  We stayed at this flat for a week in March 09. The weather was great and we found Madrid to be a clean and beautiful city. The flat was clean, quiet, comfortable and just as nice as shown on the photographs. It is furnished more like a home than a holiday let. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and shops nearby. The Madrid Metro is reliable and frequent and so it is easy to get to any part of the city from the nearby stations. Finally the owner is friendly and helpful taking time to explain what is in the vicinity.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

  Owner response: The apartment has been our family home for years before we decided to move to the countryside. We still like to spend our leisure time walking around the nearby streets and squares when we need to "feel the town". It is really a lovely district.

  We are a family of six, and we had the pleasure if staying in this apartment. Andres is the perfect host. The neighborhood is safe and quiet - just a little removed from the more touristy neighborhoods so we felt we got to see a more 'real' picture of Madrid. We usually chose to come back to Chamberi and the neighborhood bars for our dinners. The grocery store is nearby. For transportation, we used the metro, bus and AVE. There is a small elevator in this building.

  We stayed here with our family of six for one week. It is a lovely apartment with quite a lot of living space. Andres was very helpful in arranging all the details. Since there were no guests before us, he allowed us to pay a bit more for an early morning check-in, which was great after a long flight. He met us at the apartment and showed us around, leaving a neighborhood map with some restaurant, market and bakery recommendations. There are at least two different metro lines within a few blocks, and it is easy to get everywhere from this location. We loved having a washer (a luxury in Europe!) and it was great to come home to a quieter residential area. We had a wonderful time in Madrid and the outlying areas, and would definitely stay here again.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Our family stayed in this apartment during our recent visit to Madrid. We found it very comfortable and convenient. It is well appointed and there was more than enough space for a family of 5. The photos on the website give an accurate representation of the property. The owner was helpful and efficient. I agree with other reviewers that the locks were a bit tricky but once you became used to them they were fine - the first time we tried to open the door to the building I thought we had been given the wrong key, but a little bit of jiggling did the trick. We walked to the Prado and other locations from the apartment and there are good amenities in the neighbourhood. We would recommend the apartment to anyone visiting Madrid.

  Location and comfort describe this beautiful apartment situated in a charming neighborhood in Madrid. Pedestrian friendly and convenient to the metro, train, bus line, and taxi service makes this the ideal place to explore Madrid and for day trips to neighboring sites. Its an easy walk to shopping of all kinds; grocery, clothing, even starbucks is close by. The local bars and restaurants serve up wonderful authentic cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. The apartment is clean, quiet, and modern yet warm and comfortable. It features an updated kitchen and 2 large bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable and the three bedrooms are away from the living areas.The owner is very accommodating. The one and only negative is mastering the door locks. They are secure but require just the right touch which can be frustrating but very manageable. Will definitely stay here again.

  5 of us stayed in this wonderful apartment for a long weekend. The apartment is impecably clean and actually much bigger than the photos appear. It is equiped with everything that one would require. Andres was incredibly friendly and helpful and met us at the apartment. He went through everything with us and recommended local restaurants etc. He also provided us with his phone number should we need to contact him. The apartment was very easy to find and is in a wonderful vibrant area. The square at the end of the street has fantastic places to eat and drink and is definately worth a look. Taberna la mina which is directly underneath the apartment is a great place to start the evening with a drink and the owner is very friendly. The metro stations are all within easy walking distance and all the main attractions are easily reached. This was our second visit to Madrid and staying in this apartment gave us a fantastic new experience. We would definately stay here again when returning to this wonderful city and would recommend it to anyone intending to visit Madrid. Thanks again to Andres for making our stay extra memorable.

  Myself and five friends had a wonderful three nights in Madrid. Such a beautiful and friendly city. The weather was warm and sunny. Our favourite place was the municiple park where we spent a whole afternoon just walking. The apartment was everything we expected. Spotlessy clean with a lovely lounge area which we took full advantage of during the evenings to drink cava after returning from dinner. A very pleasant half hour walk took us into the main tourist area. The apartment wasmeasily reached by using the metro from the airport. We did not arrive until 11.30 pm but the owner was waiting for us on arrival.He gave us several recommendations on where to eat. Gino's restaurant was delightful and ended up going twice. A big 'thank you' to the owner of the aprtment, Andres, for making our stay in Madrid most memorable.

  This is a lovely apartment, very well appointed and comfortable. We loved the location, not touristy, but an easy walk to major sites. Guests should definitely walk down to the Plaza Olivades, eat at a sidewalk cafe, and enjoy the music. The owner was excellent to work and very helpful. This was a wonderful location for our party of 6 to base our tour of Mardid and the region.

  Our family with 4 children had a wonderful stay in this apartment. It fit us perfectly. It was the perfect launching pad for visiting family in the area, traveling by bus and subway, playing in the park, and eating churros at El Brillante. There are great shops in the area and a grocery store and market nearby. A very easy area to learn your way around. The apartment was clean and tidy. There was a crib and high chair for our toddler, which was a huge help! We would for sure stay here again!

  Four adults stayed in this lovely apartment for our one week visit to Madrid. We only wished we had a month there. It was very comfortable and well appointed. Only drawback for one of the couples was that the second bedroom was quite small with no closet. Luckily for us the third bedroom, which we didn't require, became our "dressing room" so it all worked out just fine. The owner was delightful, helpful and available. The neighborhood couldn't have been nicer or more convenient. We found a terrific bar/cafeteria that we became "regulars" of, El Brilliante, which was two blocks away and open whenever we needed a succulent fried calamari baguette and a cerveza!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
