Enjoy panoramic views with breathtaking sunrises over the river and its islands. Surrounded by 2 acres of woods and fields, this cottage provides plenty of privacy, peace and quiet. Watch the variety of wildlife that frequent the area -- eagles, osprey, seagulls, heron, geese, and deer -- from the patio. Launch your canoe or kayak from the dock in our private tidal cove (from mid-tide to mid-tide) and explore miles of open water. If you don't have your own kayak, rental facilities are nearby.
This waterfront retreat features a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings and décor, open living and dining room with sliding glass doors to the patio and lawn, where you can enjoy the breeze or just take in the view. A small bedroom (double bed), bathroom, and laundry facilities complete the first floor. Located just north of the historic town of Bath, this cottage is centrally located to take advantage of Mid-Coast Maine's numerous attractions and activities. Brochures provided in the cottage will help you choose from many opportunities. Maine's 2 most beautiful ocean beaches -- Reid State Park in Georgetown and Popham Beach State Park in Phippsburg -- are within 20 minutes. Watch the lobster boats come and go at the picturesque fishing village of Five Islands and enjoy a casual lobster dinner right on the wharf.
Bath and the surrounding towns offer many delightful restaurants, from casual to 5-star, and dozens of antique shops, boutiques and galleries. The Maine Maritime Museum is just south of town and offers boat trips down the Kennebec River. Nearby are Brunswick, home of Bowdoin College; Freeport, home of L.L.Bean and dozens of upscale outlet shops; Wiscasset, a pretty, historic village along the Sheepscot River; and Boothbay Harbor, where you can catch a tour boat to watch seals, whales and puffins, or sail on a schooner along the picturesque coast.
