The air is also cleaner and sweeter in this area--in part because of the park like area on Ave de Breteuil just 3 doors away where the long and wide grassy area is perfect for reading, strolling, having a picnic or just enjoying the view of Les Invalides. At both corners of the street, you have a view of this beautiful gold dome reminding you that you are in Paris. On one corner is one of the best boulangeries in Paris. Within a 4 block radius, you have multiple restaurants, grocery store, hardawre store, dry cleaning, beauty salons, fine wine shops and the wonderful open market on rue Saxe as well as the Rodin Museum, Napoleon's tomb or the numerous boutiques on the picturesque streets of Paris.

Designer renovated and furnished in 2006, this apartment in a pierre de taille building has retained the old world elegance with modern renovation.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2004

Hi. I am a Professor who searched for 5 years to find the perfect apartment and location in Paris, one that would be close to great restaurants, shopping and museums but one that was also quiet and relaxing at the end of the day. It was to be a writer or a tourist's retreat and was designer renovated and furnished high end to create a sense of a home away from home, a retreat in the most beautiful city in the world.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 7

I have worked and lived in Paris for several decades and have come to know it quite well. Over the years, I have lived in the Marais, Ile St. Louis, the 17th and the 6th. Many of these areas are wonderful for walking but they can be congested and noisy. The idyllic spot for me was the area near Les Invalides. The air is sweeter; it is relatively quiet and uncongested. It is wonderful for walking as the architecture is spectacular, the momuments (such as Les Invalides, Petit and Grand Palais)are very close. Some of the best restaurants in Paris are a short walk; my favorite Rodin Museum is 2 short blocks away; within a mile is the Bon Marche and the best shopping, the beautiful Champs Elysees or the "pulse" of Montparnasse. In l/2 block, you can relax on the broad lawns of the esplanade facing the gold dome of Les Invalides. Every day on returning home, you see the magnificent gold dome and the tree lined streets to remind you that you are in Paris.

The Unique Benefits of this Condominium

One of the best boulangeries in Paris is on the corner of this little street. Only 1-2 blocks away are grocery stores, news vendors, cleaners and shopping areas. Especially wonderful is the Avenue Saxe open market, considered one of the very best in Paris--and it is only 3 blocks away.
While shopping, museums and monuments are a short walk, there are 3 buses and the metro (St. Francois Xavier) l/2 block away. You are near everything, either a short walk or public transportation. And yet you enjoy tranquility and beauty. It is the perfect location for either short or long stays.
For the renovation, we selected a subtle sophisticated look. This 1BR has the space of a normal 2BR apartment in Paris but we opted for a large comfortable living room and large kitchen/dining area, fully equipped. This apartment is extremely comfortable, sophisticated and yet appropriate in style for the 18th century building and the environs.
