The apartment was very nicely furnished and in a quiet location in the back of the building overlooking the neighborhood. Gonzalo Frago, the property manager knew it was my wife's birthday the day we arrived, and they had a very good bottle of wine and chocolates for her when we got there. Gonzalo was quite helpful in getting us oriented, and readily available by phone or email. The Buceo neighborhood is very pleasant and there is everything you need within walking distance. The apartment is about four miles from the "Old Town", and easily accessible by bus. This apartment was exactly as represented in the HomeAway listing, and we were very pleased with our week-long stay. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a neighborhood experience and is comfortable using public transit to get about. This is a great place to call home while visiting Montevideo for business or pleasure. To start, the location is ideal. You are in one of Montevideo's trendy neighborhoods, Puerto Buceo. The appeal of Puerto Buceo is that you are very close to the World Trade Center, Montevideo Shopping, and the beach (including the main waterfront thoroughfare, the Rambla). The apartment is new, very modern, and an easy walk to all of the above. Additionally, the apartment is close to downtown Montevideo, including Ciudad Vieja, and the airport via public transportation or taxi. A nice touch is the property manager, Gonzalo (very helpful and friendly), is on site in case you need anything during your stay.
