Our vacation goal was to enjoy the beach. And we did!!! (but also close enough to go to Disneyland for a day). We stayed a week over New Year in this lovely house and had a great time. Everything the add promised is true. The interior is very nice, but not too much, especially when traveling with kids. If you like cooking, the kitchen offers everything you need. A big plus: the washer and dryer (very helpful when traveling with young kids), also the sand toys, wagon and chairs (made the trip to the beach easy and enjoyable). Always a place to come back!!! A great experience plus the owner is very friendly and helpful.

My family had a wonderful time at this beach cottage in Del Mar. We had our 2 young toddlers with us and they were very happy as well. The beach is just a short wagon ride away and the sand toys were so helpful. This beach house is wonderfully equipped and includes many items that make your stay more enjoyable - - from a selection of books and magazines, to plenty of kitchenware, to ketchup and condiments. We were so thrilled to have such an easy stay. And listen up parents!! - - we found a wonderful babysitter right across the street!! it was HEAVEN! ask the owner - and i'm sure he can help give you the info. having a convenient, responsible babysitter made our trip SO much more enjoyable. Can't say enough good things!!

Loved this place! Everything we needed was provided from a perfectly stocked kitchen to large, flat screen TV and stereo system. Yard is great for entertaining. The beach and restaurants are all within a short walk from the cottage. The owners are amazing and a great wealth of information about the surrounding area. Would return in a heartbeat!

This beach house was perfect for our needs on our recent family trip to southern California! We went to the guarded Del Mar beaches daily at 20th and 25th streets, and both were equally convenient to walk to and perfect for swimming and sunning. The house-provided wagon, chairs, cooler, boogie boards and other beach supplies were great to have since we came out from the east coast. We especially enjoyed body surfing and walking the beach looking for sand dollars and other treasures. We used both the front and back patios for grilling and dining. The back was more private, but the house is on a very quiet, dead-end street so there was little to no traffic. We also enjoyed the many other amenities the house offered, all which made us feel very comfortable and at home. The house is very up-to-date, clean and well-maintained, and the owner was especially friendly, helpful and responsive. We'd highly recommend the Del Mar area and this rental. We visited Legoland and San Diego before and after our week-long stay here, respectively, but either location would be easy to travel to as a day trip from the house. While we were at the house we wanted to mostly relax (and play) at the beach, but we did break away for partial-day trips to Sea World, Torrey Pines State Preserve, Birch Aquarium and La Jolla's Ecological Underwater Reserve (at the Cove). We'd highly recommend all of these sites. We never made it to the races, regretfully, but we heard they're great even with kids in tow. Not sure if you could go wrong with any restaurants in the area, but we especially enjoyed Poseidons with its beachfront patio. We can't wait to come back!

This house is less than 5 min walk from the beach, close enough to walk over and enjoy a beautiful sunset every night. This house is extremely clean and well-maintained. Perfect size and amenities for our family of 4. Our children enjoyed the boogie boards and sand toys that the owner provided. I would recommend a trip to Torrey Pines State Park (5-10 min drive). They had nice hiking trails with beautiful views and a beautiful beach. LegoLand was our kids favorite day, and is perfect for younger kids.

My husband and I stayed at this delightfully charming beach cottage last summer. Upon leaving, we decided that we were going to return again this summer and we are! The house is on a quiet street, just a few yards from the Pacific Ocean. The only thing, and I mean only thing, that keeps this gem from getting five stars was the train that blew its whistle in the wee hours of the morning. This startling annoyance only happened a few times in the night, but hey, I'm not complaining. The owner stopped by and spoke with us the first day. He had suggestions on dining, and driving around. Very helpful. We are looking forward to our stay again this summer and summers to come. I would highly recommend this upgraded and maintained cottage, except for the week that we'll be staying there, of course.
