Rest and Relax at Grayton Beach is a beautiful new home located in The Preserve at Grayton Beach. This is a gated community(still in progress) with Beach access through a private nature trail. The home is very spacious with true elegant charm.The interior is very well designed and furnished.
The first floor bedroom consists of a queen-size bed, shared bath with double vanity and access to a private deck. The master suite on the second floor contains a king-size bed, large private bath with Jacuzzi and access to a large spacious covered deck. There is also a bedroom with twin beds that share a large double vanity bath with a queen room, both have small private decks.
This four bedroom house will easily sleep ten with a sofa-bed adding an additional option. One of two community pools is located just across the street. A fitness center is located next to the larger pool.
The property is located at the entrance of The Preserve development. The development is still in progress. The property is located just minutes from the shops and restaurants of Grayton Beach and only a few miles from Watercolor and Seaside.

STATE LAW ALLOWS ANYONE TO SET UP CHAIRS AT THE HIGH WATER LINE ANYWHERE ON THE BEACH!!!! We live in Mt. Juliet Tn with our two children, Gabrielle 18 and Nick 16. My husband and I have been coming to the Destin area for many years and excited at the opportunity to build in the Grayton Beach area. We were not at all familiar with the area but have come to love it! We try not to go to Destin when we visit. We have found wonderful places to eat and things to do in this area.

Even though the owners were accomodating and nice, I had a very frustrating incident with Sandcastles and would not recommend using them. Prior to our heading down to the beach, we received an email telling us to rent our beach chairs/umbrella in advance to insure availability, which we did. When we arrived at the beach the young man bringing the chairs said oh, I'm sorry, we can't rent chairs on this part of the beach, you have to call another guy. So, we call the next guy and he comes out to the beach and proceeds to tell us he can't rent chairs to us where we were sitting because it was a private beach,only for condo owners. Mind you, we arrived at this location on the beach because that is where the private beach access for the Preserve led us. He said we would have to move further down the beach. At that point I said something isn't right and I would call Sandcastles to settle it. The young lady I spoke with said we should just use the public beach access a couple of blocks up the road. Knowing I didn't want to load up 3 babies and beach gear in the car to the public beach access, I tried again the next day to get beach chairs by moving further down the beach to where the second guy had told me would be ok. After we had settled in our chairs and waited for the young man to come around and collect, we encountered a 3rd young man that contradicted what we had been told the day before. Once again we were told we had to move. He then proceeds to tell me he is not sure if the Preserve has any rights to the beach we were at. At that point I had had it. I called Sandcastles to complain that I never would have rented the property had I known we couldn't use the beach, and I wanted my money back. I know I was upset at that point and maybe asking for my money back was extreme, but I think the manager, (Brian I believe), should have done something to rectify the situation. Constantly being told you have to move after unloading all your gear is extremely frustrating! Instead, he said to me "I'm not giving you your money back just because you don't know how to find the beach access." That was rude and condescending. We were simply following the signs. I hung up the phone and just said forget it. So, if you want a place that has easy access to the beach and beach chairs, don't go to the Preserve. And from my experience, I would say don't rent from Sandcastles because they don't deliver what they advertise.
Owner response:I am very saddened to read this review! We have never had a problem at the beach before and we have had the house for almost 5 years now.. I will be immediately investigating this instance and finding clarification regarding the beach issue. I apologize for any inconvenience and will also talk with Sandcastle Escape. I also was not contacted personally during this stay and feel like I could have helped if I had just known. Will follow up immediately! I talked to The Preserve Association Manager and he told me that the condo complex to the right of the boardwalk owns the beach in front of their development. The Preserve guests can use the beach to the left of the board walk AND BY LAW can set up their chairs at the high water LINE anywhere on the beach. He also recommended a beach service that will assist in getting you set up in the right place. Its to bad that we all cant' be nice neighbors and allow everyone to enjoy this huge area of the beach. Also talked with Sandcastles and they informed me that they offered to come to the beach and assist this family! I have always had great service from Sandcastle and don't anticipate any other problems. We really do have a beautiful place.

Myself and some friends stayed at Bernard's Grayton Place last weekend and absolutely loved it! It is in a perfect location and everything is at your fingertips. You can find everything you need within minutes of the home and both Destin and Panama City are only about 15-30 minutes away! I would highly recommend staying here to everyone! We can't wait to get the chance to go back!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
