Location: Orrs Island, Portland & Casco Bay, Maine, USA (Portland Maine is about 60 minutes south of this house)
Accommodations: Log House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)
This log house over-looks Casco Bay and the sunsets are so spectacular, sitting on the front porch is itself worth the trip. The house was built on what used to be a boy's camp and the recreation hall is now the Bailey-Orr's Island Yacht Club. The bay is filled with pleasure boats and the local lobsterman are out early in the morning, hauling traps.
If you like lobsters, you can drive or walk across the Cribstone bridge and enjoy seafood dinners at Cook's Lobster Pound-a popular spot in the summer. If the quiet and seclusion start to get to you, the house is only a 60-minute ride from Portland. The Old Seaport in Portland is a great place to shop, dine, and see movies. Portland offers a fun night life, concerts, and museums.
Closer to the house is Brunswick, home to Bowdoin College and a summer music program. There is a farmer's market that gathers twice a week on the town common and there is also good dining, bakeries, and cafes.
Available May-Oct $1200/week. Off-Season $200.00/night with a 3 day minimum $1000.
