Set in the hinterland of Brisbane right in the D'Aquilar ranges with magnificent views of the hills and surrounding bush. The property includes two acres of maintained bush land plus 2 acres of English styles gardens with exotic plantings.
Surrounded by rivers and creeks the area offers quiet bushland walks, cycling and natural swimming. Colleges River Crossing, 5 minutes away offers swimming, canoeing and picnicing; Kholo Gardens, 10 minutes offers walking in Botanic Gardens, picnicking; Lake Manchester offers walking, picnicking and fabulous scenic views; Wivenhoe Dam 20 minutes, offers canoeing, walking and picnicking. For the serious walker, trails across the mountain ridges takes you to the subtropical forests of Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious, taking 5 hours each way. These areas can also be accessed via car about 40 minutes.

About the owner: We purchased the property in 1980 and built the second house in 1996. After retiring in 2004 we started to garden around our original house and since 2005 have opended the 2 acre garden to the public to benefit the Australian Red Cross. In 2012 we decided to holiday let our second house as we love the area.
Why the Owner Chose Brisbane: We present the house how we would like the house to be for our comfort. We travel a lot and understand what people would like if they come for a holiday. We bought the property originally because no trees had been cut down. It was a 'virgin' block. We have left it so and planted gardens around and amongst the trees.
The Unique Benefits at this House: A Home away from home with plenty of space and comfort for a family. It is being away from the 'madding crowd', concrete jungle and noise of a city and yet we are just 30 minutes away from Brisbane. The Birds and wild life love the area as much and we often see wallabies, kangaroos, possums and goannas.
