We just wanted to let know that we had a wonderful time staying in Carpinteria at your condo. The condo was clean and so incredibly well-stocked with all the necessities......kitchen items, linens, paper products, beach chairs, beach toys, etc. The location was fantastic and the town of Carpinteria was lovely.

We had the most wonderful time! We went to the beach a lot. We swam out to the pontoon, went on a train ride to Santa Barbara, shopping and the zoo. We swam in the pool and had a great time here and I'm excited to come next year. I also enjoyed writing in the sand, and we saw cute sea critters, dolphins, fish, sand crabs and a seal.

Almost every day, we packed up the kids' sand toys, lunch, towels and spent the day at the beach and went boogie boarding. The food at all the restaurants we ate at were amazing also! We also noticed that the majority of the people here in Carpinteria were very nice and polite, and say "hello" when we would walk past!

Another wonderful stay in our favorite small town. As always, we found the condo comfortable and meeting our needs. The location of course is perfect. We took many walks on the bluffs, the beach and through town. We also took the bus to Santa Barbara several times. Fun! We plan to return.

Another fantastic week in Carpinteria. We all took the train this year, such a relaxing way to travel. Lots of long walks on the beach, a minus tide one day to enjoy the tide pools even more! Thank you for the new living room TV. What a treat! everything was perfect! See you next year.

My family and I (husband, 2 yr. old twins, and in-laws) just came back from our vacation in Carpinteria beach. We stayed at Claire's place for a whole week and really enjoyed ourselves. The condo had everything that we needed and more. The location was much closer to the beach than we expected, which was a big deal since we had impatient two-year olds with us. It was really steps from the beach! Except for the occasional train horn sounds, it was quiet at night so we can rest, which was surprising to me. I used to live close to a beach town in San Diego, and night time was usually loud and noisy. While planning this vacation, it was easy for me to get a hold of Claire via email. She answered my questions promptly and was easy to talk to. The rental fee was reasonable considering the location and the amenities of the condo complex. The beach weather is priceless though. Except for a chilly afternoon, the rest of the week had perfect beach weather. We enjoyed walking around town. Carpinteria is not the usual noisy, crowded beach town. It's charming and sleepy, but had great restaurants and shops. The beach was never too crowded even though the state park looked full with campers. Vons and Rite-Aid was easy walking distance so we were able to get whatever we needed. Linden St. is lined up with good places to eat. I particularly liked the newly (re?)opened frozen yogurt shop. The steaks at The Palms were very good for their comparatively cheap price. It can get very crowded though, and the cook-it-yourself style might not be for everybone. The Spot is a cool place to hang out. Because of the easy driving distance, my girls enjoyed our trip to the Santa Barbara zoo, a perfect zoo for children, and my in-laws enjoyed our trip to Solvang. I would love to go back and stay at Claire's place again; hopefully sooner than later. Lisa

The unit was clean but somewhat dated. There were six small children in another unit that were allowed to run wild in the courtyard forcing us to complain to the local management. The unit is in a great location near the beach and walking distance to town. We were surprised to only receive a partial return of our deposit. The explanation was that we had gotten bleach on a bedspread and they attached a photo taken after we departed. I responded with photos we had taken when departing (a practice I highly recommend) of the same bed with no spots. I also informed the owner that we brought not bleach, bought on bleach and used no bleach during our stay. Even though I provided photos taken and suggested she visit with the cleaning crew that came in after we left the balance of the deposit has not been returned. As I stated to both the owner and the rental agent it was not the money but the principle. Had anyone one in my family destroyed or damaged anything I would have been upfront with them and paid for repair or replacement. I certainly would not have taken photos. Most disapointing.
Owner response:This is our family's second home, and we really enjoy sharing it with others when we have dates available. We continually strive to make this a pleasant destination for ourselves and for our visitors. With very few exceptions, our visitors treat our property as they would their own, and we really appreciate those who return year after year. You can read their reviews in our on-site guest book when you come to visit! And please see all the positive reviews here on this site and let them be your guide.

Nice condo! Well equipped, nice atmosphere, pool, beach, state park for walks. Did a lot of hiking, beach walking etc. Highlights include Reagan Library, Getty Museum, Ojai, East Camino Cielo drive, Solvang, and of course Santa Barbara. The missions in the area are wonderful. We will be back!

This was a great rental: convenient, comfortable, clean. The full-time neighbors are great resources--very friendly. The pool and jacuzzi were perfect. It really is a home that you rent rather than a sterile apartment with only the barest necessities, as you often find.

My husband and I have been visiting and staying in Carpinteria for 10 years and have rented the condo from Claire for the past 5 years. It is the best deal in town with all the perks that makes our vacation something to look forward to each year. Now with two young girls to enjoy the time away from home, this has become a family tradition each year. The beach is so close that we do not need to lug all of our supplies to the beach or search for a bathroom to use when spending time on the beach. We will quickly walk back to refill our drinks or grab a snack and head back to our spot on the lovely sand. Most of the days are sunny and warm during the week we stay in May

Another beautiful week in Carpinteria. It is one of those vacations that you wish would go on and on. We spent many happy days on the beach taking walks to the pier and back, up and down Linden, stopping at the Spot for a burger, making sure we had one dinner at the Palm, and one at Delgados. Make sure to go to the Thursday farmers' market--beautiful produce.

We had a wonderful stay at your condo. The kids went out to the beach each morning and my husband walked down the street for a cup of coffee. Your condo is packed with all the essentials and little things, like books, maps, games, plenty of linens, kitchenware and utensils. It's a great home away from home.

Thank you for the use of your condo in Carpinteria, we had an excellent holiday. The condo was very clean, had all the amenities we needed and very quiet. We didn't spend much time on the beach, as we had a number of days out, to Hollywood, Universal Studios, whale watching etc. this was great I've attached a picture of a humpback that gave us a show for about half an hour. The town was just right not too busy but with some nice restaurants within walking distance.

We really enjoyed our 10 days in California and particularly our time in Carpinteria. The accommodations and location were perfect for us. We took daily walks on the beach and the salt marsh, as well as shopping in all the cute specialty shops. There is a Mexican restaurant in town that was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub as well as the outside grill. We loved the harbor seal rookery and visited the site several times. We have friends in Santa Barbara and Ventura, which made out visit to both places very easy.

We enjoyed our time in Carpinteria. The condo was very comfortable and easy to take care of. We really enjoyed being able to walk around and the farmer's market was particularly nice. The hamburgers at the little place closest to the condo (The Spot) were superb.

We had a wonderful stay. The condo itself was really well appointed and had everything we needed. The location near the beach and the shops is ideal. The beach is beautiful and peaceful, and the town although small had some really lovely boutiques and shops, lots of places to eat and a huge grocery store very near by. Carpinteria as a location was really handy for us (between Santa Barbara and LAX).
