ZuZu and her Wondrous Properties on St. Martin....

We first visited, as a family St. Martin in 2007 and were granted the absolute pleasure of staying at The Coconut. The Villa's construction is superb and the decor is stunningly chosen and arranged. We were so thrilled with both the accomodations, its nearness to the beach and outstanding restaurants that we stayed again the next year and then the following at another spot of ZuZu's called KokoMarina I believe which was also lovely. We became acquainted with ZuZu's charming daughter and son in law at their atmospheric and delicious beachfront restaurant/bar Koko Marina a couple of years ago and, when we returned this year we found they had joyfully expanded down at the other side of the beach with an extraordinary restaurant/lounge called Palm Beach. The setting was magnificent and the menu was both extensive and delicious! I should add that Rancho Del Sol, one of Zuzu's children's restaurants is also worth a visit as well as a visit to a hidden delight: a consignment shop down the hill from the restaurant where one can purchase fantastic items from ZuZu's travels to Bali and perhaps, beyond! We stayed at yet another one of ZuZu's magical homes, this called The Magellan. I literally took pictures of every room as it was worth documenting for its beauty and transporting feeling. ZuZu truly helped us out this year, as she has done every year since we met her in 2007. Kudos to her for being such a talented and gracious businessperson and true lady and to the rest of her family who are responsible for so much of the charm of St Martin!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

We spent early part of May of 2008 at this unit. The place was conveniently located, clean and had a beautiful view. We enjoyed hanging in the hot tub after coming back from the beach and sharing a bottle of wine. If you want to get away from the hotel atmosphere and feel a little bit more like part of the community, this is the place.

Hello, I volunteered to find our vacation spot in St Martin. VRBO was very useful. After several emails with ZuZu about the Coconut Cottage we reserved and stayed there for the week of March 1, 2008. The Coconut was everything the VRBO listing described and more. Its location to beaches, dinning, sightseeing and shopping was a great advantage. After a day or evening out, it was a welcome retreat. The view and peaceful surroundings on the open-air deck were wonderful. ZuZu was very responsive to our questions and requests. If you have the chance, visit her daughter's restaurant KokoMarina on Orient Beach, and her son's restaurant El Rancho Del Sol at the entrance to Orient Bay. We had a very fun, memborable time.

We stayed the Coconut Cottage for the first 3 weeks of February and loved the place. Very nice green plants and schrubs around the cottage and loved using the hottub in the evenings and looking out over the bay and counting stars. We asked to book a reservation again for next year before we left. Zuzu and her husband are wonderful landlords and took care of us very well. Last year we stayed with them at one of the other properties they have,I would highly recommend staying with them.

My experience with ZuZu and Coconut Villa were excellent. As I was meeting family in St Martin (none of us had previously been) and responsible for arranging our accommodations I was a bit nervous/anxious as I did not want to dissappoint anyone. The accommodations far exceeded my expectations. The house was roomy and comfortable - as noted in a previous comment - the outside deck with views to the sea was where my family spent a great deal of their time when back at Coconut was a great luxury. The views were quite beautiful/breathtaking. The safe was a plus as having a secure place to leave valuables with peace of mind a positive. The location of Coconut Villa was another great asset. The distance to both the beach and Orient Village was an enjoyable walk and unneccessary to drive (learn the pass through La Plantation). Grand Case is about a 10 minute drive and we enjoyed venturing there as well as Marigot which was about a 20-25 minute drive. The boat ride launch to Pinel was a 5-7 minute drive. I found ZuZu to be a direct, laid back and genuine person and enjoyed dealing with her. I found St Maarten to be a wonderful island (enjoyed the French side and had limited exposure to the Dutch side) and will hopefully be back and call upon ZuZu again for help.

We stayed at the Coconut Cottage from January 9th thru January 16th of 2007. We have been to St Martin six times and stayed at three other places. We loved the Coconut Cottage. The main thing I was looking for in accomodations on this trip was more space. This cottage is probably around 1000 sq ft and has plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes,it even had drink coolies for your beverages. My favorite part about the cottage is the front porch. It is huge. The porch faces north with a great view of Orient Bay and can be used anytime of the day because it is always shaded. It is also big enough that when the rain showers come you can still sit outside and not get wet. There is some very comfortable furniture on the porch also a hot tub and we actually used it more than any other part of the cottage. There is a safe to store your valuables, satellite tv with some english speaking stations.The beds had good mattreses and good pillows. The price is very reasonable and a great value. Zuzu the owner is very gracious and was quick to correct any problems. We usually visit St. Martin once a year. We liked Coconut Cottage so well that we will book our next trip around the availibilty of the cottage The only suggestions I would have, would be a gas grill to BBQ on & a cd/dvd player with outdoor speakers on the deck. We brought our own Bose radio and it was great to be able to sit on the deck with good music.

We stayed at the 2 bedroom villa in Orient Bay the first week of Jan.2007 and it was like being in paradise. The accommadations were beautiful and the view was outstanding. We are looking forward to visiting in the near future and we would definetely recommend staying at this villa.
