Marion cabin description
This beautiful lakefront log cabin is located within the gated mountain log home community of Hidden Lake. It sits approx. 10 miles south of the town of Marion, NC below the I-40 interchange, and off of Hwy 226S. Cabin sits on the private 10 acre fishing lake within the community. Home is adjacent to the lakeside boardwalk and common area that has a seasonal inground pool & poolhouse (with shower & bathroom facilities) that overlooks the lake. The front porch has wooden rocking chairs, perfect for enjoying the natural surroundings. Deer & wild turkey often seen in wooded areas!
Home is decorated with rustic log cabin furnishings and is 3 levels. Master bedroom and bath are on the second level, along with a large loft area overlooking the great room. The master bath has a garden tub with separate shower and a double vanity. There is a TV located in the master bedroom, which has a king size bed. Both the master bedroom and loft open to an outside deck area, with views of the lake. There is also a combination air hockey/pool table (that flips over) in the loft area for kids - or those young at heart!
The main level features a guest bedroom with queen size bed, full bath, kitchen, dining area that seats 6, and great room with leather furnishings, TV and gas fireplace. The kitchen has all modern appliances, including coffee pot (and filters) and is stocked with all the comforts & necessities of home. There is a large screened in porch with dining and seating for 6 just off the dining room. The great room opens to more outside deck areas, which includes a gas grill and more deck chairs.
In the lower level are 2 additional bedrooms and a full bath. A washer and dryer are available for guests use. The family room here features a large screen TV and DVD player. Leather furnishings also decorate this room. One of the guest bedrooms opens out to an exterior patio overlooking the lake, as does the family room. One of the bedrooms has a full-size bed, while the other features 2 twin beds with a trundle bed that pulls out from underneath one of them. There is also a nice selection of books and games to enjoy as well!
This home is fully equipped with all linens, towels, and kitchen items that you will need. A starter supply of paper products, dish/laundry detergents, and trash bags is provided. You will need to provide any extras, along with your own bath soap, shampoo, etc. This cabin has all the luxuries of being at your very own home. Set in a wooded area, it has a very cozy feel to it, while being situated in a quieter area of the community.
Guests also have full use of all common areas within the community to include the Lakeside boardwalk & fishing dock. Swimming in the lake is NOT permitted, and fishing is catch & release only. If you have your own canoe or kayak, you are welcome to bring that with you, as there are no boats to use or rent at the lake area. The lake is not large enough for motorized boats of any type. Additional fishing, boating and swimming beaches are available at Lake James State Park, approx. 25 minutes from us.
There is a seasonal inground pool and poolhouse with bathroom facilities. And there are some picnic areas with grills both at the Lakeside Park and the smaller Streamside Park. There is even a small playground area for younger children. The community also has designated walking trails for you to enjoy. Local area information, attractions, brochures, menus & maps are provided in the home to help you find your way around more easily.
We regret that we are unable to accept pets of any type. This is also a non-smoking residence.

yearly getaway to a fabulous cabin
yearly getaway to a fabulous cabin
My sisters, mom and niece have been joining me for several years now at this same cabin and each year is more enjoyable that the last. We have booked to come back again next year. We love the peace and quiet of the location, yet it is not to far from town so that we can go out and about. All the amenities are amazing we only have to bring our food and bathing suits. We love going to the pool we can walk down the road or drive.

There's gold in them mountains!
We loved the house and the location. The lake and woods were beautiful and very peaceful. There was lots of room to relax on the large decks. The screened in porch with a great view of the woods and Hidden Lake was a real treat. We spent lots of time there just relaxing and talking. The things we wanted to do like gold prospecting were close by, and we found gold, it was wonderful! It was great to come back to a hot shower and good home cooked meal in a kitchen that had everthing we needed. When we come back to NC we will stay at Hidden Lake again. We all give two thumbs up! Thanks for everthing!

My family and I stayed at the cabin in late March/early April of 2011. We had a family emergency in NC and had to find somewhere that could accommodate our family. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations or service. We contacted the property manager, Teresa on a Saturday and were at the cabin on Tuesday! The property is much more that can be conveyed on a website and Teresa couldn't have been more helpful. Upon arrival we found the cabin to be well stocked and very clean with everything in order. The location is superb for quiet and relaxation, which is exactly what we needed. If I could rate the property with more than five stars, I would give it 100! Thank you Teresa, you will remain in our hearts for your kindness and thoughtfulness! Steve and Pat Traverse City, MI

Our family stayed at this rental back in October of 2008. I am so glad that VRBO is now accepting reviews of the rentals. Our stay there was absolutely magnificent. More than we ever expected. The house was immaculate. Everything was organized and included all the amenities that we needed. We are looking forward to our next trip there and we always recommend this rental to all of our friends.

We stayed in your beautiful cabin the week of 4/12/09 - The moment we stepped through the door it felt like a home away from home. All expectations were exceeded...the cabin was extremely clean, comfortable and BIG! The Hidden Lake community is beautiful, we enjoyed our walks each morning and the mountain views were breathtaking. My 3 year old is still asking when we are going to return to "his new home". We miss the cabin and can't wait to plan our next trip to Hidden Lake. The Fowler Family - Keith, Kelli, Nicholas, Nathan and Cody

We really enjoyed our time spent in your beautiful log cabin. We had a family reunion with relatives coming from Florida, Colorado, Tennessee, and North Carolina, some for the day, some overnight. The cabin was the perfect setting, and offered plenty of room for each family unit that stayed there. We hope to come back again soon!

This was our 4th time staying in Hidden Lake this year. My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniv. the weekend of Aug.24-26. It's a very nice, comfy, quiet cabin where you can sit back, relax and enjoy plenty of BBQ's!We loved the deck off the master bedroom. Theresa always does an immaculate job of maintaining the cabins where you feel like you're the first renter!By the way, you're not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Lake James and so many other things to do.(It's hard to leave the cabin to go out and do touristy things!)
