Cozy and Comfortable

Guest: Tim (Minneapolis)
Date of Stay: 04/02/12 Review Submitted: 04/10/12

My family absolutely loved it. We ranged in age from 5 to 43 and we were so pleased with the place. It has an eclectic comfy beach house feel in parts of the house, while some rooms are simply comfy and warm feeling. The location is great, and the kids loved playing in the yard, and traveling the short walk through the back yard, over the dunes and onto the beach. I had noticed that many of the paintings on the walls had the same style and vibe to them, their very nice and fit into the decor perfectly. It turns out one of the owners painted them. The owner was very kind, accommodating, and quick to respond, ready to help. The separate cottage was a bonus for our smaller family, but it turned out nice for naps, and gives us ideas for a larger group some time in the future. We felt so comfortable and relaxed here, the kids really wished it was our home to get away too whenever we wanted.

Sisters' weekend away

Guest: Carol (Michigan)
Date of Stay: 10/07/11 Review Submitted: 10/12/11

My sisters, a sister-in-law and our grownup daughters spent the weekend at this house and cottage. The property had everything we needed and was spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the private yard and firepit and spent some time on the beautiful sandy beach with a view of the city. (It was especially beautiful at night to see the lights of Duluth.) The house is just a short drive or walk to the shops and restaurants in Canal Park. The owner was very helpful and quick with answers to my questions. I would recommend this property to other girls on a getaway weekend or families looking for a place to stay in Duluth.

Great Family Vacation

Date of Stay: 07/10/10 Review Submitted: 11/30/10

We had two families plus Grandma staying in the house and cottage. Had a great time! Very clean and spacious. Kitchen was well-appointed. Very handy having laundry on-site! A good hike over the dunes and we were right on Lake Superior. Easy access to Canal Park. House is clean, cozy, with wonderful eclectic decor. Beds were comfortable. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Owner response:Thank you Margaret for your warm comments your family is certainly welcome to stay again!

Great location, charming home, beautiful sandy beach!!!

Guest: Heather ... I love Duluth! (Savage, MN)
Date of Stay: 05/28/10 Review Submitted: 06/08/10

We spent 3 nights at this charming beach house and cottage with 10 family members from 3 generations. Grandpa Ron's 70th birthday celebration, and we could not have picked a better place!!!Amazing sandy beach, house is very clean, beautiful decor & artwork, full kitchen (everything you need), games & puzzles, great location (very close to canal park, but far enough away to feel relaxed and at home)! You will just LOVE it!!! Our girls (ages 4 & 7) cannot wait to go back!!! And while you are there... you MUST have dinner at the New Scenic Cafe! It is a 20 min drive up the Northshore... well worth the trip!!!

Park Point House and Cottage #95500 Review

Guest: KL Anonymous (Minneapolis, MN)
Date of Stay: 04/22/10 Review Submitted: 04/30/10

My Wife and I stayed with 2 of our extended family members at this enchanting home! First, the setting reminded me of NE coastal homes with the spacious lots, private sand dunes and wooded waterfront lots. I stay in Duluth often for work in the Canal Park area, yet found myself feeling I was far away from any tourist vibe. At the same time, we enjoyed (a few times) the 15 minute beautiful walk along the Lake Superior coast to the Canal Park attractions. The house and cottage had an "I belong here" feel. It was a clean, well cared for home, with unique and interesting spaces, furnishing and decorating! But you didn't feel like you had to worry about the kids breaking something every second. The owners even had a variety of board games, reading materials and barbecue/firepit supplies. It provided a great mix of intimate spaces and areas to gather! As I write this, I can't wait to go back!! One tip...the house is easy to drive past the first time, so watch the house numbers. The owners are really great to work with and were available to answer specific questions and requests.

We just returned from a week long stay at your house and cottage with our extended family of 13. We had a wonderful time on the beach, around the firepit, enjoying the sites, and playing games at the house on a rainy day. The location is great and the house accommodates us well. Thanks again! We'll be back next year!

This is a fantastic location, only a few blocks from down town. We enjoyed every bit of the house and the cottage. This place is great for larger crowds. The house had everything we needed. We Will always recommend this place to anyone. The owner was very helpful.

Fabulous two days. Best family vacation ever. Two buildings allow flexibility for day naps and for those who do not snooze. My family barely left the house, it was so comfortable. Everything we needed was there. Glorious kitchen with upscale stove and sink. House was beautiful Bathroom in the house had wonderful tub and stonework. The cabin felt like a family cabin that you are coming back year after year. Beds were very comfortable. Nice sized yard. We walked to Canal Park and to the lift bridge to see the ships arriving. We swam 3 times a day. Only a short walk though the dunes to a beautiful, clean beach. I miss it already.

We had a family reunion in early August with 11 people and the Park Point Cottage and guest homes were just great. Very clean and great location. The beach is a short walk through the dunes, reminds me east coast beaches. Fully stocked with everything you would need including firewood. Great place to stay in the Duluth area, we will be back.

What an awesome place. We just spent a week at Park Point House and Duneside- 3 generations and everyone had a great time. The house and cottage are homey, super clean, well-stocked with linens , kitchen supplies and firewood for the firepit. Grandkids loved the beach, playing in the lake and especially watching the ore boats .The decor in the houses are great-loved the Lake Superior motif in the bathrooms. So many sights to see in Duluth and stroll the Canal park area-just a few blocs from house....looking forward to our next stay..just wish Montana was just a little closer to Duluth.

Three generation stayed at your house and cottage in July. We all loved it, wished our stay could have been longer. The house and cottage had everything we needed, was clean and very charming. I have told all my friends at work what a great place it was to stay. My grandson left a toy he had just purchased in Duluth and was left behind. We called the same day, Gary found it and it was returned within two days. Hope to return again.

We loved the accomodations and our stay there was a pleasure. The beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. We loved not having to bring anything just our clothing and food. We do a girls weekend every year, and try new accomodations each year, sometimes we go back again. Would certainly do it again.

We just returned from a great stay at your house and cottage with our extended family. We had a large group of 13 (ages 70yrs to 1yr) and we were very comfortable at your property. We had a great time playing on the beach, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, grilling out, seeing some sites in the area, and just hanging around in the house. No one wanted to leave! We are talking about a trip next year! Thanks!

Fantastic location! House and cottage thoughtfully decorated, modern fixtures in kitchen and baths with rustic appeal throughout. We had a mixed group - toddler to senior and every age in between - everyone was able to relax and enjoy. The beach was a favorite with our teens and the entire family enjoyed cookouts and smores around the firepit in the evenings. The rocker on the screened front porch was perfect for curling up with a good book, the daybed upstairs a quiet spot for a napping toddler, the nearby Lake Walk perfect for a morning run. A new favorite for our family, thank-you Bill!

We had a fun family get together. The house is very comfortable and the cottage is cozy. The lakeshore walk seemed like the East Coast. The kids enjoyed the fire pit and the beach. We will be back next year. Thanks Bill!

My brother, sister and I, and our families (11 people in all) stayed at the "Little Vic." The house was beyond our expectations. Kids had a great time and parents were able to relax and enjoy the lake. We loved this place. We hope we will have the opportunity to stay during our next Duluth visit. Thanks again Bill, as a host you were as wonderful as the Little Vic is beautiful.
