GUEST COMMENTS
Oct. 2005 - This was such a good choice for us. Although we live only an hour away, we had business here and long hours of work. How nice it was to come "home" here rather than being in a hotel. We enjoyed balcony cocktails & snacks, cooking meals and having our business associates stop by for informal meetings. Comfy, cozy, colorful.
June, 2006 - This was our first trip to Galveston since '95. WOW what a change. Condo is really nice. Everything works as it should. No surprises!!! We enjoyed the fact that we were able to email the owner with questions and got a quick response. That goes a long way in today's voice mail & E-Com world.
July, 2006 - We are really enjoying our vacation here. It's my 70th birthday and my four grown daughters surprised me with a birthday bash. The view is great. The sleeping space good, too. Very well equipped. Loved being close to all seafood restaurants. We paln to make it annually.

We have stayed many places in Galveston but this is truly the best by far. We are building a new house and the way this one is decorated gives me lots of ideas. We loved everything about the condo and resort area. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Aug, 2007 - Had a wonderful weekend (again). We even got lucky enough to watch dolphins play from the balcony. Hopefully we'll see you next year.
Aug, 2007 - Well we had an excellent trip to Galveston. We started our first day out crabbing directly across from condo we successfully caught right under 40 blue crabs with nothing but string and chicken neckes. We boiled them up for supper the same night. The community BBQ pits were great for the stak & pork chops we had along with the crab.
Aug, 2007 - Thanks so much for a great homespot during our vacation. We enjoyed walking down to the pier to watch sunrises; the views from the condo were wonderful! Our goal was to relax and get lots of sun before school begins - this pool was a fantastic place to swim and read and get lots of sun. The grounds here are so beautifully kept up - we could enjoy the tropical greenery and flowers while hearing the ocean.
May, 2008 - We would like to thank you for having us in yoru cozy, adorable condo. it was a perfect home-away-from-home for this group. We all became friends in college and look forward to quick trip vacations so that we can reunite and relive our college days. By allowing us to rent from you, we were able to continue oru tradition. Thanks for everything.
May, 2008 - We loved your place. Thank you so much for letting us rent it. My girls loved the pool. We visited Moody Gardens, Palm Beach, found seashells on teh beach, went to Schlitterbahn and the Oil Derrick Museum. It was very relaxing even though we were busy going and doing things. Should we ever return we will definitely look your place up to visit again.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
My heart sings in Galveston! While I grew up in the north, my grandmother lived in Galveston and I would spend the summers at her house, walking to the Ferry landing and riding the "poor man's cruise ship" back and forth to Bolivar feeding the seagulls. I still do this when I need to go back to my childhood serenity, though I have to drive there from this location.
A fire in June consumed the rear condos at our complex. This unit is at the VERY FRONT of the complex. The rear of the property has been demolished, construction is expected to begin in the fall. The construction area is fenced off and our guests have not expressed any concerns with the work that has taken place so far. From our unit you really aren't affected. Maravilla is the "jewel of the island" with the most lush, tropical grounds and the most wonderful aquatic facilities. Come see for yourself!
Why the Owner Chose Maravilla
Originally we bought this condo as our weekend getaway. As our kids' lives (and by relation ours) got busier, we found we weren't able to spend as much time as we would like in Galveston, but we weren't willing to give up our little slice of paradise - so we decided to share it instead - with other families who wish to be able to afford a Galveston getaway. While there are great hotels in Galveston, having the space to spread out and the option of cooking your own meals to save money appeals to us when we travel and we know it appeals to other families as well. Since buying in 2004 we've made great friends - other owners at the Maravilla, and guests who return year after year. We hope you'll join our list of guests and return guests!
We are a family of 5, wait, make that 6 as our oldest got married summer of 2009. Two teenagers keep us busier than one can imagine, unfortunately we don't have as much time to enjoy our condo as we once thought we would - teenagers will do that to you - so we have chosen to share it with others. We hope you enjoy our home-away-from-home as much as we do.

Our family really enjoyed or stay at Beach Paradise! The condo was just as described in the listing. Galveston was an exciting place to visit! We stayed busy and it was wonderful to go back to the condo and relax in a very relaxing and clean place. The owner was very easy to deal with! She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during our stay! The view was absolutely AWESOME! The kids had a wonderful time in the pool! I would definately recommend this property to anyone wanting a worry free vacation as everything you need is provided (plus a whole lot more)! We will definately be back in the near future! Thanks so much to the owner for being so accommodating! You are truly an Angel!

Beach Paradise was the perfect place for a weekend with the girls. We had plenty of room for the four of us and the condo is nicely decorated. The pool areas are nice and we also could walk across the road to the seawall. Pretty view too. There are plenty of great restaurants in Galveston ... we tried Mosquito Cafe and Sunflower Bakery and Bennos and all were delicious.

We had a great stay at the condo. It looked exactly like the pictures on the internet. We found it clean and well stocked with plenty of towels, sheets, dishes, etc. Every morning we got up and fixed breakfast and then went to the beach. They older boys enjoyed boogey boarding and the younger ones played in the sand. In the afternoons we spent time at the pool. Periodically we tuned in to the TV to keep up with the soccer worldcup. The beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed having the washer and dryer in the unit so that we could have clean towels and clothes every day. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Owner response:I am so glad you had a great time and everyone enjoyed themselves. I hope you'll come back soon and often!

I would definately recommend this property to anyone that is looking for an affordable place to stay with their family. It is truly a "beach front" property and we actually saw dolphins from our balcony early one morning. The condo was extremely clean and well-maintained. There was plenty of cookware and utensils and even storage containers. I loved the full size washer/dryer and with a family of three girls it was so nice to keep up with our laundry throughout the week and go home from vacation with no laundry to wash. The owner was very nice and extremly helpful in answering any questions we had. The pool was fabulous as well. I definately would recommend this rental to family and friends and definately intend on going back!

My husband and I rented this second story condo as quick weekend getaway to include our three grown children and family dog. The price was right, and the owner was very flexible about the arrival and departure times. The condo is right on the seawall, easy to find, and very pet-friendly, with a designated area for walking pets. The condo itself is an end unit, with large windows and sliding glass doors facing the seawall, and a window facing the west side landscaped area. The unit is relatively roomy for a Galveston condo, light and airy, decorated in a cheerful, eclectic beach-kitschy style. Inside the unit was worn, but clean and tidy. The balcony furniture was pretty dusty, as you might expect for a lanai facing the seawall. There is no beach at the seawall at this location, and no beach within walking distance. Crossing seawall blvd was a scary exercise, I would not recommend for children or the faint of heart. The building itself comes across as pretty old and in need of maintenance. We were trapped in the elevator, and had to call for assistance. The elevator remained out of service for our stay. If you have trouble carrying luggage up and down a flight and a half of stairs, this might not be the best place for you. The kitchen is small, but serviceable. However, there were no trash bags and only 1/2 roll of paper towels provided. There were dishwasher pellets available. One of the kitchen drawers was broken and would not open and close without a lot of effort. The ice maker in the fridge was broken or unhooked, and the only ice tray in the freezer was empty. There is a washer/dryer, but no detergent. The master bedroom is big enough for a king size bed, which was made up with fresh linens. The beds in the second bedroom were not made up, and we had to do so ourselves. The unit has one and a half baths, with plenty of clean towels. There were only two half-rolls of toilet paper in the unit, both of which had about half a roll wadded into an odd flower-like appendage. The two half-used rolls of bathroom tissue did not last long. We only found one very small sample size bar of soap in the unit, not nearly enough for the five of us for the weekend. There was a bottle of liquid hand soap that had about half an inch of watered down liquid soap in it. If you are looking for a dog-friendly place on the seawall, and are not expecting luxurious amenities, this might be the place for you. Just bring your own toilet paper and soap.
Owner response:We are one of the few owners in this complex who provide starter amenities, most, including those who rent through large rental companies do not do so. We offer starter toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, trash bag, and starter coffee service. Our condo was redone in April of 2009, so surprising to find this guest describe it as worn. We take great pride in offering amenities so our guests do not have to run to the grocery store immediately upon arrival.
Recommended for:Pet owners.

What a lovely place to stay! The owner is extremely friendly and easy to work with. The condo has a great location with a beautiful view of the ocean from the patio. The condo is roomy and attractively decorated and contains everything you'll need for your stay, and more! The kitchen is stocked (and then some), and she also goes "above and beyond" providing books, games, DVDs, movies, beach toys, chairs, umbrella, etc. Tons of towels for in the condo and pool or beach, lots of linens. Very comfortable & enjoyable stay!!

This is our home-away-from-home, and we hope you will make it yours, too! We try to make it comfortable for families, share information about what is new in and around the complex and Galveston, and we welcome your comments about how your stay was, and anything you think we should change for future renters. Come back year after year to this BeACH Paradise!
