Kauai Beachfront Condo in the Pono Kai Resort!

  We were fortunate to spend one month in this great condo. It was clean, spacious, and had every single thing you would need plus things we never used. The condo has a balcony with a great ocean view where we watched the whale go by. The bike path is right out front, goes for 5 miles. We rented bikes from Coconut Coasters. Along the bike path are food trucks, all good for lunch DeFries has the best garlic butter shrimp and shaved ice. The beach is right out front. Downtown is right there but without the traffic noise. Happy Hour at Olympic Cafe and Backyard were walking distance. There is lots to do on the island. Take every road to the end. Wear your swim suits at all time cause there are so many opportunities for a great beach. This condo supplies cooler, chairs, beach towels, sand blankets, etc, take them with you. Since this condo is located almost midway on the island, it is so easy to get where you want to go. So go to Ke'e beach which is part of the tunnels, best snorkeling. Go to Wiamea Canyon and then on past until the road ends. Poi'pu is a must and if you get a chance to eat at the Beach House, go for happy hour and watch the sunset. No need to take snorkeling gear, the condo has a set, but you can rent really cheap at the bike store. Buy sunscreen and anything else you need at Longs Drug or drive to Lihue to the Walmart, prices are good. Grocery stores are a very short drive. The staff at the complex were so nice and helpful. Everyone on the island is very nice and the island is clean. You can not go wrong with this rental. Dave was very helpful and transaction was easy. Our son and daughter in law came for one week and we slept on the sofa bed. We found it very comfortable. Wifi worked great the whole time we were there too. Perfect month on Kauai.

  We spent 3 weeks at this great condo. It is in good shape and clean and well equipped. Except for the view it is as advertised. The view exceeds what we expected. There is a 4mile waterfront walkway, and a bicycle rental store right next to the complex. The little town has many great shops and art galleries. We had a great time and would certainly stay there next time we go to Kauai.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

  We really enjoyed the Pono Kai! The complex was clean and very welcoming for a family. And just in front of the amazing paved bikepath. The view on the lanai was awesome. The condo was clean and big enough. We had everything we need...except good boogie boards. I really recommend it. You won't find such a great view for the price!

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We were also very impressed by the number of amenities that your unit provided, especially in the kitchen - you had everything we needed. Thank you again for a great stay.   This condo is ideally situated in the Pono Kai Resort, away from the main highway and close to the ocean (and bike path), so it is quiet and provides a great ocean view. Even though the resort is older, it is clean and well maintained. This resort is probably the best value on the island. It is close to the airport, and withing walking distance to several restaurants. The main grocery stores are a short drive away so it is easy to get stocked up on food. This unit is well maintained and has everything needed for a week long stay. The only issue we had is that the pillows smelled a little musty. This area of Kauai is very humid and this appears to be the reason for the pillows being musty. Note that this unit does NOT have air conditioning. Many of the units in the complex have been upgraded with air conditioning. But just open the windows, turn on the fans and the condo cools off quickly.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  Mike and I would like to thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with us. We had such a wonderful time. We called it home while we were there, and took good care of it. It is so hard to come back home and get in the swing of things again, especially here in Washington where the weather is still chilly and rainy. We just feel very fortunate and blessed that we were able to get away to such a beautiful place. Thanks again!
