Built as an Ice house and Brewery in 1911, the building became a Cooperage for the Wine and Beer Industry in 1924. As part of General Vallejo's original land grant, we are right next to the state park that bears his name. Biking and hiking trails abound in one direction and one block the other direction is the beautiful Sonoma Plaza with it's shops, restaurants and tasting rooms, our unique and finely appointed suites make it the most extra-ordinary of accommodations.
Staying at the Cooperage is like going back in time to bohemian Europe at the turn-of-the-last century. The two suites we have are exotic and romantic and are appointed with original art, oriental rugs, renaissance style antiques. One has a French style country gourmet kitchen.
Downstairs, in the large stone original Cooperage, your hosts have their studios, art gallery, and fine art print shop. Visitors are welcome to wander in. |
