We highly recommend this comfortable, lovely beach house! The view is terrific! The house was well-stocked with linens, kitchenware and cooking supplies, comfortable furniture, games, internet, a cozy fireplace, and very comfortable beds. The atmosphere of the home was very inviting and welcoming, the instructions for everything were clearly written, and the whole place was clean, organized, and pleasant. Communication with the owners was interesting and fun, as well as clear and detailed in regard to the specifics of renting the home. I felt like I was not only having a special anniversary weekend, but making some new friends. Thank you very much! We recommend this home to other travelers who enjoy beautiful views, comfortable accommodations, good business, relaxing settings, and beach access! Thank you again for sharing your lovely home!

Owner response: We thank you, Roxanne and Ed, so much for your very positive review of your 3 night anniversary vacation in our Waldport area home! We too enjoyed conversing with you and sharing the history of our area and the former resort that used to be here dating back to logging days nearly a century ago when the railroad extended from the port at Waldport to Yachats. We look forward to more conversations with you and your sharing of how things used to be when you grew up in Waldport, Ed. You're most welcome to return for more vacations in our home! Winter VacationGuest comment entered by owner
We had such a nice time at the coast and talked about staying at your place again, maybe making it a yearly winter tradition. Hopefully can stay a bit longer next time. Thank you so much for all of your thoughtfulness and consideration in making our stay a good experience.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday
November 28-December 1, 2013 We had a wonderful stay at your house this Thanksgiving Holiday. Thank you for making such a warm, comfortable, and inviting home available to vacationers! We cooked a delicious Thanksgiving dinner (tenderloin, roasted butternut squash, cranberry/orange compote) in the well-equipped kitchen, and spent much of the day Saturday tide-pooling in the Cummins Creek area, enjoying the unexpectedly sunny weather! Thank You!

Owner response: The laundry room and garage are attractive for us too, as it's wonderful to keep the car out of the salt air. We're happy that you enjoyed your time in our home, which being at central coast, you took full advantage of the location to travel to revisit areas both directions. We hope to see you again at Pinecrest Village #1. Betsy and Chris
Your 'Castle on the Sea'Guest comment entered by owner
Your 'Castle on the Sea'
Oct. 15 to 22, 2103 Well, folks. We left Paradise early on a Tuesday morning for a drive which I estimated to be 494 miles but was actually 502 miles.......westward from I-5 and Eugene to Florence to pick up dinner items at Fred Meyers, and then here, your inviting and warm home--Your 'Castle by the Sea'. On Wednesday, weather almost perfect, we headed south to Florence to find some crab cakes for my wife, Jan, and as it turned out they were at Lovejoy's Restaurant and Tea Room, and served with exceptionally good coffee. One Thursday we headed north for shopping at Tangier Outlets in Lincoln City, and later had grilled salmon dinner at Chinook Seafood Grill. Friday, after a lunch on the deck at Ona's in Yachats, we headed south for another look at Coos Bay and enjoyed milk shakes from McDonalds on the way back. Saturday the weather changed dramatically form clear skies and light breezes to dense fog, so we just laid back, reviewed some videos from our 202 trip but late in the day we drove to Newport for some dinner fixins. On Sunday we had planned a drive to Astoria and a trip across that great bridge. But too much fog, but we did get to Tillamook and the Cheese Factory, etc. Today, Monday, Oct. 21st, we rested and planned our trip home tomorrow, our return to Paradise (California, that is). Thank You!

relaxing timeGuest comment entered by owner
Oct. 11 to 13, 2013 We had a great, relaxing time this weekend. Except for a shower on Saturday morning, the weather was great with little to no wind. Friday afternoon while sitting on the deck, I saw 3 blows (whales), one right after the other. I suspect it was one whale getting ready for a deeper dive. Thanks again!

Our Happy Anniversary to us!Guest comment entered by owner
Our Happy Anniversary to us!
Sept. 27 to Oct. 1, 2013 Betsy and Chris, Thank you again for another great trip to your wonderful beach home. Happy belated Anniversary to us! We had planned to do some fishing and crabbing and walk the beach with beautiful sunsets, BUT "Mother Nature" had something different in mind. Instead we experienced the tail end of a Typhoon from Japan. The winds howled with gusts over 60 mph and it rained cat and dogs and firehoses. We lost power for a couple of hours during which time we met some colorful local people at Salty Dawgs. The storm provided us with a much-needed R&R. We read, I knitted and watched TV and movies. It was great! Oh, and did I mention eating? We tried Ona's and loved their seafood pasta. We really enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner at Adobe's watching the wave action, and of course, the not-to-miss Marionberry French Toast at Fishtails in Newport. I'm going home well-rested and 10 pounds heavier! We did finally get in our beach walk yesterday afternoon, between storms. We can't wait to return and hopefully next time to do some fishing and crabbing. Thanks again for our wonderful stay.

Sept. 6-11, 2013 Betsy and Chris, Old friends are still the best! Sharing your life time of Oregon experiences with Carolyn and me has been so special. The seafood, magnificent views, beach walks, and general knowledge of the area could never be hired by any tour. The Rogue River was such an adventure for all of us. You have thought of everything for our comfort and fun. The memories we take away from Oregon are way beyond the telling to family when we go home. Love, Ann

Why the Owner Chose Waldport:
The beach between Waldport and Yachats is one of the rare, long sandy beaches, known as 'Big Stump Beach', in an area with few large hotels. We enjoy taking long walks with so few people on the beach. We also enjoy watching wildlife: bald eagles, deer, pelicans, sea gulls, and whales who live in the area during summer and feed just past the surf! The ever-changing sky, shore pine trees, and grassy meadow are so beautiful with our panoramic ocean view: a rare vista for coast homes. We also LOVE our view--with perspective of bushes and trees, breakers, and being able to see far out to sea!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It's relaxing, calming, and refreshing to hear the sounds of the surf, watch the waves, clouds, sky and sea life. The fresh sea air is also a welcome relief from city life in The Willamette Valley of Oregon.
