Homeowner Response:
The stay was great, the location amazing, and Mr. Shang was very nice! He let us borrow snorkel gear and boogie boards which would have been $$$ to rent. Oahu is a great place to stay in Hawaii, it has so much to do that you'll never get bored. We were staying for our Honeymoon and it was very private and romantic. The East wing had an amazing view, we must have took about 500 pictures from there. Tony was very nice and escorted us to the location because we had to take the back road since they were doing construction on the normal road, and although it was a long drive it was beautiful! The next time we're in Oahu we will definitely stay at the Best of Honolulu! Shea 7/17/07 An absolutely gorgeous location with a breath-taking view of the coastline and Honolulu. The apartment was beautifully decorated with every modern convenience. We were treated like 'family' and had a very restful, relaxing vacation. Can't wait to return to this paradise 'getaway.' Annette Shapiro, California 6/8/07 This was our first vcation and our first time to Hawaii. It could of not been more perfect. Mr. Shang was so very hospitable. They had an aromatic bath powder that was heavenly and made your skin very soft. The East wing was beautiful with its decor and especially the view. The drive was the best. It went through the Tantulus. It was a picture every minute. Mr.Shang made opur stay there very relaxing and enjoyable. With provided beach gear; cooler, boogie boards snorkel gear and even sun tan lotion due to the flight restrictions. He had everything you needed to get your vacsation started off right. We are already thinking of when to go back !!!!! Ian Thomas & Alisa Cruz, Seattle,Washington 10/6/07

Homeowner Response:
Guest Comment(03/21/07): Our month-long stay in the East Wing greatly exceeded our expectations. We, of course, were totally enamored with the view. It is even more dramatic at night and the early morning hours give the city a different look with the sun in the east. We were able to cook all of our meals with just the rice cooker, roaster oven, microwave and barbeque, which has a side burner for stir-frying or cooking beans, etc. There was a full-size refrigerator. You can see the entire city of Honolulu from Diamond Head to the airport and even the ocean out 20 miles or so. You can even see the city from the very comfortable king-sized bed, which is up three steps from the living room. The quality of the linen and towels is premium, to match the facility. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable sitting areas, even a desk for our computer. The shower is wonderful and there is a jacuzzi tub to further relas. We were able to wash all our clothes in the outside washer/dryer. There was even beach equipment supplied including snorkel gear, boogie boards, an air mattress and even a cooler to take a lunch, filled with ice from the ice machine in the refrigerator. The owner Mr. Chen, was very attentive to us and always anxious to please us and make certain we were comfortable. He gave us an orientation on how to get around Honolulu (complete with map) and could not have been more hospitable. The place is quiet and restful. We felt very private and yet not isolated. We enjoyed taking our meals in the gazebo, while looking down at the city and ocean. On a scale of 1-10 (and we've stayed in many different condos over the years in Honolulu), this was a 10. The landslide in 2006 which closed the road forced us to drive an extra 6 miles up and down the mountain, but that was a small sacrifice to stay in such a wonderful place. When the slide is repaired, be certain to take the long way around to get a feel of the mountain jungle. The one and only negative was having to leave; we couldn't find anything we didn't like. Hopefully, when we return to Honolulu, Mr. Chen will have space available for us to stay at the "compound." If not, we'll still drive up to renew our acquaintence with this gracious and hospitable man. Gene & Eliana Vosberg, Olympia, WA
