I recently stayed with 2 of my siblings at this fabulous cabin. Everything that was stated on the list of furnshings and amenitites were there and much more! I have stayed in a lot of various types of vacation homes and this one here is definitely in my top 2. View was wonderful, loved drinking coffee in the morning ( awesome mugs, just the right size!) I will definitely be returning to this beautiful home and will recommend it to my friends.

Fantastic Thanksgiving!

Our family (parents, 3 grown daughters, son-in-law, and 2 year-old grandaughter) recently returned from spending 4 days, including Thanksgiving, at this wonderful cabin. I hesitate to call it a "cabin" because it was such an elegant home. The pictures on VRBO don't do it justice. Everything was just as described or better. The view was amazing and you could view it all sitting in the living room watching football--what could be better! We wondered if we'd be able to cook a complete Thanksgiving dinner here, but we needn't have worried. The kitchen is completely stocked, even a turkey platter. Everything was clean and well-maintained upon our arrival. We had more than enough towels, pillows, and cleaning supplies for our stay. I had e-mailed the owner several times with questions and his responses were quick and complete. We were very pleased with the whole experience and were able to have a relaxing holiday with family because of it.

We just stayed in this cabin and let me say that the pictures do not do this place justice!! We have stayed in many cabins and this one had the best view by far!!!! You can tell that the owners take great pride in this cabin!!!

Absolutely Gorgeous -Exceeded Expectations

Everything here is even better than described and better than you can imagine. We've rented vacation homes from Maine to Franklin and been vacationing in this particular area for 30+ years. This vacation home was by far the best. The view is unbelievable, full 180 degree of layers and layers of mountains. The home was immaculate, kitchen extremely well stocked and the hot tub fantastic. And, it was peaceful and quiet and private. I couldn't have been more pleased. I could have stayed forever and will definitely return to this gorgeous home.

My family and another family who are friends of ours really enjoyed our time at this cabin a week ago. It was everything we desired in a mountain cabin and more. Lorin was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. We also love the area and will return to experience the Smokies in a different season-perhaps fall-time. I highly recommend the cabin and the area.

Had a wonderful stay. House is very comfortable and the location is stunning. Lots to do in area (rafting, fishing, hiking, antiquing). (Make sure you go to Ms. Lois restaurant in Franklin for a great and inexpensive breakfast.) Close enough to Asheville for easy day trip to Biltmore Estate. Lorin and Dawn were great to work with. No problems at all. Will be back and will be recommending to friends and family!

You will not find a better view in the Smokey's!

We have stayed at many rental homes in the Smokey's, in search of the perfect destination for an eventual vacation home of our own. This house has it all! Unbeatable views, privacy (although there is a neighbor to the left, they are rarely home and don't rent out their house), great decor, plenty of room to spread out and space for the dog and kids to roam without worrying about getting hit by a car. As a previous post mentions, the drive to/from Bryson City is extremely curvy & hilly, so for those who get car sick, try to avoid that trip if possible. Lorin gave us directions to approach the house from the south, which I highly recommend! We found some great hiking trails in the nearby Nantahala Forest, which I learned is different from a National Park and has much more lenient leash restrictions. Finally we didn't have to worry about getting ticketed for having our dog off-leash! For anyone looking to get away from it all, definitely rent this beautiful home!

Smoky Maountain Heaven lives up to its name! This is a wonderful home and the views are spectacular. My husband and I had the most relaxing vacation in years. The description of this home is very accurate but nothing can prepare you for the awesome views. You feel like you are sitting out among the trees. At night the forest outside it alight with fireflys. If you are thinking about renting this home do not hesitate, not only if the home beautiful and comfortable, but the owners are most helpful and want you to have fun and enjoy their little slice of heaven. Thanks for letting us enjoy this wonderful home!!

Very nice accomodations with terrific views. A bit of a drive to town but not excessively so. Easy accessability on paved drive up to home which turns to gravel the last few hundred yards. Landlords are very particular about the upkeep of their home and it shows. Parking area is a little steep but can accomodate two cars easily. Just enter at an angle and you won't bottom out. Great hot tub and wonderful deck. You won't be dissappointed!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The view was beautiful, just what I was looking for when I started my search. 180 degrees of beautiful mountain ranges. Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine was a perfect way to end the day. The home was also beautiful. It is indeed a luxurious log home with plenty of room and lots of windows overlooking the mountains. We really enjoyed touring the area. We traveled to several small towns within an hours drive including Dillsboro, Sylva, Bryson City and Highlands. My favorite was Highlands. The waterfalls were beautiful. We also went horseback riding and canoeing. The owners are very friendly and were helpful with recommendations on places to eat and towns to visit. I loved this trip. One of my favorites. I highly recommend this place to all!

Lorin & Dawn Wow! What a magnificent home you have. Everything in the home was perfect! The hard work that you put into the home is evident everywhere you look. My husband was very impressed. We loved the wood accents in the home and also in the deck railing. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals. The view is spectacular, the best we have ever seen and we have been going to the mountains for about 10 years now. We had all kinds of weather while we were there and the mountains seemed to change before our eyes. We took some gorgeous pictures to show our families, one of which I have as background on my computer. It takes my breath away each time I look at it. Thank you so much for opening up your home to us. We are already looking forward to coming back in October. The mountains will be on fire with the fall colors and we can't wait. This home is exactly what you're looking for if you need an escape from your busy life. It is beautiful, well appointed, comfortable and remote. The pictures and description are accurate and you will not be disappointed if you want to get away from it all. Plan to cook in the gourmet kitchen and plan your meals well as you don't want to have to run back to the store. Better yet--use your imagination with the ingredients you have and create your own feast. Don't forget to bring your favorite beverage and plan to spend many relaxing hours on the deck, in the spa,and communing with nature. The bed was very comfortable and we really appreciated being able to bring our dog. We all slept very well! Beautiful place! P.S. Word from experience--approach the home from Franklin. The road from Bryson City has many tight curves and is not good for anyone with a weak stomach!

Dear Lorin & Dawn, The giant spectacular view that greets the first time visitor to your franklin vacation home is absolutely stunning! It is something that photographs (even good ones like yours) just cannot capture. Despite this, I persisted in taking pictures from the deck at all times of the day, in sun, clouds, fog and rain. The look and mood of the mountains is always changing and always beautiful. During our week here, we traveled hundreds of miles around North carolina through the national forests and parks. The best scenery was always the view from your home, waiting right here for us at the end of the day. The home is attractively furnished, fully equipped and the interior decorating is just right. The kitchen is great. The wall of windows brings the mountain views in to almost every part of the home. I'm even going to miss the bear in the bathroom, making his offering from the roll between his paws. Congratulations on what you have achieved here. You were very smart to realize the potential of this site, and bold enough to commit to a complicated and undoubtedly expensive home construction. This is a special and unforgettable place, and Kathy and I are very happy that we had the opportunity to stay here. Best wishes!

Hi Lorin & Dawn, Just a note to let you know we had a wonderful time at your log home. There aren't words to describe what a beautiful mountain home you have. Every little detail was obviously considered. Your hard work and perseverance truly evolved in to a masterpiece! The panoramic views were breathtaking! I have been in that area at least a half a dozen times in the past several years and nothing comes close to your Smoky Mountain Heaven. We truly feel blessed that you open your home for others to enjoy. The weather was perfect which allowed us to go waterfall seeking, gem mining and whitewater rafting. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversaries. We had a chance to relax, calm ourselves from our hectic lifestyles and soak in the incredible views. WOW!!!!!!!We have never seen a more beautiful 180 degree, unobstructed view of the mountains. Cabin was pristine clean, view from master bedroom was breathtaking.
