It's so great to be back to this most wonderful beach house! We've had a perfect 9 days--the weather was sunny, warm, and clear! Jim played golf and Kathy beach-combed, and loved it! Flowers starting to bloom, great chowder in Newport (Chowder Bowl), oysters and fish and chips. Wine on the deck, sunsets. Great lunch in Florence with Betsy and Chris--missed the eclipse though--the clouds, fog, and rain came in! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful beach house! We hope to return in the Fall. It's so much like "home" here! Thanks again.

Your home is like being home, it's so cozy. Loved the beds! Rainy and windy first couple of days, but didn't mind staying in as the view is so awesome. It would have been nice to have a telescope or binoculars. This is our new yearly (sisters)get-together place. Had an amazing time. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay (4 nights) at your coast home, seeing and hearing the ocean and waves every day. What a beautiful panoramic view whether we were inside or out!! It might have been the season, but it was so quiet and secluded, as if it were just our own area. We also loved the surprise and fun of watching the rabbits and different kinds of birds in the yard. :-) Your instructions for everything, including pictures to the beach, were perfect! We loved this cabin. It was the perfect family getaway for our family of four. The view was amazing and the cabin was so warm and cozy. We were so lucky every time we wanted to do something it seemed like the weather cleared. We went crabbing, clamming, boogie boarding, hiking, saw the sea lions and the aquarium. And, tons of beaching!!! We had such a great time and are so very appreciative! Thank you Betsy and Chris for all the great info! Thanks again! Best Wishes.

We were very fortunate, even though it was raining like crazy when we first arrived there, the rest of the week went really well weather wise. It would usually rain in the morning, sometimes even hailing, but by noonish, the weather got better and the sun came out. The area around your beach home truly is beautiful. Our daughter especially enjoyed Ona Beach which had lots and lots of tide pools where she can play. The home was very clean and we felt instantly at home when we got there.

Every time we stay at the cabin, we love it even more. There's a beautiful view and a lot of opportunities to explore the Pacific Coast.Even though it was cold we enjoyed playing in the sand and getting our feet wet, walking along the beach, finding shells, and drawing with sticks. We went to Yachats to look around, stopped at Toad Hall, and enjoyed some delicious ice cream at the local ice cream and candy shop. We had a great time here and we are looking forward to our next visit. Thank You

Thank you so much for sharing your cozy refuge with us. We did not get any snow, but there was some ice mixed in with the rain. Very exciting! We have had some sun too. We settled into the king-sized bed covered in lighthouses. Wow! What a comfortable bed! In the morning we went crabbing! It was a gorgeous day! We caught 21 crabs and came back just in time to see a beautiful sunset while the water boiled for our feast. Afterwards we built a fire and chatted and we all agreed this is a very comfortable house and we wish we could stay a whole week!

Oh, My, what a wonderful, comfortable home! One of our favorite places is the Central Oregon Coast--and this was the 'best' week ever here! The only sadness is having to leave today (Saturday). We had 5 gorgeous "beach days"--temps in the 70's--no wind, perfect. Jim played a little golf, and Kathy read 4 books, knitted, beach combed, and totally relaxed! Yesterday celebrated 44th Anniversary--had "awesome" dinner at Georgie's in Newport. Much thanks to you Betsy and Chris. for your e-mails, and for sharing your wonderful home. We are so looking forward to actually meeting you both in Idaho over Thanksgiving--and hopefully will be able to once again be able to enjoy your awesome home! Thanks for a terrific locale from which we can experience the spectacular surroundings and view the sea non-stop. Managed to cook some fine meals in between trips to Cape Perpetua, The Overleaf Spa, and North to Newport as well. Great sunny weather allowed for nice afternoons on the beach and patio. It was fortunate to be so central to most things and conveniences. Looking forward to some time in this area in the future and will definitely recommend your abode to family and friends. I'm sitting at the table watching the waves come in. We have had such a wonderful few--too few--days here. We have eaten, slept, walked the beach and truly enjoyed very much being here in this warm cozy home!! The decorations and everything is just beautiful! We are hoping that next year we might want to spend a whole week here. We slept like we didn't need to wake up! The bed was so comfortable. You have certainly made our stay here easy by having so much at our fingers disposal. You have thought of everything. We just got back from a 45 minute walk on the beach. Thanks so much for a lovely, comfortable beach house. We have been away from Arizona for 3 months and your beach house felt like home when we walked in. This is our first trip to the ocean, so this was the best place to walk the beach without a crowd. We also loved your fireplace and the instant hot water for tea as it kept us warm and very comfy. We had great weather just a little cool for us Arizonans. The bed was great and glad we had a laundry right in the house. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Wow! The most beautiful week ever in our 15+ years of coming to the coast house! Even got a tan in Oregon! Did the usual hiking, golfing, and overeating, but enjoyed the great seafood--don't get much of that in Boise. Saw the mama doe and babies a lot, and the feisty little hummingbirds. Conrad found a golf buddy--Jim from Portland in the house across the driveway--they played at Agate Beach one day. Had one usual shopping trip to Lincoln City and will try to see some wineries on the way home. Love the nice washer/dryer and don't miss ol' "747"! Don't think we have slept so well in ages--great bed. Also love the trimmed coast pine trees (they look like a Japanese painting) and the new porch furniture. Thank you good friends, for making our lovely vacation possible. ps. added some new flowers to the beautiful bouquet that was here when we arrived! Thanks!

Betsy and Christ, it has been an excellent week. We couldn't have asked for better weather: sunny every day though a bit cool--upper 60's to mid 70's each day. My 84 year old mother was here for a couple of days. She enjoyed the walks on the beach. Your home is one of the best we have experienced through VRBO. You both take such pride in attending to the up-keep. The location is perfect. The beach on this section of the coast is splendid. Loved the long beach walks. Truly a wonderful get-away! Oh my gosh--Did we have a good time, relaxing, crabbing, and flying kites! We ended up with five "keepers" which they cooked for us right there on the docks (Waldport Old Town). July 10 to 14, 2011 Thank You, Betsy and Chris, for a wonderful cozy place to enjoy these 4 days! Your home was even nicer than we imagined. It was 'over the top'! We spent most of our time hiking, one supper on the beach with a driftwood fire, Devil's Churn at Cape Perpetua (several times), and looking for shells and agates. Some rain...some sunshine. We enjoyed it all! So good to be out of Phoenix heat these days. We appreciate your place.

June 27--July 1, 2011 My Minnesota grandsons love the "Oregon Cabin" and the beach. We had a great time playing on the beach, visiting "Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum", watching Ursula the octopus at Hatfield Marine Science Center, touching the tidepool creatures at the science center and Oregon Coast Aquarium, and climbing the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. They even caught small baby crabs, and met two boys at the Lighthouse Park rock play area. Great fun playing games on and around the rock! Solitaire card games and varied childrens' books also kept us occupied. Betsy and Chris were gracious hosts and outdid themselves with delicious food! Thank you so much! Happy Anniversary too! (You're very welcome! We enjoyed being with you, sis, and 'grand nephews'!)

May 4-5, 2011 Slept on beds so soft and comfy! Woke to gray skies but no wind. Took a long walk on the beach--dubbed it "sculpted beach" because of all the interesting sand projections with a rock or shell perched on the end. Spent a very relaxing day reading-loved the story of Sylvia Beach--couldn't read it all so will have to get a copy! Thanks for sharing this oh-so-comfortable house!

March 25-27, 2011 Had another great time (very relaxing) with my sisters. Our mom (89) could not make this trip. We surely missed her. Went into the antiques store in Newport. Wow that thing is huge (Hwy 101). Off and on rain until Sunday then it poured. Pounding surf--rain deluge. We love all the new things you have done to the house. The first time back after five years and the first time with Amanda! We all had a great time and enjoyed the beach. The girls had fun at the Cape Perpetua Visitors Center and a hike down to the tidepools followed by lunch with chowder at 'Mo's' in Florence. Yum! September 21-27, 2010 A beautiful week at the sea. Thank-you so much for sharing your lovely home. It certainly has everything that a person could want. I've had some sunny days and some rainy ones, which is perfect for me since I love both. I've been able to do all the things I love-- walk, hike, sit, read, write, knit, eat, and walk in the woods and by the ocean, all beautiful. Now I go back to the suburbs of Chicago, but I have a fresh memory in my mind and heart of all the beauty here to keep close.

August 30-Sept. 1, 2010 We've stayed in a lot of places, but none more comfortable or better organized! By "we"--from Fran and Del via/with Bev and Ned. First trip on the Oregon Coast--how beautiful! Recently to Eugene by way of 50 years in southern California. Great restaurants! By all means explore the Sylvia Beach Hotel at Nye Beach in Newport. Your house and the entire area merit a return! p.s Chowder Bowl at Nye Beach--worth a trip for lunch!

August 12-15, 2010 Once again, I have thoroughly relaxed at your "Oregon Cabin" as grandson Jackson calls it. The comforts are unsurpassed by most. Of course, nothing is better, except maybe the view from a 10,000 foot peak in Idaho, than the waves, sound and visual, and the sandy beach. I often think about the waves during the school year when I get stressed out from work. Thanks again for the memories, great food, and bed.

July 29--August 2---Sisters back for another Beach Getaway! The weather was fabulous---warm and sunny with no wind 2 days-- a little overcast but still nice on the other days. The family of deer came down and dined on vegetation in the yard. Beautiful creatures! The baby, who has a 'limpy-gait', came right up to the window. We got some great pictures. We went for long walks daily on a mostly empty beach-- so nice! Hiked the Giant Spruce Trail at Cape Perpetua. Drank sea breezes at Port Dock 1 with a view of the nutty sea lions.Dined at Whales Tale (Newport Bayfront)---such a great place!...had lunch at Drift Inn (Yachats)--wonderful place--nice staff, excellent food. And we cooked some nice meals here, drank lots of good wine. Sat on the deck in short sleeves one warm day. We marveled how comfortable the beds are... This home is socozy and homey--perfect for a relaxing time away from the city. We hope to return soon.

Thank You for a wonderful place to stay. We have really enjoyed our week here. We have had wonderful weather (except the wind, but that is to be expected). Your home is quite cozy and very well-kept. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay here. We have been all up and down the coast. We went to Tillamook (yummy!), The Aquarium (fun!), Beaches (Big Stump--yours, Agate, Neptune pullout, Strawberry Hill..), hunted for agates and shells, visited Cape Perpetua, Yaquina Head lighthouse, Heceta Head lighthouse, peeked at the Sea Lion Caves, but saw some sea lions off shore, so we didn't go down. We ate out 'way too much'. :-) Our favorite place was 'Local Ocean Seafood' on Newport's Bayfront east end, and 'Luna Sea' in Yachats. Explored tide pools and just had a 'TON of FUN'! Ooh, and we went crabbing too! We and our boys have had a wonderful time. Thanks for the great place to rest our heads after a LONG day of fun and exploration!

Thank You for offering such a wonderful home with all the amenities of the homes we left behind. Monday the 5th and Tuesday the 6th we experienced incredible weather. However those were the two days that we did the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Sea Lion Caves, Newport's Bayfront and other non-beach activities. Figuring that the weather would always be sunny and Fog Free. We are 'Native Oregonians' and we should have listened to our instincts and not taken the weather for granted. Wednesday through Friday--we were imbedded with Fog and Cold weather! We drove North til we saw a break in the weather and this was at Fogarty Creek and Boiler Bay that were just enough inland to offer sunshine and beach fun! Despite the Oregon weather, we had a wonderful time; 'but with every lemon, you have to find a way to make lemonade', and this cold weather offered lovely fires at night and relaxation watching movies. Thank you both again for offering such a lovely abode.

A restful and relaxing 3 days for us--just what we needed. Great weather (a sunburn for Dave), beach walks, whale spout watching, hiking at Cape Perpetua, reading/eating/drinking out on the deck. Thanks for providing all the comforts of home--including wireless Internet access we could keep up with friends and family (and have you answer a few or our questions online). This is a great spot, and we'll be keeping it on our list for future coast getaways.

This was a much needed break from work and caregiving...decompressing..destressing..delicious! How many naps are we allowed each day in that incredible bed? As many as we want--we're on holiday! First day was shirt-sleeve weather, and second day cleared in the afternoon--nice walks on the beach, read, slept, grazed, and enjoyed the quiet. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
