We had a wonderful stay at the cabin this past weekend. The house was by far the best cabin I have ever stayed in. It was clean and fully loaded with everything we needed. As a mother of a child with asthma I was suprised that we found a place that didn't make my child sick. I noticed that there were covers on the bed and pillows. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us.Owner response: Dear Carrico's family My husband and I are so very pleased that you took the time to sign our guestbook. Thank you!! We are also very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our cabin, and that you found the house to be clean and well equipped with all that you needed to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you for commenting on the bedding and the extra attention that we have taken to protect our mattress and pillows with protective coverings to help prevent the formation allergens. We're glad it helped. We have a grandchild that suffers with asthma as well and completely understand. We hope that your experience at our cabin has left you with many wonderful memories, and that you will consider vacationing at our cabin again soon. Have a wonderful summer. Sincerely Ted and Sherry

Ted & Sherry, We wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for the wonderful place to stay on our recent getaway. The "Country Cottage" was well equipped and very cozy. There wasn't one thing that made us think, "I wish we had brought that". The proximity to the marina was great. We rented pontoon boats and took the boys 10 & 6 years old fishing, tubing, and swimming. Thye loved the clear, WARM water. WE had a blast. We will be in touch when we decide to vacation in that area again.Owner response: Dear Lance and Kim Thank you so much for taking the time to sign our guestbook and for your kind remarks. It is very nice to know that you were pleased with your stay at our Cottage and that you found it to be well equipped to your needs. Sounds like you had a great time on the lake...the boy's especially! That's wonderful! And glad the water was WARM too! :) We look forward to hearing from you again next time you plan a trip our way. May the up and coming Holidays bring you much joy and happiness. Sincerely Ted and Sherry

I just loved our stay at Ted & Sherry's Country Cottage. The home is so cozy & well equipped which made our stay that more relaxing. I loved the mornings as my sister & I would go out on the deck and enjoy our coffee. We would lose track of time because of the peaceful surroundings while we watched the deer roam on the property. When you go on vacation and you find yourself spending a lot of time relaxing in the home, then you know how special this home made us feel!! Thank you so much, I would definetly come back.Owner response: Dear Nancy Ted and I appreciate you taking the time to sign our guestbook. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your visit with your sister and that you found our home well equipped so that you had all that you needed to have a relaxing time together. Please come back again and bring your sister or other family members or friends. You are always welcome. Sincerely Ted and Sherry

About the owner: My Husband and I have been married for 40 years and have resided in Homestead FL for 38 years. We have three sons' who are married with families of their own. We have five grandchildren...4 girls and one boy. We especially enjoy getting together with all the family as often as possible. Our hobbies (especially the guys) consist of boating, fishing, sports...baseball/football. For myself, I enjoy reading, sewing and projects on the computer and of course we all enjoy watching our favorite TV programs. We always look forward to our next trip to vacation in our TN home.
Why the Owner Chose Byrdstown:
My Husband Ted and I were looking into maybe retiring in a less populated area of the country. We decided to check out the state of Tennessee. Ted got on the computer and googled different areas of TN, preferably near a lake and found Dale Hollow Lake in North Central TN along the Kentucky border. We decided to take a trip out there and look around. We contacted a realtor in the area. By the way, our property managers Craig and Joanne Jordan are Realtors too. They would be glad to show you around.
Our first stop was Byrdstown TN to look at some homes in an area called Stair Point Village. The very first home that we looked at we fell in love with. Ted especially loved it because it was just 5 minutes from Dale Hollow Lake. We both loved the huge wrap around deck. We particularly loved the wooded surroundings with all the wildlife scurrying about...especially the deer. Love the deer!! We drove back home five days later to tell the family that we had just purchased a home in TN in beautiful Star Point Village near a gorgeous lake just a few minutes from the house. Their response 'You're kidding right?' We assured them we weren't. They were thrilled!!! Still are. :)
