Relax while watching the captivating ocean breakers and beautiful sunset from the comfortable living room or deck after a long walk on one of Oregon's especially long sandy beaches, at six miles length, or a day spent sight-seeing or playing a game of golf. Our house is a comfortable retreat for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
Our tastefully decorated, well-kept, and inviting house is located across from the south end of Patterson Park near a quiet sandy beach on the Central Oregon Coast a few minutes south of Waldport, known for crabbing and its fabulous video rental store. Just six miles south is the charming village of Yachats, with the 804 Trail along the rocky shoreline, quality gift shops, coffee shops, art galleries, and restaurants with live music.
The fully equipped, well stocked kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, coffee grinder, stove-top espresso pot, and spices. The living room/dining room features a stellar ocean view, a woodburning fireplace, Cable TV, VCR/DVD player, CD/iPod player, comfortable sofa, 2 recliner chairs, and a diverse selection of books and games.
Oceanview master bedroom, with King-size bed, features a TV/VCR, and CD player. The second, smaller bedroom, has a Queen bed. Our beds have high quality pillow-top mattresses with soft luxurious sheets, quilts, and a selection of pillows. The large Trex deck is a special place to enjoy the fresh ocean air, beautiful ocean view, sky, and the pine trees. With easy access to the dining area and kitchen, adjacent to the deck, is the BBQ grill area.

The beach between Waldport and Yachats is one of the rare, long sandy beaches
in an area with few large hotels. We enjoy taking long walks with
few people on the beach.
We also enjoy watching wildlife: bald eagles, deer, pelicans, sea gulls,
whales who live in the area during summer and feed just past the surf!
The ever-changing sky, shore pine trees, and grassy meadow are so beautiful
with our immense ocean view: a rare vista for coast homes.

We owners cannot let our wildlife sightings go unmentioned. These past few days, as during our last few stays here last month, we have enjoyed watching osprey as they majestically fly over our grassy area and swoop to the beach. The amazing sight we have seen four times now,is the osprey flying up from the beach carrying a fish in its claws! Whales this summer swim past here and do not linger very long. But they can be seen south at Yachats from the City Park, where the whales hang out and feed. We've enjoyed being here this month while the painters work on painting the house exterior! It was also nice to be here in May and June while they worked on some bathroom and hallway renovations and replacing south and west exterior siding. We hate to go now. It's another gorgeous late summer day: sunny, clear, calm, dark blue ocean, blue sky, no clouds. We, too, enjoy sitting on our deck as we eat lunch and late afternoon enjoy snacks, and the gorgeous sunsets!

We have stayed in many places, but this one met our every need. I love the water, so watching it every morning and evening was wonderful. We had several beautiful sunsets. Al is a 'life-birder' and added several new birds to his list.I think my best vision was at Seal Rock. That is how I will always remember this place. As we stayed here and looked at your picture history, we appreciate how much of both of you are reflected in the house. You have spared nothing for the comfort of your guests. Thanks so much!

We had a wonderful and relaxing time all week. We never saw whales from your place, but a couple of other spots we saw them. That was a real treat! The weather was really nice. Some rain but also plenty of sunshine to enjoy as well.

Jen and Lisa--sisters--here to celebrate our birthdays. What a spectacular view from a cozy/comfortable home. As others have stated in previous entries, we feel as if we know you. You have put your heart and soul into making this cabin a perfect place to relax, celebrate, cook, and just live. We felt so at home here. We loved the long uncrowded beach! So nice for long, refreshing walks! We enjoyed sitting on the deck every afternoon and we cooked some fabulous meals--very nice cookware! All the little extras made us feel welcome and safe: nightlights, super comfortable beds, exquisite sheets!! We had nice meals in Newport at 'Sharks', 'The Drift Inn' in Yachats, and 'Waldport Seafood' in Waldport. No whale sightings until the last morning, but at last we spotted a pod around 9 AM and saw a bunny hop across the lawn. We hope to return soon! Thanks again for the great place to relax and hang out. We enjoyed reading the journals from start to finish! Cheers!

Thank you for renting this place-it made us feel at home. The view is beautiful, although the fog was sometimes quite thick. Very magic in its own way. We enjoyed the beach, the seals, the woods, and several trips: Three Capes, Newport area, Heceta Head and Cape Perpetua. The high tide at Cape Perpetua is so powerful! We never saw so many hummingbirds..especially not "around our dinner table"! Thanks again and we hope to be back..perhaps to see the whales!

We have rented a lot of places in the US, but this tops the lot. A home, not a house. Comfortable, it has everything you need. Relaxing and enchanting views. Plenty to see and do. We've had a great relaxing week after 2 weeks on the road. living out of a suitcase. Back on the road tomorrow. Seen plenty of wildlife, truly awesome. Saw a bald eagle but I think the whales must have sneaked by in the night. A great place just a pity about the fog. But it didn't spoil our stay. Loved the "Year in Provence" videos. comment from owners: the Eastern Pacific got warmer due to El Nino, so the whales moved somewhere to cooler waters. We hear the water is warm and people have seen porpoises playing in the breakers!

Back again after 2 years ago at this same time. Had a very sunny day on my birthday (Tom). Good time to stop at Sea Lion Caves for our first visit to that attraction. Lots of wildlife there. We walked the beach out front for miles. Played 'Sandpines' (golf course at Waldport) Friday and both had a great time (lowest rounds ever). Old Town Florence. Yesterday, took 'in the seafood sale at Ray's and Coast Aquarium in Newport (Oddwater exhibit is new). And of course, the beach. We'll be back.. Thanks.

Thanks so much for sharing your home with us! We had a great time! The weather was cloudy and cool but it certainly didn't stop us from enjoying the wonderful beach. We visited glass-blowing shops in Lincoln City, the Aquarium in Newport, the Sea Lion Caves in Florence, but the time we spent at "home" was the best part of our trip. The girls had a blast flying kites in the soft sand! One evening we were treated to a fantastic show by the whales--right past the breakers! Thank you again for allowing us to stay at your "coast home". We look forward to coming again. We've been up and down the Oregon Coast but this was our favorite spot!
