My partner and I had a very nice week stay at your cute, and slightly rustic cabin! I will certainly be coming again and have already recommended it to friends and family. The decks(one off of the living room, and one off of the master bedroom) look divine during summer time. This stay we didn't get to utilize them due to the freezing butt syndrome (winter). But I could see myself waking up with morning tea in hand gazing over the beautiful lake which is literally steps from the cabin. The washer and dryer were a GREAT touch!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We 3 families had a great stay at this cottage. The weather was perfect for our stay and the kids spent all day in the water. I was glad the the water at the edge was shallow enough for our little ones to enjoy and I liked how close the cottage was to the water. My husband and I enjoyed our relaxing paddle boat ride. There was plenty of room for everyone and we had everything we needed. The cottages were very clean and the beds were comfy. Our AT&T and T-Mobile cell phones had service. We hope to return in the near future as the kids keep asking to return.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+.

We went for a weekend getaway with my sister and her husband and their 3 kids and myself, my husband and our 4 kids and had a wonderful time! The kids had a great time playing at the lake, having bonfires and grilling out. The men had a good time fishing and we all enjoyed taking the paddle boat out. We really enjoyed using the guest cottage as well. We all slept so well! It was the perfect getaway from the hectic day to day life of the city. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. We didn't lack for anything. We had the convience of being close to town but had a wonderful getaway experience. We will definitely go back again and would recommend this to anyone!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers.

My first comment would not be year round comfort! The owners of this property were very nice and pleasant, but the VRBO of this cottage are a bit diceiving! I have always had great experiences with VRBO, but you have to make sure and read all the details, before renting. NO tv, OK. NO phone, OK. NO cellular service, OK, but not even a fire extinguisher or a 911 phone line for an emergency! The cottage appeared to be complete with a full kitchen, but certainly not with all the bare necessities, not even a cookie sheet! If you are looking for a weekend getaway, (with no contact with the REAL world), and Mother Nature permits, than this would be the place for you! Just remember, you must have perfect weather conditions, expect nothing fancy (like a matress on a box frame, old mismatched furniture) and you will have a great time.Did you find this review helpful? My lovely friend, Denise, and I stayed at this place for a few days in August 2010. (You'd think that in August, we'd be able to beach it, but it was windy, wet and cold (55-60F) for most of our stay.) No matter. The place is just right for a coupla urbanites with an active German Shepherd. Nice spot to hang out for days, or months. The lake is crystal clear, and when it's quiet at night, you want to take the paddle boat out for a nightcap under the stars. Gwahgeous!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

About the owner: We enjoy this lake and its convenient distance from Duluth- only a half hour drive from our home near Lake Superior. It is also very close to the water's edge and is especially nice for fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle/peddle boating, etc. I was born and raised in this area and have come to appreciate the ease in getting to the North Shore and to the Downtown Duluth areas.
Why the Owner Chose Duluth:
We usually have family get-togethers and
this offers a comfortable gathering place for adults and children- especially from the large deck that is close to the water's edge.
Especially nice to have the extra beds and full bath in the log cabin that is next door to the main dwelling (50 feet away). There is a very gentle slope towards the lake which allows one to launch a boat off alongside the dock as well as ideal for swimming, water skiing, using a pedal boat, rowboat, canoe,
or a kayak.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
It's wonderful to enjoy the quiet, relax on the dock while swishing your feet in the water,
nice to see children and adults playing in the water while grilling on the deck, peddle or paddle a boat around the lake, water ski, canoe, etc.
