  I stayed in the loft for a few months between October 2012 and January 2013 while in the Bay Area for work. I found the loft to be perfectly located within walking distance of restaurants, Target, Best Buy etc., and either walking (10-20 min) or free "Emery-Go-Round" shuttle distance from IMAX movie theater, Trader Joes, Emeryville mall, and Emeryville Public Market (food stalls). Also, within a 3 minute walk from the front door is access to an AC Transit direct bus to San Francisco or take the free Emery-Go-Round shuttle to the MacArthur BART station for even more SF destinations. This loft is close to freeways (located very close to the foot of "the maze" which provides quick access to most East Bay highways and very quick access to Bay Bridge and SF). The loft was very quiet and private (hardly heard the neighbors). It is a very secure building and I, as a single woman living in the loft alone, felt completely safe both in the building and walking around the neighborhood. The loft itself is well furnished with all the pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils you could need; pull-out couch; plenty of seating (wrap around couch, and kitchen table and island chairs); convenient stacked washer/dryer; large walk-in closet; ceiling fans; 1. medium flat screen TV in bedroom and 1. large tv in main living area (each with DVD player). There is no cable access, just antennas for basic channels and those can be somewhat spotty. I brought my Apple TV and hooked it up to the flat screen in the bedroom and had everything I needed. The WiFi was great (streamed Netflix and surfed the internet a lot and had no problems). The owner did everything to make my stay comfortable and easy. I never had any problems with appliances or anything, but I felt his support and attention from Day 1 and knew that if anything had gone wrong he would have responded immediately. Great place to stay and I’m glad I found this loft for my time in the Bay Area!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

  I stayed here for several months and found both the apartment and the location to be great. The place is quiet and clean and very very nice, and the location is so convenient to the city of San Francisco or anywhere in the east bay area.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  We stayed at "The Loft" between selling and buying homes and found the accommodations really very comfortable and enjoyable. The split bath, 1 Queen BR, and "grand room/kitchen" was perfect for our needs as a couple, though with limited TV access. Quiet, clean, and well maintained, we would highly recommend this property to others. The photos give a good depiction of the place. Value added: nearby attractions abound: two shopping centers, Emery Bay food court, Berkeley estuary walking trail, cool bakery, emerging artistic community, Bucci's restaurant, Townhouse bar & grill, and "Can't Fail Cafe" all nearby. The owner was most helpful and reasonable. A most excellent choice.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

  We stayed at this property for two months from Dec 2009 until Feb 2010. The loft is very quiet and secure and nicely furnished. The best feature is the location which has easy access to the entire east bay as well as the city of San Francisco. You can walk or take the free Emeryville bus to the Emeryville mall (Trader Joes, IMAX theater and lots of shops). The owner responded promptly when we had a small problem with the dryer. Main drawback is no cable TV. Layout of the loft would not be good for small children. Overall highly recommend.
