Having never been to Hilton Head prior to this vacation I was pleasantly surprised with the house especially with its proximity to the beach, literally a five minute walk. There was a welcome pack of soaps etc. sufficient linen for all. Internet was good for all devices which makes life easier when the kids are happy. The pool area was relaxing both during the day and evening with a nice outlook over the pond which we took advantage of by casting a line or two in hope of a catch (no luck). We hired bikes and had the daily ritual of the 5 mile ride to the Caligny Centre for breakfast and fresh supplies. In the evening a short cycle ride to the Salty Dog tavern for a relaxing drink and listen to the singer strumming his guitar. All in all a great vacation and we look forward to retuning again.

Have rented this house for a week every summer for 3 years. Great house, super location. House is very bright and airy, nicely furnished and supplied. Pool area is delightful. Beach very close, and all the restaurants and entertainment of South Beach a short walk. Maintenance crew is always available and overly helpful if needed.

The property was lovely, a great getaway - an easy walk to the beach or a convenient dip in the pool. We were with our two year old daughter and had a great week. I was worried about the smell but do not feel it had a mildewy smell. It was very lovely - lots of sun and cheery. We loved walking to the ocean and to the nearby Marina, where we took a dolphin cruise and visited the parrots. There were many daytrips with a short car ride, and we had a great trip. If we were to return to Hilton Head (we enjoy traveling new places so that's never a sure thing.) A couple little caveats - I haven't rented a beach house before that didn't provide at least 3-4 beach chairs and towels, at least at the beginning of the season. We did buy one chair and left it behind but would have preferred to not make room in the suitcase for the towels. Also, one dish towel didn't seem enough for a week, though with a two year old, we did do enough laundry anyway. Suitcase room on the plane was the only real issue here. But the positive so much outweighed the negative. The house was comfortable and spacious. The floor plan was great, and if we plan to return to the area, I think we would return.

Owner response: Just wanted to clarify, there are plenty of house towels. Each bedroom has four bath towels, 4 regular towels and several wash clothes. In the past I have supplied bicycles, beach chairs and beach towels- the bikes quickly rusted out, and the chairs and beach towels quickly disappeared. You can rent beach chairs inexpensively on the beach.

Returned from our Hilton Head stay yesterday. Wanted to drop a note of thanks. House was very comfortable, great access to beach, South Beach marina, etc. Nice having pool and pond within the yard. We enjoyed good weather and had a restful stay. Our thanks to you and will contact you concerning our next visit to Hilton Head. With kindest regards. Tom

I stayed for 5 days at this home. We were a party of 6. We were very comfortable. The location was perfect. House was clean and in working order. House had a lot of sun and all the amenities we could possibly need. I plan to stay here again at this same house at the end of the summer. I nightly recommend staying at this home,!!!

Property review of #94750 Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines
Property review of #94750 Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines
We were very disappointed in this property. The owner has not appropriately maintained this home. It is badly in need of a new coat of paint throughout. There is a mildew smell in the home. The bathrooms smell of mildew. The pool was not cleaned during the week we stayed. The owner did not accurately represent the features of the home. It was stated that there was a hot tub for use, but it was drained. The Wi Fi internet access was not working and the owner would not help us and gave us inaccurate information. The garbage disposal broke on Day 2 of our stay and was not repaired. The slider door screens were off 3 out of 4 sliding doors when we arrived. The bedrooms had no access to fresh air. The owner is overcharging for a property that he is not appropriately maintaining. Would not return.

Owner response: Extremely difficult people. They were very upset that the hot tub was not available (website clearly states available only for winter months) and that they couldn't get the internet to work-but most of what they wrote is just not true. There is no mildew or other unpleasant smell in the house. It is professionally cleaned before and after each guest, and "deep cleaned' each March (which was completed shortly before their stay). The rugs and furniture are steamed cleaned three times a year, more if needed. The interior was repainted two years ago (house was gutted and completely redone, everything new, 6 years ago). I communicated with them by Email and telephone several times during their stay, as did the management company (the management company actually was at the house to fix the screen) and they never mentioned any cleanliness issues. As to the other matters: They stated that the bedrooms had no access to fresh air- each bedroom has a wall to wall full length sliding glass door! Internet: Here's an Email I sent them about the internet:"I just called Time Warner and spoke to a service rep. They said the modem is working fine, and therefore the problem is probably with your computer. They said they can fix it over the phone, but someone has to be at the house at your computer to troubleshoot it. Their number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. The account is under my name. They'll ask you for a four digit code- it's xxxxx." I guess they never bothered to call them. The internet has worked fine for every other guest. Here's what the management company Emailed me:" I didn’t hear from this guest about the garbage disposal, which was jammed by something they put into it. They only called about the patio screen and we went out to take care of it and they had already put it back on the track. It was the guest you have in-house now that called me Sunday about the disposal. We went out to fix it Monday. The other renters never said a word about any smell and they left the house a mess. The house absolutely has no smell and is very clean and shows well." The house has been an extremely popular rental, with many returning guests, and a great deal of positive feed back. Obviously, if the house was in the condition these people claimed there would be many negative reviews. Unfortunately positive response comes in the form of Emails or telephone calls, and I feel uncomfortable to impose upon people to actually write a review for this web site.
Just stayed at the house for a week. The owner asked me to write a review because apparently someone had made some negative comments about the pool and hot tub. Both worked perfectly during our stay, hot tub was hot, pool was toasty. By the way, the house is terrific. Very comfortable, everything top of the line - like staying at an expensive hotel. Location was great- right across from the beach, and very close to the marina at South Beach.

Spent spring break week recently. Generally clean and decently maintained with the exception of pool and hot tub. The separate hot tub was inoperable and not clean. Pool heat was sketchy at best-set at 85 deg but could only muster b/w 75-80 deg. May be a decent rental for the summer if pool heat is not needed. This was our 6th visit to HHI & Sea Pines over spring break and I would not stay at this place again. There are better places to stay nearby!

Owner response: This is what renter Emailed me when he first arrived: "Moved in this afternoon and place is generally in good condition; however, spa is broken and parts to fix may be here Tues. Secondly, pool is only up to 82 deg and is set at 88 deg." The electric heater for the spa was broken and has been replaced with a brand new heater. The pool heat was never in the 75-80 range as can be seen by renters own words above. However, freon was added to the pool heat pump and now it is at its target temperature of 85 degrees. Renter was looking for a substantial rental reduction and threatened to write a bad review if he didn't get it.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Very close to the beach-In addition to daytime use, I often go there for a morning and sunset walk. Most houses close to the beach are boxed in by other houses-this one has a great view of the lagoon. Short walk around lagoon to shops, restaurants and entertainment at South Beach Marina.
