"La Prévenchère is a place for the soul."
M. Daniels, San Rafael, California
The heart of Brittany offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. An hour by car from the Emerald, Rose Granite or Wild Coasts of Brittany, La Prévenchère provides the ideal accommodations for an unforgettable vacation.
"Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. The home is beautiful, the village is as well.
Thanks for the warm welcome and great conversation. We will come again."
Linda and Brandon Wilgers, UK
Visits to medieval towns such as Moncontour and Dinan as well as breadmaking in the time-honored French tradition at a 17th century grist mill (a truly unique experience) await you as do private culinary classes with Chef Caille, who owned three restaurants and the Quail Catering Company in Minnesota and was the senior instructor at the Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in Minneapolis.
Perhaps you might also enjoy sailing in a fully restored replica of a 19th century sardine boat to the Ile de Bréhat or visiting the Bois de Brocéliande, home to Merlin the Magician, swimming in the nearby Lac de Guerlédan or horseback riding. The choices of activities for adults and children are nearly endless.
Your host Christian, who is originally from Paris, spent 30 years in the United States in the hospitality industry. He and Christiana Adams-Caille, whose career has been spent in Paris, New York, and Minneapolis in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, reserve a warm welcome for you in St. Caradec (Côtes d’Armor) France.
"Many establishments say that one may 'arrive as a guest' but 'leave as a friend' but the saying is TRUE of La Prévenchère.
Our sixth visit was as wonderful as the first five!"
J. Noble, UK
Six distinctively appointed guest rooms are available for single or double occupancy. Children are always welcome. A continental breakfast of fresh croissants and bread from the local boulangerie, homemade jams and jellies, juice, coffee, tea, and/or hot chocolate is included in the room rate.
It is easy to travel to the heart of Brittany from Charles de Gaulle-Roissy airport. Simply take the TGV from the airport (Aérogare 2) to Rennes, where you can rent a car; Rennes is about an hour from St. Caradec. Alternatively, you can change trains in Rennes and pick up a car in St. Brieuc. In addition, trains run almost hourly from la Gare Montparnasse in Paris to Rennes and Saint-Brieuc.
Christian and Christiana will also be delighted to assist you in planning your stay and now offer the "Cuisine and Culture" package for your visit. For more information concerning this package that your hosts can tailor to your wishes visit La Prévenchère website and blog.
