Great location right on the beach. We did not expect to find a run down beach house with a fair amount of rust, rot and critters at night. Cleanliness was not up to our expectation, but the location was perfect. We felt it overpriced for the accomodations.

Dear Randall & Marissa, I love your place. I love the view, the waves, the whales that are out there to see. I slept so well and I enjoyed laying out on the lanai. I also enjoyed walking on the beach and spending time with you. The bike ride was lovely and the $100 pizza night was the BOMB ! Thanks again for everything. I read the reviews before I rented this unit and disregarded the 1 negative review about roaches and no key to the unit since the others were overwhelmingly positive. There was green algae growing in the filtered water pitcher in the fridge(which in a half awake state I used to make coffee with and drank which upset my stomach all night); black slime all around the kitchen faucet; black mold on cracks in the bathroom; mildew on the cutting boards; the blender stunk so bad inside I didn't think I could wash it enough to use it; the counter top around the sink was sunken in and presumably water logged; the stove had rust all over it; the freezer had holes inside and looked like someone tried to caulk it together; all the light fixtures in the house had rust on them; some of the pillows were stained; layers of dust on top of the fridge and the windows in the bathroom; ants so numerous I had trouble keeping them off the cutting board while trying to prep food for dinner and roaches crawling out of my suitcase when I woke up with an upset stomach in the middle of the night. My husband and I are both in the restaurant business and know unsanitary conditions when we see them. I've never felt compelled to write a bad review in my life, until now. I wish I had bought the insurance so I could get my money back. I've rented from vrbo 9 times and have never encountered anything like this.

Randall and Marissa, Thank you for sharing your beautiful little beach house with us. It truly is Paradise Found. Sam and I are here on our honeymoon and we couldn't have imagined a more romantic spot. We took night walks on the beach under the full moon :) and even found a few little fish out in the reef :) We are off to another house in the mountains for the next week, but I'm sure that we find ourselves back on Moloa'a beach! This was our 27th anniversary of coming to Moloa'a. Both our children came 27 years ago & both joined us this year - w/a husband, a fiance, & a grandson. As Randall points out, it only took us 25 years to start staying in the best house on the bay. Can't remember having better weather. We went to only one other beach the entire vacation. We can't put into words how fortunate we are to have found your Paradise !! Moloaa Bay has worked its magic on us and we are in "love" with it ~ and its powers were soooo strong we almost extended our trip :) We left our hectic lives behind in the bay area and had a relaxing & FUN week here on Kauai. We were able to focus on each other and our 'bun in the oven' - we're four months pregnant:) This is EXACTLY what we needed !! Much Mahalo PS. It was really cool to learn how to swim in our own front yard :)

We came up here, after spending a week down in Poipu, to finish up our vacation. We loved the solitude of the area and the quiet beach. The perfect place to discover the north part of the Island. Thank you Randall and Marissa for making this little studio so comfortable. The views out the window made us feel as if we were on our own cruise ! We are not ready to leave the island, but at least we do so feeling relaxed and refreshed.

We had planned to stay at this studio for 8 nights and after 5 nights the roaches appeared. We then stayed at another condo where we were much happier. We loved the view and the location, but this studio is in dire need of a remodel, i.e. needs new appliances, windows, curtains and the damage from leaks needs to be addressed.The other issue we had was that we didn't receive any keys so we had to take our valuables with us at all times, and it didn't make us feel safe to stay there. The house is 35 years old and is rustic, but the location and view is Epic. We have lived here for 16 years and have never used keys as there has never been any need. Our family of 5 enjoyed our 22 days of bliss. It can not get any better than truly right on the beach. Our family did seem to experience Kauai at its fullest. And then each evening we returned to this amazing place. Hearing the waves all day and night with a refreshing breeze is truly one of God's glimpses into heaven. This house has that authentic island feel to it with its cheery colors, unique stairs, and full windows across its front, facing the ocean. The point here is enjoying God's awesome creation and resting in his peace. So, we played, adventured, and just relaxed. With our blonde family we were also amazed at our ability to tan ! Thanks to Randall, this was so easy, no fuss, just his encouragement to have an unforgetable time. We leave hoping to be blessed again with the opportunity to return soon. Also, note !*! The three kids, 18,15,12, used the upper unit while we enjoyed more soiltude in the studio below.

Thank you for opening your home for our special day. Having a wedding here was awesome and our pictures have turned out awesome. A wedding is something you are supposed to remember always, and thanks to you, ours is double in memories. Just sharing a beer on the beach before the ceremony was great. Oh my...we did something different this time. We did not sightsee or tour, we just laid on the beach and swam and laid on the beach and swam and swam and laid on the beach some more. We fed the chickens, saw turtles and a wild boar (!), and really had a vacation from our hectic lives - we love it here at Moloaa. It's our 5th stay and as soon as we turn down Koolau Rd, our pulse slows & our bodies relax ! Thanks for offering this slice of heaven to all who want to partake - it's been fabulous ! Aloha ! Where to begin ?? Our Kauai vacation was incredible and we are very sad that it has come to an end so soon. From hiking trails through "secret" tunnels, to kayaking up rivers to discover beautiful waterfalls, and views from the skies as helicopters take you soaring above..... To top it all off, we were so fortunate to get to return to our own "beach house" every night and have some down time..... Aloha. This has truely been a honeymoon in Paradise ! We have been ALL over the island & its ALL Beautiful, BUT Moloaa Bay will ALWAYS hold a special place in our hearts ! Our batteries are now fully re-charged & we are gonna go spread the LOVE & LIGHT [ALOHA]!!! Waking up & falling asleep to the sound of rolling ocean waves, lifts ones soul towards Nirvana ! If we [both] could have imagined we would be staying on Gilligans Island beach when we were watching the show as kids..Kinda Neat ! We love the hawaiian culture, and everyone here is so kind and friendly ! The Kalamaku Luau was great !! [a theatrical luau]. The boat ride [Blue Dolphin Charters] along the Napali coast [snorkeling too] was Awesome ! Dolphins, Dolphins, Dolphins !!! You guys are the BEST ! We stayed at 3 places total between Kauai and Oahu, and yours was by far the best equipped. We had everything needed to make our own meals and felt right at home. From the minute we arrived here we knew that we would absolutley love it ! The sound of the waves, sunshine, and sand between our toes has been very theraputic for us. Beautiful beach - house is so warm and we loved it. My sister lives near here and we had her 65th birthday party here and it was great. We had a fantastic honeymoon in Kauai, and loved staying here on beautiful Moloa'a Bay. We saw whales while lying in our bed, and loved our breakfasts on the lanai, but our favorite thing was falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to the sunrise.
