Enjoy a relaxing, carefree, back-to-nature vacation on the big lake, lakeside dining, bright starlit nights, wake to the soothing sound of waves lapping on the shore. Ideal for naturalists, cyclists, families, couples, or you and a few friends.
Enjoy summer play on the lake. Unwind and relax where cellphones barely work and sunsets are the daily attraction. Beachwalk several miles of open beach in either direction. Ideal for catching up on reading, writing, sunrise yoga, cycling back roads. Walk, bike or canoe to the village, windsurf, kayak or bring your small sailboat. Sandy public beaches with small boat launch in Cross Village and Sturgeon Bay.
Complete kitchen for cooking, or dine out or carry-out in Cross Village at the Crows Nest, The Fish, and famous Legs Inn (plus music and dancing on weekends). Cross Village also is home to the Cross Village General Store and a friendly little post office, Three Pines Studio and art gallery, who offer summer workshops just right for a week long vacation.
Explore Wilderness State Park a short drive up the shore. Nearby day excursions by ferry to Mackinac Island and Beaver Island. Golf, tennis, performing arts, shopping, dining, in Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Cheboygan, and Mackinaw City.
