Angora Highlands house description
This is a beautifully appointed home in the best neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe! We have equipped our second home with only the best, giving it a cozy yet elegant home-away-from-home feel.
We offer quiet seclusion surrounded by tree-filled empty lots yet we are only 9 miles from the Heavenly and Sierra-at-Tahoe for winter play and only 0.6 miles to Fallen Leaf Lake for the summer. The Angora Lakes Road begins less than a quarter mile from our house. There are many wonderful hiking, skiing, snowmobile, and mountain bike trails through the woods starting just down the road from our house. Great access to downtown South Lake (three miles to the 'Y') and the casinos are 8 miles away.
Our four bedroom, two and a half bath home sleeps nine comfortably.
We also have two sleeper sofas. Double garage plus driveway accommodates four vehicles. We provide snow removal service.
Enter on the split level. Upstairs is one queen-size room and downstairs are the master bedroom suite with jacuzzi and king-sized bed, one queen and a 'bunk room' with a set of bunkbeds and an additional twin. We provide all top quality linens and towels. We also make it easy for young families with a pak-n-play and highchair provided along with a removable gate for the steps and plenty of toys and games.
With Mount Tallac as a backdrop, the deck is a centerpiece for socializing year round with a six-person Hot Springs hot tub. During the summer, enjoy our patio furniture and barbecue grill.
There are two family rooms - one with HDTV and seating for eight and the other is a TV-free family room with fireplace - plenty of options for all. Leather sofas throughout. The master bedroom and one of the queens also have HDTVs. The kitchen is fully-equipped, with spacious room and expansive granite countertops to host a team of chefs. The farmhouse table seats eight with another three accomodated at the adjacent kitchen bar.
We have a wireless, high speed network.
Please note that we can accept payment by credit card via PayPal.
We strongly prefer family rentals. We strictly do not rent to parties under 25 years old.

We would consider dogs in certain circumstances. Our neighbor owns a pet sitting business (Creature Comforts) and we would highly recommend using her to ensure your dog is not left inside alone for too long....moreless

A great place to stay!
A great place to stay!
We rented this property for New Year's and we had a great time! It is very cosy, clean and well-maintained. It is close to everything and we actually liked the fact that we were not in downtown South Lake Tahoe! The property looks better in person than the listing photos. The house was fully equipped and we did not miss anything. We had two infants with us and we appreciated the baby gear and the fact that everything was so baby proof. The owner was very nice and helpful and we would definitely be staying there again! Thank you for sharing your house with us!:-)

this is our 4th stay at this property. we have been up 3 winters and 2 summers. the first visit was with a group consisting of 4 couples and the other trips with our children and other families. this is a gorgeous house. wether you are coming up with just adults or you are here with your family. the house is great for entertaining. our visits are always pleasant. the house offers every amenity we need. wireless, a fully equipped kitchen, a 3rd story deck with stunning views (we love hot tubing in the middle of the trees), barbecue, spa bath, a few lounging areas. our visits are always the same... cooking, drinking wine, hiking, snowboarding, hot tubing, just general hanging out. there are loads of trails close by for hiking. you are a 5-7 minute drive from the Y. the property has hardwood floors, is clean, cozy, spacious, and sunny. it is not too traditional and not too modern. the location is in a nice neighborhood close to fallen leaf lake. after staying in some of the grotty neighborhoods in the heart of south lake tahoe, we were very pleased to find this gem. we recommend it highly.

My husband and I love this beautiful home! It's comfortable, spacious, cozy and conveniently located. As someone who loves to cook, it’s so exciting to come upon a place that has all the kitchen appliances, cookware, etc that you’ll ever need to make a delicious meal. The owners also provide a folder at the house full of information on restaurants, hiking trails, events and things to do in the Tahoe area. Highlights include having a picnic in Fallen Leaf lake (which is less than a mile away) and hiking around Echo Lake (which is one of the most gorgeous hikes we've ever taken). The house is ideal for a group of friends or a large family. We're already looking forward to our next stay there!

The house is gorgeous...and perfect in every way... For two workaholics...with laptops in tow...what a pleasure to have easy internet access... Just enough of a slope in the back yard for a sled run... I think the snow-blower was going within 5 minutes of arriving... A true big boys toy...!!! We will be back...!!! Thanks!!!

This house is great! It has every amenity for a perfect stay. The location is quiet yet easy access to groceries, etc. My family stayed here and it is great for kids. I love how the house is cozy but still feels roomy. We look forward to staying here again.

Lovely house - beautiful, comfortable, big enough to find a quiet spot or join up with friends for a BBQ! I won't be staying anywhere else when I go to Tahoe, this place has it all. And for those of you who haven't tried Tahoe in the summer, it's a real treat - good golf, great hiking, refreshing lake swimming, topped off by cool nights in the huge hot tub off the living room! Thank you for sharing your home, it makes my stay in Tahoe a real vacation every time I go, Dana

You know when you really need to relax? Well, this beautiful home in the Mountains of Tahoe gives you every opportunity to get your fun on at Sierra Tahoe resort during the day and kick back comfortably in the jacuzzi at night. Perfect for 2 families to share, lovely living space, lots of natural light, all the essentials and more. Easy in and out from the highway. Definate spot to visit and revisit!

Thanks for the wonderful vacation in your cozy mountain home last winter. Cruised some fun groomers at Sierra one day and found some fresh powder at Kirkwood the next. Really liked the proximity to the mountains and the rest of the South Lake scene, but it's just removed enough to enjoy the peacefulness of the forest. Not sure my joints could have withstood the weekend without the nightly soaks under the stars in the hot tub, either. Thanks again, looking forward to the next trip.

We loved the house. It was very well furnished and stocked...everything was perfect. It is close to Sierra, Kirkwood and Heavenly and only minutes from the State Line. Our family will certainly stay here every time we visit Tahoe.

About the owner: We live in the Bay Area. We have two young sons and a chocolate lab. Jess is from Virginia and has lived all over the world. Joe is from Ireland and immigrated in the late 80s.
Why the Owner Chose Angora Highlands:
Wonderful location in a wooded setting with empty lots all around. We love the neighborhood and the proximity to Fallen Leaf Lake.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy the house as much as possible ourselves and have appointed it as our second home, not a rental. We screen our renters carefully because it is more important that they enjoy and take care of our house more than it is important to keep the occupancy high.
