Emeryville condo description
This gorgeous, fully-furnished, 1400 square foot, first-floor loft is appropriately named 'Sanctuary 109'.
Approaching the entrance to the historic landmark building on Park Avenue (the building was a warehouse before its conversion to one of the finest loft complexes in Emeryville) one passes through a pleasant courtyard that beautifully juxtaposes tropical themes with the building's exquisite glass and steel entryway. A 50 ft water feature complements the garden. The elegance continues in the building's lobby, which features a polished concrete floor and a magnificent steel staircase.
Upon entering the loft, the grand scale becomes warm and intimate with bamboo flooring, track lighting and professional interior design that places elegant original oil paintings, furniture, and plants in the midst of massive concrete columns and a general interplay of warm and cool surfaces. A study space is near the entrance with a formal desk and exquisite leather chair. The perfect place to use a laptop computer.
The loft's living room and kitchen area are illuminated by a large west-facing window that nearly reaches the 14 foot high ceiling. Adjustments in lighting from the window can be made with the window's overlapping light and heavy silk curtains. A large armoire contains a 50 inch Sony projection television.
The main bedroom of the loft, which provides access to a possible second sleeping area, is on the nicely-carpeted mezzanine level and features granite-topped bedside tables, nice cabinetry and a flat screen television.

Wish I lived here
Wish I lived here
I have never written a review here but I liked this place so well I figured I should. I spent a couple of weeks at the loft while visiting my brother who was spending a few months here before they moved in to a new house. The owners of the loft have managed to make the loft both spacious and cozy at the same time. I am from Brazil and am naturally concerned with safety, and my stay at the loft was the safest I've felt in years. Also, the bed is super comfortable, the place is tastefully furnished and a large glass window/wall allows ample light during the day, while at night, with the shades down, you are in a comfy cocoon. Again, what amazed me the most was the possibility of going from light and spacious, to safe and cozy, with the closing of a curtain, and changing of lights. Also, I have allergies, and so I'm always concerned about mildew or dust - the place was impeccably clean, felt very new, and I had zero allergies while staying there. The heating works great, it's absolutely quiet (you'd think there are no neighbors) and it's just an all-around comfortable experience. There's also easy, convenient parking in the garage (if you are driving, this place is ideal). Really, I wish I could live here.

We had the pleasure of staying at the loft for 6 months while shopping for our own home in the East Bay and only have great things to say about it. The loft is quiet, elegant, practical and very well maintained. For a loft, it's pretty spacious and does not feel "boxy" - the on-line photos do a pretty good job of conveying the spaciousness. Also, the building is super quiet and we seldomly heard anything from neighbors or the outside. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room TV worked like a charm with our Roku (no cable service). The internet provider is excellent and I consistently got 30mbps downloads which was great for streaming video. The owners are super responsive, although we only had to contact them to replace a water filter at some point. Our move out dates shifted a couple of times and they were always very reasonable and easy to work with. We're a 30-something couple who work in Berkeley and San Francisco. Having only lived close to BART, I was a bit skeptical of the bus commute to downtown San Francisco but it turned out to be my easiest commute to date. 25 minutes door-to-door from Emeryville to One Market St via the AC Transit F-line which stops 1 block away from the loft on 40th St and drops you off at the Transbay Terminal downtown. Not only would we recommend this to anyone looking for a month-to-month term rental, but we're planning on using the loft again in the future whenever we have any major remodeling done at home.

Convenient and Quiet East Bay Loft
Convenient and Quiet East Bay Loft
I stayed in the loft for a few months between October 2012 and January 2013 while in the Bay Area for work. I found the loft to be perfectly located within walking distance of restaurants, Target, Best Buy etc., and either walking (10-20 min) or free "Emery-Go-Round" shuttle distance from IMAX movie theater, Trader Joes, Emeryville mall, and Emeryville Public Market (food stalls). Also, within a 3 minute walk from the front door is access to an AC Transit direct bus to San Francisco or take the free Emery-Go-Round shuttle to the MacArthur BART station for even more SF destinations. This loft is close to freeways (located very close to the foot of "the maze" which provides quick access to most East Bay highways and very quick access to Bay Bridge and SF). The loft was very quiet and private (hardly heard the neighbors). It is a very secure building and I, as a single woman living in the loft alone, felt completely safe both in the building and walking around the neighborhood. The loft itself is well furnished with all the pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils you could need; pull-out couch; plenty of seating (wrap around couch, and kitchen table and island chairs); convenient stacked washer/dryer; large walk-in closet; ceiling fans; 1. medium flat screen TV in bedroom and 1. large tv in main living area (each with DVD player). There is no cable access, just antennas for basic channels and those can be somewhat spotty. I brought my Apple TV and hooked it up to the flat screen in the bedroom and had everything I needed. The WiFi was great (streamed Netflix and surfed the internet a lot and had no problems). The owner did everything to make my stay comfortable and easy. I never had any problems with appliances or anything, but I felt his support and attention from Day 1 and knew that if anything had gone wrong he would have responded immediately. Great place to stay and I’m glad I found this loft for my time in the Bay Area!

Great place for a short or a long stay
Great place for a short or a long stay
I stayed here for several months and found both the apartment and the location to be great. The place is quiet and clean and very very nice, and the location is so convenient to the city of San Francisco or anywhere in the east bay area.

We stayed at "The Loft" between selling and buying homes and found the accommodations really very comfortable and enjoyable. The split bath, 1 Queen BR, and "grand room/kitchen" was perfect for our needs as a couple, though with limited TV access. Quiet, clean, and well maintained, we would highly recommend this property to others. The photos give a good depiction of the place. Value added: nearby attractions abound: two shopping centers, Emery Bay food court, Berkeley estuary walking trail, cool bakery, emerging artistic community, Bucci's restaurant, Townhouse bar & grill, and "Can't Fail Cafe" all nearby. The owner was most helpful and reasonable. A most excellent choice.

We stayed at this property for two months from Dec 2009 until Feb 2010. The loft is very quiet and secure and nicely furnished. The best feature is the location which has easy access to the entire east bay as well as the city of San Francisco. You can walk or take the free Emeryville bus to the Emeryville mall (Trader Joes, IMAX theater and lots of shops). The owner responded promptly when we had a small problem with the dryer. Main drawback is no cable TV. Layout of the loft would not be good for small children. Overall highly recommend.

About the owner: My wife and I originally purchased the loft as a pied a terre. We furnished and accessorized the loft beyond what reason would dictate. Although we love it we rarely spend time there anymore which is why decided to share our beautiful home.
Why the Owner Chose Emeryville:
The loft is situated in a great location. The immediate area is clean, safe, and quiet. However, it is easy to access all of the Bay Area by car or public transportation. For example, there is a bus one block away that whisks one to San Francisco's financial district in fifteen minutes.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The loft is charming. It imparts a sense of harmony and peace.
