home, next to a stream, that is surrounded by mountains. There is a stone fireplace outside, next to stream, ideal for cooking or enjoying the fire at night. A swing sits on the Willow tree, next to the creek. Walk up or down the stream, to find water holes for swimming, or fish in the stream to catch a trout.
There is a picnic table out side, on the back porch, for eating your meals and viewing flower gardens. There is a vegetable garden for fresh lettuce, herbs, strawberries and Kale. Inside, there are two brightly colored bedrooms and an extra futon, a wood-burning stove, a cozy living room and an eat-in-kitchen.
There is hiking out the back door. A short drive to Phoenicia and a 20 minute ride to Woodstock or Hunter. The days are warm and the nights are cool.

Great little cosy house, close to charming town. Owner super friendly. It was a little dark and damp inside though, try to go in a period when it's sunny and you'll enjoy the place even more!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came up here on a super-last-minute impulse to get out of the city - I arranged our stay with Carla the day before we arrived, and she could not possibly have been more accommodating. She met us and took the time to give us a detailed tour of everything. She had even chopped wood for us to use in the outdoor fire pit! The cottage is really cute, nicer than I'd expected based on the pictures--you can hear the sounds of the stream from the bedroom...so calming! The setting so near to the stream is already perfect, but Carla has made it even better because of her gorgeous garden. In short, I would recommend staying here to anyone and we were very sad our visit was so short. With luck, we will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Stayed at this delightful cottage for a 4 day weekend - wished it could have been for longer! The cottage is cozy, welcoming, interesting and peaceful. Every night we cooked our dinner over the stone fireplace and relaxed by the creek. The cottage is stocked with everything you need from pots and pans to music and books (and good ones too!),and unique eclectic furnishings. Brought our dog and she had a blast too!. The owner is lovely and stayed, despite our late arrival, and showed us everything and gave us all the scoop on the area. This area is beautiful and we packed in a lot in the four days. Phoenicia is really sweet and very dog friendly with some yummy restaurants (Sweet Sues) the area has loads of hiking, good antique shops and flea markets and great towns nearby such as Woodstock. We really fell in love with this area (and this property) and we will surely be back! - great vacation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this cabin over the July 4th weekend. The setting is absolutely perfect -- every night we cooked our dinner over the open fire in the outdoor fireplace and sat in the Adirondack chairs by the beautiful stream. We felt like we were away from it all and it was great to have all of the highlights of camping combined with the comfort and convenience of a house. The small town of Phoenicia was only a few minutes away and we were wonderfully located for hiking, biking, and whitewater tubing. We hope to be able to return soon.Did you find this review helpful?
