A Wonderful Week...

Guest: Joe & Dottie (Lakeland, FL)
Date of Stay: 10/08/11 Review Submitted: 11/17/11

I, my wife and her sister rented this cottage for a week in early October. The week was a wonderful vacation and break from routine. The cottage was as described in this listing and the photos accurate. We walked on Carrabelle Beach early mornings with day trips to Carrabelle, Appalachicola and St. George Island. Most of our meals were cooked at the cottage, with everything needed provided. I would not hesitate to rent this house again.

GREAT MEMORIES!!!

We have rented this place twice for our wedding anniversary. We were there with our two girls and our wondeful labradoodle. We all had such a wonderful time. The kids love the MickeyMouse room:) It's one of these places that makes you feel that you are truly on vacation, away from the crowd. The shack is fully equipped and very comfortable. It's located in a quite area and we had fun swiming, shelling or just sitting on the nice deck facing the ocean. Coming originally from a tropical island in the Indian Ocean, I can tell you as an expert, that's the best ocean front place and location that I have been on vacation. The retreat has a cozy fisherman shack feel with the greatest old time vacation atmosphere. We had fun walking down the beach discovering and old primitive abandonned cabin and ship. Made us feel back in times on an island. The owners were helpful and accomodating. We will definitely go back there again. Highly reccommended.

Steps to the Beach

Guest: Kate and Rick (Port Dover, Ontario, Canada)

This was a great holiday spot for my husband and I and our two Golden Retrievers. The sandy beach is awesome and right outside the door. You can walk for a long ways in either direction and enjoy the sand bars when the tide is out. The herons and horseshoe crabs were frequent on the beach. The house is a nice old-fashioned cottage with everything you need to relax. The deck was a favourite spot for reading and watching the water. A day trip to Appalichicola is a nice treat with lots of shops and old houses and a shrimp fleet docked at the pier.

Right on the water!

Guest: Kathy (Florida)
Date of Stay: 01/21/11 Review Submitted: 01/26/11

This house couldn't get much closer to the beach. Every morning we were treated to a gorgeous sunrise over the water and because of the season (January), we pretty much had the area to ourselves. The house was comfortable (with cable TV and internet access) and we stayed warm and cozy -- the fireplace worked great! For anyone wanting an affordable beach getaway -- this is the place! Kathy

Perfect Vacation

Guest: Beach Bums (Russellville, AR )
Date of Stay: 08/05/10 Review Submitted: 08/21/10

We went down to Carrabelle with a dog and a 5 year old, and honestly couldn't have asked for a better house. It was perfect for what we were wanting. Just a getaway house that was on the beach. The beach is 10-15 steps away and the water was perfect. You don't have the huge rolling waves, but there are still pretty good waves, and we went to St. George Island (about 5 min away) to get a day of the huge waves. It felt very private there. There was one other family that was about 5 houses down, but we never bothered them and they never bothered us. I would definately recommend this house. It is perfect for our type of beach vacation! We dont like to do just a whole lot when we are on vacation. We are a beach bum type of couple. But on St George and some other towns near by there are some good places to eat and hang out. St George has the jet skis and all that... But this house was perfectly located for us.

This was the first vacation my family has ever taken together. We made memories of a lifetime! The view was breath taking! The cottage was very well decorated and comfortable. Perfect for families with children. The people in the town were so friendly! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to visit! We hope to be back next year!
