House is great, cheery and perfect for 2 or 3...Master BR very comfortable, guest BR roomy. LR/DR/Kitchen open and airy and refreshing. Great view of Sunset Rock and when you walk out on the Rock you see the cabin. Very nicely appointed, garage was a plus. Have been to the area many times over the years, this was one of the best places I've rented. Owner made sure you knew they wanted you to be comfortable. Fantastic deck. Kitchen well equipped, didn't really want to eat out. Clean as a pin. Not really a "close" walk to town, but can be done!
Owner response:Thank you so much. We really appreciate the positive feedback. We wanted the house to be comfy and inviting. However, a walk to town is rather relative. I should rephrase it to say - less than 1 mile.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+.

My family stayed here in early August '11 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was very helpful and made things easy. There are also a number of brochures in the house for local attractions. We would stay here again, and I would recommend this property. The photos and description are very accurate, and the house is well-equipped and clean. It is very quiet and peaceful, and not far from downtown Highlands. The deck has a fantastic view of Sunset Rock and is a great to place to enjoy morning coffee as the sun rises or work on some songs you've been wanting to learn (as far as I know there were no complaints about my harmonica playing!). We enjoyed a number of local attractions: Glen Falls hike, Whiteside Mountain hike, Sunset Rock hike, Dry Falls, swimming in the Cullasaja River, ziplining at Nantahala Canopy Tours, Cliffside Lake; dining at Paoletti's, Main Street Bistro, Smokehouse, Fressers; shopping in Highlands and Cashiers.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.
