This is one VRBO listing where the pictures posted do NOT do justice to either the view nor the quality of the interior. A spectacular view dominates the living area! We have stayed at the Plantation numerous times & the recent interior remodel has, without a doubt, resulted in the nicest unit we have visited!  The attention to detail is amazing for a resort condo - the owners definitely have great taste!  The bistro table & chairs on the lanai are a great touch, providing in unobstructed views of the ocean - surprised more units in the complex don't have these.  Doubt if the interior dinning table ever gets much use.  Also appreciate the owner's thoughtfulness when equipping the kitchen and remainder of the unit -without a doubt the best equipped condo we have ever rented! Thanks for sharing your Kauai home with us.

My husband and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon and it was perfect!! It is even better than the photos led us to believe. It had beautiful grounds and a great beach. Because it is on the 3rd floor it has great views. We loved having a pool right across the street too. The condo is very clean and had everything we needed. We cooked everyday and the kitchen was fully stocked. The breeze and fans keep the place nice and cool. We were a bit concerned that the road noise we read about may be an issue. It totally wasn't. The birds would wake us before the cars each morning and it was lovely. We can't wait to stay here again.

What a beautiful condo and gorgeous resort spot. We were blown away when we arrived. The pictures do not encapsulate the vibe of this place. My husband & I came for a 2nd honeymoon/1 year anniversary and had such a great time. The condo was so comfortable and peaceful. And beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff at the resort were so cheerful and helpful. And only there if needed or wanted which is nice. We got a chance to renew our wedding vows Hawaiian style in a small ceremony, it was complimentary for us as guests. It made our trip very memorable. We really enjoyed having the beach right there. It really is the best beach on Kauai. It was hard to stay out of that ocean. The restaurants, the shops, and the grounds on and around this plantation are top notch. Everything was well maintained and clean. The owners were gracious and helpful. They provided the best spots to check out on the island. My husband is used to me picking and planning our getaways and he is not always easy to please. He said "honey, you did really good!" We definitely recommend stopping by the Costco when you get to the airport in Lihue as it helped keep our expenses down. When we come back to Kauai next year, there is no other place we would rather stay.

Perfect in every way......

We have visited the Hawaiian Islands many times however this was our first experience at renting a condo thru VRBO and what a great experience it was. Dean, one of the owners was extremely pleasant to deal with, answered all our emails promptly and made the whole process hassle free. The condo is simply beautiful, it has been renovated to a very high standard with granite counters, bamboo flooring, plantation shutters and beautiful furnishings. Each morning we ate breakfast on the lanai, took in the wonderful atmosphere, great view of the ocean and lushly landscaped gardens. The location was great, close to lovely beaches and a short walk to Poipu Shopping Centre. The units are all nestled amongst the lushly landscaped grounds which the ground staff do a wonderful job of maintaining. There is also a large manicured lawn in front of the beach which is great for grabbing a couple of beach chairs and just relaxing under the palm trees. We love hiking so on this trip we also did the following hikes, Pihea Trail in Waimea Canyon, Hanakapia Falls on the Kalalau Trail and the Maha'ulepu Cliff Trail. Kauai is truly an awesome place to visit and this unit is the only place to stay. Thanks Dean and Paul for allowing us to share your little piece of paradise, we will definately be back!!

This is a great condo and great value for the money. It has got to be one of the most beautiful and comfortable condos in the complex. The unit has a very good view of the ocean, and a great deck to view it from. The condo is very clean and bright and well equipped. The owners are extremely pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. The complex seems like it is run very well and everyone we dealt with was friendly and courteous. I liked the fact we could walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach...all in a matter of minutes. Thanks Dean and Paul for the great stay...we will be back. Tom and Don

This condo is all that it states to be. I absolutely loved opening the door and immediately seeing the ocean every time we came back from a day of adventure. There is SO much you can do in Kauai and when you have a great home base it makes it all the more pleasant. Kiahuna Plantation is a location that we keep returning to. Each time a different condo...and I would definitely state that this was our favorite. The remodeling, the decorating, the view, the amenities were all perfect. I would recommend it to any of my friends. Really felt that it was easy to communicate with the owners in regards to any questions I had. They were great! I don't think you would be disappointed.

This was our first tropical vacation and what a spot it was. The pictures that are shown do not do the Condo justice. From the moment you open the door and see the view of the Ocean it just keeps getting better. Everything is first class starting with the marble countertops, beautiful furniture, pictures and Tim even liked the reading material. Everyday the grounds crews were taking care of lawns and beautiful flowers everywhere. Dean made this process so simple and included so many things to do and great restaurants to enjoy. We did the Tropical Gardens at Allerton, poipu village shopping, Koloa town , snorkeling and tried Keoki's Paradise and Plantation Garden restaurants. We want to thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise. I will definately recommend your Condo to all my friends and Tim and I cannot wait to return. Kathy

We knew we made the right decision the second we stepped inside this amazing condo. As the previous poster stated, this was one of the best vacations that we have ever had. This condo has been beautifully refurbished and we were extremely pleased with every aspect of it. The decor was very luxurious and tastefully done and beautiful tropical theme. The views from the lanai were spectacular! Everything from the granite counter tops, to the bamboo flooring, to the lighting and pictures, and the plantation style shutters really made us feel very comfortable. The pictures don't do it justice. I am so glad we chose to stay here rather than one of the larger hotels because it was so spacious, clean, and it really is charming and felt like home. The condo felt very private and gave us easy access to the parking lot, restaurants, and shops. We really appreciated walking through the beautiful grounds to the beach. It was so quiet and peaceful. Some of our favorite places to eat were right across the street which were Joe's on the Green for breakfast, Roy's Bar and Grille and Keokis Paradise for dinner. The owners of this condo were very friendly and extremely easy to deal with and we did not have any problems making the transaction. The condo had everything you could possibly need including cooking utensils and wireless internet which was a major plus. We were in heaven the entire time. The Outrigger staff was also extremely friendly, helpful and very accommodating. It did take a little time getting used to the chickens and birds which are all over every square inch of the island, but that is part of what we love about Kauai. The beach was breathtaking and we spent plenty of time hanging out there enjoying the scenery. We loved this condo and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and in true paradise. I can not say enough good things about this place. Six nights was way too short and next time we will definitely stay longer. It was very hard to leave and we can not wait to go back! THIS CONDO ROCKS!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay in this tastefully appointed unit. Dean and Paul's special touches included a modern granite kitchen and a 14-foot vaulted ceiling in the living area. Third (top) floor assured no "footprint" noise from above, and we could leave our sliding door and windows open day and night for the pleasant cross-breezes. We especially enjoyed morning coffee and sunset rum drinks on the ocean-view lanai. Josselin's is our new favorite restaurant (tapas style, several small courses to choose from and share). Living Foods provided much of our in-house dining needs. Both are located in the new shopping center on the opposite side of the roundabout. Wednesday afternoon there is a great farmer's market in the mall's courtyard - lots of fresh local greens and a wide variety of tropical fruits. A very short stroll to Poipu Beach, one of the finest with wide stretches of white sand and the gentle, warm Pacific Ocean. The Beach Hut provided fresh towels and chairs each day for a more comfortable beach day. We're already planning next year's trip to this wonderful condo!

Sunshine and 80 Degree Weather for 2 Weeks!

The condo was nicely appointed with just about everything you need including a comfortable lanai and pleasant view of the ocean. The open-air style of the property kept it cool in the evening but took some getting use to the outside noices from neighbors and the street. We live in a rural part of town so probably more sensitive to street noice then most (somewhat sleep deprived the first week of our stay - next time we will use ear plugs or the noice machine which wasn't discovered until later in our stay). Spent alot of time at the beach in front of the property which is only a short walk from the condo. We thought this beach was better than the more advertised Poipu and Brenneke beaches! Use of the washer/dryer in the condo would have been nice (if available) since we were there for two weeks. All in all, a great stay in Kauai with sunshine and 80 degree weather for 2 weeks!

Owner response:Glad you had a great stay at the condo. We're sorry it took a little time to adjust to the Poipu area. Adapting to a new time zone or location always poses a challenge for even the most seasoned traveler. We are glad that you discovered the small fans on the night stands in the bedroom because they do help provide soothing white noise and additional air circulation if needed. One of the great things about Kiahuna Plantation is that everyone is friendly and at night Kiahuna’s team are walking the grounds to ensure that a serene environment is always maintained. We are glad you liked the beach at Kiahuna too, the staff at the Beach Hut are very helpful. (It's common to overhear them giving snorkeling lessons or other beach tips). Having the towels + beach chairs provided makes it feel really private and you don't have to hunt for space like at Brenneke's. The laundry facilities at Kiahuna are terrific because they are close by and have a lot of machines so we can get everything done quickly. In addition, the Kiahuna staff keeps the laundry room immaculate. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.

This condo is great! It has been beautifully renovated with granite countertops, wood floors, and plantation shutters so it is really comfortable and charming (an updated Hawaiian plantation-style feel). We liked the openness of the floor plan and vaulted ceilings because it kept the condo cool AND gave it a nice airy feeling. The lanai is big and has a great view of the ocean. We liked that it was covered because one day when the weather was less than perfect, we could still sit out there & enjoy the ocean and tropical landscaping, and then once the weather cleared a quick 2 minute walk got us to the beach. Nights were so peaceful & quiet we slept really well. Big comfy bed and the kind of deep sleep you only have from being totally relaxed and on vacation. Dining at nearby Josselin's on thai shrimp bisque, wasabi salmon roll & the coffee smoked pork was a highlight. All in all this was a perfect stay. (It was so hard to leave that we went ahead and already booked the condo again for next year....)

We had a great time, both at the condo and on the island. The condo is definitely very modern (compared to the other units I saw, it is MUCH nicer), with a beautiful kitchen, bathroom. Nice big lanai, the beach is only a 3 minute walk away, with a great grass expanse for lounging. It's too bad that the new shopping center a few blocks away isn't totally finished yet (it only had a few restaurants open), I imagine that in 6 months it is going to be a great place to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping.

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed the condo! The new shopping area is Kukui`ula Village. They are just finishing it and the shops and restaurants are slowly opening up. You are right, it's going to be a great amenity. We love the Living Foods Market there for gourmet food and of course Lappert's Ice Cream is always good!

The first night we could hear the water and then were awe-struck the next morning to see the breath-taking view from the lanai, where I sit now to share our thanks. We had a great time in Kauai and a big reason was your wonderful unit. Having gone through a recent renovation on our home, we appreciate the time and effort involved in making this place look great. We live in the San Francisco Bay area and although I was born and raised on Oahu, this was my first visit to Kauai. We both felt blessed that we were able to call your beautiful condo home while we were here. Without a doubt your condo is the BEST accommodations we have ever stayed in. We love the granite that you chose for the kitchen and bathroom. Also, we noticed all the little touches that you added, like the 3 fans and the bathroom light fixtures. This condominium was everything we expected & much, much more! It was beautifully furnished & renovated & had such amazing views. It's not often that a unit is as good as advertised - this one is. It's well furnished and beautifully finished. The view of the grounds and the ocean is very nice. We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful condominium. It is BEAUTIFUL and so wonderfully appointed. This was our first visit to Kauai + we loved it. We stayed 2 nights in a different room first and we were very happy when they transferred us to this one! The room is beautiful and we love the view. We came in this room late at night and I was so happy with the room that I told my husband I didn't care if we have a view. So when we woke up the next morning we were extremely happy! Our 10 days on the island were very happy + we hope to come back next year to Kiahuna.

How do we describe this most beautiful tropical paradise? The brand new accommodations are done with beauty, practicality and with excellence. The view from our lanai is exquisite. We quickly realized that we were in a brand new unit, with a great view, a very peaceful and quiet setting and within easy walking distance of anywhere at the resort and restaurants located nearby.
