This Ottawa Valley Cottage rental has spectacular views from the deck overlooking 400 feet of lake front, on Round Lake, Ontario, Canada. The property is heavily wooded with red pine, white pine and poplar. The cottage is very private.
The cottage has one master bedroom with half bath and king size bed. A second bedroom with a bunkbed and a single bed. A third room for sleeping or relaxing with a double futon couch and entertainment unit. The cottage has spectacular lake views with a southwest exposure. A large deck with bbq and access to the lake front.
The cottage is well stocked with games, toys and movies for all ages. Including a PS2 with E rated games, a 14' trampoline, a basketball goal and a fire pit.
The lake access has stone steps leading to a large swim dock with a swim ladder. The shoreline is rocky but the lake is hard sand with scattered rocks. Visiblity is very high and no weeds.
We have a canoe with life jackets and paddles available for rental at a rate of $ 75.00 per week.
Round Lake is three miles by seven miles wide and around 90 feet deep. Water visibility is high, as the lake is fed from springs from adjacent Algonquin Park. Wildlife in the area include brown bear, deer, and all sort of squirrels, chipmunks, otter, beaver and local habitat.
One of the finest fishing lakes in The Ottawa Valley and by most standards the largest and most popular lake in a 60 mile radius. Killaloe is the nearest town, eight miles away, and Pembroke the nearest larger town, 30 miles away. You are about 3000 feet from Foy Provincial Park which has the nicest sand beach on the lake. It is no charge to enter the park and use the beach and hiking trails, as no camping or overnight is allowed. Interested in Theatre? Our local group, The Stone fence Theatre Group has events running Summer and Fall you get live music, theatre, local food, and a true vivid color of The Valley. Wolf Ridge Golf Course is a 18 hole course within a 15 minute drive from the Cottage.

My husband is from Texas and I am from Ottawa. We have two boys 7 and 10. We have two homes on Round Lake and a vacation rental home in Kissimmee Florida. We love to travel with our boys and discover new places. Round Lake is our sanctuary and we enjoy the wonderful sunsets and views from the great room. We hope you enjoy it here as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Round Lake
I grew up spending my summers on Round Lake. My parents retired here and most of my siblings have bought property here as well. We purchased this property 6 years ago and have now decided to live here year round. We love the community, it is a very eclectic area. Lot of music, art and local talent. Festivals, farmers markets and fishing derbys. People here are friendly with a strong sense of community. Because we live here year round we take the opportunity in the summers to travel with our kids. This is your opportunity to enjoy our home and our lake community. We can offer all kinds of suggestions for outings in the area as well as leave a fully stocked binder of brochures and maps for you to plan your week. (or just stay at the cottage and enjoy the lake and sunsets).
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
The lake is always changing. Some days it is calm, others a wind comes up and the waves can be like the ocean. I find that we have very few bugs as we are on the windy side of the lake. With South West exposure you can enjoy the sun most of the day and watch the sunset in the evening. The deck is very private and this lake has very few boats so it is quiet. I enjoy a morning walk to Foy Provincial Park with my dog. I walk down the beach and through the hiking trail (about 3 miles round trip). The park is closed so usually it is empty in the mornings. It is a magical place. Our kids are happy to share their movies, games, books and toys with your children. We leave the cupboards stocked with spices and baking supplies, as well as books, games, magazines and movies for your enjoyment.
