I've been doing a lot of WORK THIS FALL and early winter to the Flamingo! Replaced the old sofa\bed with a new sofa\queen bed. New over the stove Microwave Oven. Best of all a New KING SIZE Bed for the MASTER Bedroom!!
Oh and I also put a 40" FLAT SCREEN TV in the Living Room and a 32" FLAT SCREEN TV in the Master Bedroom!!

It's time to get away for some down time at Surfside Beach!! Whether you and a significant other or a family outing to the beach The Flamingo is what you are looking for.
We have it all: three bedrooms, two full baths, washer and dryer, appliances and bedding. We have a large kitchen where more than one person can be the COOK! Check out the pictures below! [These weren't taken years ago either]
Hey enough of the stuff to make your stay comfortable. Best of all the Flamingo is a ROOMY second row beach house with a view of the beach from our GREAT COVERED DECK! Cross a PRIVATE ROAD and our COMMUNITY BOARDWALK TAKES YOU RIGHT TO THE BEACH. JUST A FEW EASY STEPS (see picture) and YOU'RE ON THE BEACH!!
The Flamingo sleeps approximately 12 people. The Master has a New King Size Bed & 2nd Bedroom has a Queen Bed & a Double Bed. The 3rd Bedroom has 2 twin size bunk beds.
Our favorite place of all is our FANTASTIC COVERED DECK. As you can see in the picture it runs the full length of the front of the house. We also have plenty of deck chairs for you to enjoy!
Then we have the downstairs. With a cement floor and the Grill it can be it's own party. So come visit the Flamingo for a long weekend, a full week or longer. Enjoy the most convenient beach to Houston where the biggest traffic jam is waiting on a Great Hamburger at Kitty's Purple Cow.

Why the Owner Chose Surfside Beach
I've been going down to Surfside for YEARS and it's one of the few beach communities that remains "OLD SCHOOL". You don't have the high rise condos like Galveston, Corpus Christi or South Padre Island! You can even drive on the beach! Even though a lot has changed over the years Surfside Beach still retains unique character. Plus it's only an hour or so from Houston; so if you want a quick getaway it's PERFECT!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Even-though I rent my beach house I also use it! So I do a lot to keep it up and not just keep it as Rental Property like its some business!
The Flamingo is on a very small and quiet cul d sac with only 6 houses on the street. Since there's no through traffic it's perfect for the kids to play around without worrying about a lot of traffic. Also you cross the street, go in-between the houses across the street and there's a common boardwalk that takes you right to the BEACH!! The Flamingo is perfect for up to approx. 12 people. There a 3 bedrooms, a large living room, kitchen,& nook. You don't get that cramped in feeling. However, my favorite feature in the great deck. Lots of room and it's shaded in the afternoon. I think I have the perfect beach house. Not too fancy, but still with all the conveniences you could want! Take a look for yourself.
This is a Great Place to eat. Mainly very fresh seafood and not just Fried! Give it a try. When I'm down on the island I usually try to get there!!
Very nice new Cafe that has a great deck and is right on the beach. It's only a short walk up the beach.(Turn Right) Very nice place to have something to eat or just a drink on the patio overlooking the Beach!! We usually head down there once we get settled!!

I grew up in Houston and when I was in Junior and Senior High we used to always come down to Surfside Beach & Galveston to go surfing. Later on we would come down to sail our Hobie Cat and just hang out at the beach. As Galveston got more and more crowded we started going to Surfside only! We always looked at the cool houses on stilts and thought it would really be nice to spend the whole day at the beach & not worry about driving all the way back to Houston! Finally a few years ago we bought "The Flamingo" to do just that and decided to rent it to meet some of the expenses.
Even though I rent The Flamingo I also use it whenever I can! It's about an hour drive door to door from my house in Houston and we'll take off early on a Friday or any other day for that matter and run down for the night. You can't beat it!!

We have rented the Flamingo twice now, once in October for the weekend at the last minute, Joe was great to work with and again for the week after Christmas. Both times everything was great! The weather in October was wonderful, no crowds, 80 degrees, cool nights. The week after Christmas it was a little chilly but we still managed to enjoy the beach and the house. Great getaway for after Christmas. This house has everything you need, very well equipped and makes the trip fun and relaxing. Thank you Joe for allowing is to enjoy your wonderful beach house... we will be booking a week in the summer soon.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

We have rented other beach houses in surfside. We LOVED Flamingo!!! VERY short walk to beach (no roads to cross). Very nice extremely spacious for beach house LOVED the deck! very nice layout!!! Joe was great to deal with, very quick to return deposit, we will definently rent Flamingo again! Very good deal for the money! Our family had a blast! We have six kiddos and from the teenager (15) to the baby 6 mths they loved the time there! The kdis were happy, Mom and Dad were happy can't get better than that! Thanks Joe! We will be "seeing" you again Flamingo!
