Relax while watching the captivating ocean breakers, whales, and beautiful sunset from the comfortable living room or deck after a long walk on one of Oregon's especially long sandy beach, known as Big Stump Beach, at six miles length, or a day spent sight-seeing or playing a game of golf. Our 1100 square foot house is a comfortable retreat for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
Our tastefully decorated, well-kept, and inviting house is located across from the south end of Patterson Park near a quiet sandy beach on the Central Oregon Coast a few minutes south of Waldport, known for crabbing and its fabulous video rental store. Just six miles south is the charming village of Yachats, with the 804 Trail along the rocky shoreline, quality gift shops, coffee shops, art galleries, and restaurants with live music.
The fully equipped, well stocked kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, coffee grinder, stove-top espresso pot and supplies, and spices. The living room/dining room features a stellar ocean view, a woodburning fireplace, Cable TV, VCR/DVD player, CD/iPod player, comfortable sofa, 2 recliner chairs, and a diverse selection of books and games.
Oceanview master bedroom, with King-size bed, features a TV/VCR, and CD player. The second, smaller bedroom, has a Queen bed. Our beds have high quality pillow-top mattresses with soft luxurious sheets, quilts, and a selection of pillows. We change our bedcovers twice a year in both bedrooms. The large Trex deck is a special place to enjoy the fresh ocean air, beautiful panoramic ocean view, sky, and the pine trees. Easy access to the dining area and kitchen, adjacent to the deck, is the gas BBQ grill area(Summer and early Fall).
Out of respect for the neighbors in this quiet area:

My husband & I just returned home from a week's stay at this beautiful Coastal home. The listing photos and descriptions were very accurate, however, it was all much more beautiful seeing it in person. The view was fabulous and so close to the wonderful walking beach. The house was perfect, clean, organized, and well equipped to meet any need. We loved the location as it was so close to Newport, Yachats, Depoe Bay, Florence, and even Lincoln City. We went fishing on a charter boat out of Newport (Trade Winds). We caught lingcod, seabass, rockfish, and even picked up crab on our way in. Upon docking, you can get your fish cleaned & crab cooked then take it home and enjoy your catch. Every restaurant we tried was wonderful, however, our favorite for dinner was Adobe in Yachats. The food & service was excellent, and the view was incredible. For total endulgance, try the Marionberry stuffed french toast at Fishtails in Newport near the Aquarium which, by the way, is wonderful. The beach at Seal Rock State Park is great for viewing sea life and for great photos. The homeowners were extremely helpful in their suggestions of activities, attractions, restaurants, etc. We highly recommend this beautiful home and we hope to return soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Liz and Paul, We are really happy that your fishing trip was so successful! Pre-planning does make a huge difference so you can get the fish back home. We are also happy that you love our view and location, as much as we do! Adobe Resort for dinner or lunch is such a wonderful place to watch the waves and sea life! You're welcome to return to our coast home! Betsy and Chris

December 15-17, 2012: We had such a great time at your beach house. Just what we were looking forward - a quiet, just us, getaway. Such a comfortable bed! Also, wanted you to know that we really enjoyed Luna for a seafood dinner one night. Really good food, cooked perfectly. Thanks for the recommendation. Thanks again - for being our friends, and having a wonderful home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

October 7-11, 2012 Betsy and Chris--Wonderful and relaxing. The weather was spectacular. Expected rain this time of year, but had sun almost the whole time. Your stretch of the beach is by far the best in the area. Thank you for allowing me to share your home. I'll be back again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We arrived on September 4th and stayed 4 nights at the house. We couldnt have asked for a better vacation. The house was cozy and comfortable, it had everything you need for a longer stay and so much better than some cold hotel room for twice the price! Betsy was amazing, giving us all the information we needed on places to eat and things to do. The fog came in the day we arrived and it stayed all week but we didnt care. We lit fires in the evening, made smores and watched football. We seriously wanted to move in! The bed was large and comfortable, the pantry and cabinets well stocked with everyhting you need to cook your own meals. It was perfect. We are saving our pennies to go back! We will never stay anywhere else on the Oregon coast.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This was our first time to the Oregon Coast and it won't be our last! We spent most of our time hiking trails at Cape Perpetua: we hiked the Hobbit Trail, Heceta Head Lighthouse, went to Yaquina Bay, visited the aquarium, and the science center (Hatfield Marine Science Center). The weather was mostly fog for our stay, but that did not deter us! The Waldport Wednesday Market provided us with fresh fruit and homemade bread. We enjoyed having a "home" to cook in as opposed to a "cold" hotel room. We rented a Prius and have driven 350 miles and used up only half of a tank of gas! Your cottage is very nice. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We will be back! Thank you so much!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Betsy and Chris, We had a lovely two days here at Waldport. For some of us, it was our first time seeing the beautiful ocean! Between here, Crater Lake, and Bend, we fell in love with Oregon. The views along the coast were spectacular, and we saw whales and seals! Thank you so much for lending us your comfortable home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Why the Owner Chose Waldport:
The beach between Waldport and Yachats is one of the rare, long sandy beaches, known as 'Big Stump Beach',
in an area with few large hotels. We enjoy taking long walks with so few people on the beach.
We also enjoy watching wildlife: bald eagles, deer, pelicans, sea gulls, and whales who live in the area during summer and feed just past the surf!
The ever-changing sky, shore pine trees, and grassy meadow are so beautiful with our panoramic ocean view: a rare vista for coast homes. We also LOVE our view--with perspective of bushes and trees, breakers, and being able to see far out to sea!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It's relaxing, calming, and refreshing to hear the sounds of the surf,
watch the waves, clouds, sky and sea life. The fresh sea air is also
a welcome relief from city life in The Willamette Valley of Oregon.
