This antique lovely holiday villa, with private pool is situated in Tuscany , in the hills above Anghiari , surrounded by softly rolling hills, cultivated fields, and woodlands that bear witness to the strongly agrarian character of Italy through the centuries - a past which has marked the land as clearly as it has shaped the people who continue to work it.
Located twenty minutes drive east of Arezzo, the property is in easy reach of towns rich in art and history, including Sansepolcro (birthplace of Piero della Francesca and proud keeper of some of his most famous paintings), Anghiari, Monterchi, Citerna, Città di Castello, and Caprese Michelangelo. Slightly farther afield, but still within day-trip range are Florence, Assisi, Gubbio, Cortona, and a chain of sanctuaries built by Saint Francis and his followers, who sought out wild places of great natural beauty in which to meditate and give thanks.
Off the beaten track of the mass tourist market, this property, is nevertheless, at the center of Renaissance Tuscany, offering easy access to the hill towns, museums, craftsmen, restaurants, wine and specialty food shops that make this part of Italy so famous. Its particular appeal is to offer a tranquil country setting, yet with many of the conveniences offered by a well-run country hotel, including short distance from a country road, and a range of possible services and facilities, such as nearby tennis courts, swimming lessons, horseback riding, mountain biking, guided museum and artisan tours. On the grounds are a playground for children and a bocce court.
Excellent children's facilities: On request pram, travel cots, baby baths with head rest, high chairs, potties, sterilising units, food processor, baby listeners and play pens can be provided. Baby sitting available (please book at least 48 hours in advance) Certified horse riding centre specialised in children's lessons nearby.
The house combines the traditional materials of Tuscan farm architecture - huge, chestnut beams, terracotta floors, stone and painted plaster walls—with all the modern conveniences. The spacious rooms have been furnished with classic Tuscan furniture, made from chestnut and wrought iron, including family pieces that recall an earlier era of Italian country life. In order to offer choice in price and size of accommodations, Villa Ferraguzzo has been divided into three separate apartments for groups ranging from 8-14 people, with prices adjusted accordingly.
It is handicapped accessible. The Lido and Luca who own the house live in the neighbouring village and will be around to make sure you have everything you need.
Each also has a full-service kitchen with dishwasher, and is outfitted with fine linens, towels, hairdryers, and kitchen equipment. In addition to the main house, there is a separate, restored farm building nearby that includes a large country kitchen, living and dining space with open fireplace for parties, birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations. Discounts are available for people wishing to celebrate important events at Villa Ferraguzzo.This Countrhy house is ideal for family groups as it is composed of several smaller villas. It is a comfortable well-furnished property with an excellent position for sightseeing trips to both Tuscany and Umbria.
Upon request, our cooks can prepare meals at the house, allowing guests to experience the pleasures of traditional Tuscan cooking in comfort and seclusion. The owners of Villa Ferraguzzo can also organize cooking courses at the Buitoni estate near Sansepolcro (the Buitoni family being internationally famous for pasta production) their 18th century villa provides an elegant reminder of the glories of Italy - past and present. A further glimpse of the rich popular traditions of the area are provided in Villa Ferraguzzo's small museum, which contains a collection of photographs of peasant life and work in the surrounding valleys.
Situated in the midst of approximately 74 acres of farmlands and forests, the house is surrounded by spectacular, ancient oaks shading meandering stone walls, terraces and flowered walkways that create a welcoming park-like setting, perfect for outdoor barbecuing, dining and lounging. To the side of the house, is an elegant 18 meter by 6 meter swimming pool, providing a beautiful retreat for both relaxation and exercise after a day of sightseeing and shopping in the nearby hill towns.
Spring is the best period for an extraordinary experience in the Tuscany countryside, Ferraguzzo is the perfect location for walking, biking in the nature, shopping in the factory store of Prada and Gucci, visit the main Italian city as Siena, Florence, Rome, Assisi, Gubbio, Pisa in maximum of 100 km.

With memories of two fabulous holidays in Ferraguzzo in 2006 and 2007, we returned this July, to spend one week with 3 generations of family and a second week with our previous travel companions - 12 adults and children in all. It was just as lovely as we remembered - Lido, Luca and Osanna were as warmly welcoming as ever, and showed all the attention to detail that had impressed us so much before. This time we stayed in the new, second, house (we were the first guests!), which was beautiful - decorated and furnished in traditional Tuscan style, with an immaculate bathroom for each bedroom. A particular pleasure was eating al fresco on the raised terrace, with beautiful views over the gardens and pool and the surrounding countryside (wheat fields, sunflowers etc) - over the fortnight we watched the wheat being harvested, and our youngest child was thrilled to enjoy a tractor ride as part of the process! The new pool was spotlessly clean and surprisingly warm, and we all enjoyed the whirpool jets; as the temperature varied between 32 and 40 degrees, we spent a lot of time relaxing around the pool and terrace, and the setting could not be more beautiful. A highlight of our stay was the fantastic Tuscan banquets provided by our hosts - we indulged in several of these! Also, a short climb up a track behind the villa takes you through idyllic countryside to an excellent hilltop restaurant with spectacular views - well worth the walk, though you could also drive by a different route. The bocce and table tennis provided shady amusement for all of us, aged 6 to 76, and we managed one game of tennis on the nearby court before flopping back to the pool!Did you find this review helpful? Last autumn my wife and I started talking about the summer holiday 2011. We started looking for a house to rent in Tuscany and she found Villa Ferraguzzo by “accident”. This villa looked too good to be true but she submitted a price request immediately. This villa was just what we had in mind as the whole family, ourselves, our two sons and their families, wanted to go. Three flats with seven bedrooms meant that we also could have visitors. Arriving in Rome in the afternoon and heading north towards Villa Ferraguzzo in the dark was a new experience as the road signs and the GPS didn’t marry up as expected. At 2 o’clock in the morning we arrived Villa Ferraguzzo. Luca and his dad Lido were waiting for us and gave us a warm welcome. Waking up the next day was nothing else but fantastic! The villa, the garden, the pool, the surrounding areas, everything was beyond our expectations. The photos on their website do not serve the villa right! It took us a couple of days to wind down and to understand that we were as close to heaven as we possibly could be still being alive. It is a quiet place and the only noise that could be heard was a few cars on the road close by and some tractors out on the field. We heard the birds singing and the wind blowing gently in the trees. Our grandchildren had a fantastic time, mainly in the pool, enjoying every second of our two weeks stay. If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries, Villa Ferraguzzo can be recommended! Villa Ferraguzzo even has its own restaurant in the adjacent building. This restaurant is open on request and they served very good typical Italian food. Luca and his dad Lido doesn’t know the word no. They are doing whatever possible to make the holiday as comfortable as possible. Whatever your request is, they fix it. They were around every day, either to make sure that the stay was as perfect as possible or to cut the lawn, clean the pool or any other maintenance required. Luca organize whatever you want to do, either a trip to see all the fantastic towns in the surrounding areas, a course to learn how to make Italian pizza or anything else such as a visit to a wine producer in Chianti. Luca did also organize a taxi to Arezzo and the train for the departure of our friends. Thank you Luca and Lido, you brought our holiday experience to a whole new level! We will be back without a shadow of a doubt!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

We stayed 12 days at Ferraguzzo and had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect! The villa is well maintained. The rooms are all beautifully appointed and very spacious. The pool and outside grounds were spotless. Luca and Lido were wonderful hosts and were very helpful with each and every request. Our son is in a wheelchair and the villa is quite accessible! We had 11 people in our group and Ferraguzzo has plenty of space for everyone!! I would recommend this beautiful villa to everyone! We look forward to a return visit!! We can't stop talking about our experiences in and around the villa. The children miss their "playground" with the pool and lots of space to run and play. For our family, the Villa was the IDEAL place for us. I visited many sites, but your villa suited our "family" lifestyle. I'm pleased that you included our stories on your site. I know that others with or without family will enjoy the peace, quiet, comfort and relaxing atmosphere that the villa provided us. We would hope that others would establish the same relationship we developed with your family. We believe the long stay gave us that opportunity. About the owner: Here we are, Lido and Luca, We have given a lot of thought about what we would do in the homes we inherited from our great-grandparents - old Tuscan farmers bound to this land. We had initially planned to sell them but then we realized we would regret this decision terribly. Renovation on the houses was done and we thought it would be nice to share all of this with our guests: the lush countryside surrounding the house and some good wine thus reflecting the simplicity of our lifestyle. So we worked patiently to make Villa Ferraguzzo into what you see today. We are happy to offer you a place with bright sunlit rooms, large gardens, swimming pool plus numerous sport activities or simply organize your holidays, anniversaries and weddings. You can live in a Country house which is part of the old world, with stunning views from the windows. The museums & picture galleries in Florence, Sienna, Perugia, Arrezzo and Sansepulchro are in easy driving distance; the Anghiari music festival in July is just one of many great classical and jazz events. The vineyards are outstanding, and all the local Italians love Americans who liberated them. THE POOL is a very Olympian 16m x 8m and is 1.5-1,90 m in depth and has roman steps that are perfect for relaxing on and taking in the views
