First off I want to say the place was not to bad it just need some maintenance and a way better job of cleaning there was garbage in the cans when we got there and the counters were dirty and sticky after about an hour of wiping everything down it was fine then the maintenance tile on the shower floor comeing off and towel racks falling off and just a few very small things but all and all it was good. It was hard to get a hold of the owner too.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers

Reviewer Comments: We rented the two bedroom apartment for a six day stay in Boston - me and my husband and a dear friend from New York. The configuration of the apartment is perfect for multiple guests. It is very spacious, comfortable, abundant windows to let in natural light,and only a short jaunt to the subway station. The neighborhood is very quiet and other conveniences are within easy walking distance. A very nice place.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice apartment: I recommend it for a family or for a group. It's OK till to 5 people. It's large and well organized. The only small negative aspect is the location: not so near to the center and 20min walk from nearest T station. I reccomend it only if you have car. We didn't have any issue for safety, but I felt the streets not so safety in the evening.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was well maintained and appointed. Beds were comfortable and Kitchen was fabulous. Train to town only 10 minutes away. Best to research where supermarkets and restaurants are before arriving as we had problems on first night and drove for quite a while to find somewhere decent to eat. The delivery Pizza would not accept our cell phone number as was not local.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First the pros. The apartment does indeed look like on the pictures. The house is well maintained and the apartment is clean and nicely appointed. If looks alone would determine a rating than it would be a 5 star. Now the cons. The neighborhood is questionable at best. A few weeks before we arrived a police squad arrested some drug dealers on that same street. The neighbors next door would pass their evenings on the veranda, listening to music, drinking beer and enjoying their burping contest until almost midnight. They also had fun lighting some fireworks when we were already in bed. Unfortunately, what these nice pictures will also not tell you is that the young male owners above you will have little consideration for your need for sleep. We booked the property for two weeks and during our first week both owners where away for business, so everything was ok, except for the above. **** broke loose once one of the guys came back. He would start to tramp through the house from 11.30 pm, dropping things opening cabinets and making all sorts of noise until deep into the night. It felt like he was in your bedroom. Impossible to sleep. I talked to the owner of our apartment and he explained that most probably the guy above us was jet lagged and that things would settle down. We bought ear plugs just to be sure but nothing helped. It's not the jet lag it's his life style. Imagine if both were at home, better not. After 5 days of no sleep we finally gave in and escaped from the house. I asked the owner of our apartment to reimburse me for the remaining three days but he seems to elect to just not respond. Tough luck I guess is his stance, not a good way to treat your clients. So to make it short, if you are a family looking for a quiet place don't start considering it. You might be lucky if the guys are away for business, which apparently is often the case, if they are not, well tough luck.

First the pros. The apartment does indeed look like on the pictures. The house is well maintained and the apartment is clean and nicely appointed. If looks alone would determine a rating than it would be a 5 star. Let's move to the cons. The neighborhood is questionable at best. Very spaciy and perfect for a family. Great and well equipped kitchen, subway in walking distance, good food market close, very easy to find from the airport. Quite at night and well a/c'ed (it was quite hot during the nights). We (a family of 2 adults and two teenagers) would definitely come herr again .Roland and family from Niedernhausen, Germany.

Reviewer Comments: 58 Sawyer Ave is a very comfortable base from which to explore Boston.Tastefully decorated and roomy, it was great to return there in the evening to relax.Easy for us to walk to the 'T' station but perhaps a little far if you have walking difficulties.Only negative points really were the noises from above due to hard flooring, a limited range of cooking dishes and cups and garden areas needed some tending but these are very minor grumbles!We would be happy to use the property again and to recommend to others.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When you are stepping outside of the front door, do not go left. We ventured left and walked a few blocks to look for a pizza place and we were greeted with cop cars with lights flashing every few minutes and multiple cops on foot. Mind you this was on a Sunday afternoon. We wanted to find the Dudley square metro stop, so we asked the friendly pizza staff and they told us ABSOLUTELY, DO NOT GO THERE! The location of the house is in a fine area and I felt safe, just don't venture too far off to the left.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at The Sawyer. The rental looked better in person than even in the photos. Very clean and all the amenities needed. A short ride to Savin Hill Station (Red Line) as advertised, and took about 30-40 minutes with walking to get to most locations we wanted to visit in Boston (but a bit too far to go back to in the middle of the day for a break). We did not have a car but there was plenty of street parking as well. Not too much to do in the area but a great place to stay for your visit to Boston.

- really nice, spacious, luxurious place - comfortable beds: could accommodate my family of 6 people - kitchenware is complete - my family cooked most of the meals throughout the stay - nice to have an in-house washer and dryer - check-in procedure is simple and the owner was responsive to our concerns and queries; reliable to rent from.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family of 3 adults spent a wonderful week in Boston that definitely included our super condo! We felt that EVERYTHING had been planned ahead to make us as comfortable as possible. The condo furnishings and decor are very attractive. The entire place is so scrupulously clean that we felt "at home" and comfortable. The apartment is well furnished. The kitchen in particular was quite upscale. One of our group was unwell the first few days of the week and had to stay behind in the apartment alone while the others were out seeing the sights. She said that the open, airy condo with the many large windows and the upbeat decor kept her from feeling blue. From the first email of questions through check-out the service provided was efficient and prompt. Parking was free on the street. While it was not reserved for our apartment it was almost always available within 2 or 3 houses distance. The Sawyer is a downstairs apartment but we only heard the other tenants a very few times a day when they were coming or going through the small vestibule that leads to the building's main door. This was fine because the rest of the time it was extremely quiet-we heard no neighborhood or city noise. The vestibule also provided an extra measure of safety in the form of a second locked door between us and the outside. We vacation together 2-3 weeks a years and we all found this to be the nicest place we've stayed. If "I care about your comfort" were painted by the owner across the wall inside it would definitely be the truth. Thanks, Swank Properties!!! PS Did I say we liked it?

The apartment was very clean at our arrival and we were able to check in a bit earlier than arranged thanks to the owners response. The apartment is fully equipped and the washing machine and dryer is a treat if you have a lot of laundry to do. Usually you can find parking just outside the apartment. The area us quite quiet at night and the subway is within walking distance but not so close. All in all if I would like to stay near central Boston again I would surely stay here again.

Spotlessly clean, beautiful, modern and comfortable. Some very nice added touches, ie: super-soft sheets, extra blankets for lounging on the sofa, condiments in the cupboard and some plush soccer balls decorating the second bedroom, as the owner knew we were traveling with our 9-year-old son! Parking was plentiful and convenient. We were sad to leave!
