Why the Owner Chose Packwood
We built this cabin in 2005 in Packwood, one of the most beautiful areas of the country. In summer the beauty of the mountain is indescribable and in winter the skiing at White Pass is great for a family or an expert. We have been coming to the area for 15 years and we love it more and more everytime we visit.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Just the other day 3 cow elk came by with 4 babies, a bald eagle flew by, a fox trotted up the road, the sunset was amazing and there were more stars in the sky than I have ever seen before...and this is all in one day!
Owner's Map of Packwood
We built this first getaway a few years back because we knew that if we were to stay sane in such a busy world that we would need to have a place to go to and bring the kids to just get away from it all. We hope you enjoy this incredible spot!

Mother Visit to the Great Northwest

July 9-10, 2011 visit- We wanted a place central to Mt. St Helens and Mt Rainier because my mother was visiting us for the first time from the east coast. We are a repeat customer and rented the cabin back in 2010 when we had our cousins visit. The cabin is great, there is a fire pit which we toasted marshmallows with our children and made s'mores. All amenities to fit our 5 family members. Hot tub was great and relaxing after a long day driving to the mountains. Beautiful view and area. Went to Northwest trek, then to cabin, next day to see Mt. St Helens and then following day drove back through Paradise and Mt Rainier. Elk always around and visible. Recommende for someone who wants to get away and enjoy the mountains.

I have rented this cabin every summer for the last three years. Meticulously clean, well maintained. Dealing with the owner was a pleasure. Great privacy with a beautiful view of the mountains and valley. And the elk grazing a few feet away... I'm going back soon.

Thank you so much for putting together our reservation at the last minute. Being in a business where my schedule changes almost hourly, the ease and speed with which you set the cabin up for us made the whole experience top notch. The Mountain View Cabin was perfect. The views were incredible—from the surrounding mountains to the elk in the front yard—it was just what the doctor ordered. The furnishings were very comfortable—like walking into a home. I can’t decide what was better—sitting on the deck or in the hot tub—but either way this was by far a great weekend getaway. No more staying in hotels for us….I think we are going to check out the Alpine Chalet next!! Thanks again for great service and a great place to stay….and the hammock was an excellent touch ?

I have stayed at a few of Great Northwest Cabin's rentals and each one has been a wonderful experience. The memories with my wife and kids are priceless. High Quality care and love have gone into these cabins. I would personally recommend to anyone the Mt View Cabin. This cabin is very clean and cozy. The owner takes great lengths to ensure your comfort. We loved the books and info of the area that gives you the rundown of things to do. Great fun!!!

My husband and I came to the mtview cabin it was wonderful it was like having a home in the wilderness but yet close to town 1/4 mile away we went hiking and fishing in the low land lakes and caught silvers, we will be coming back as soon as we can get into the highland lakes .we were 18 miles from whitepass ski resort where we went skiing it was so beautiful. After a long day hiking we came back to the cabin for a hottub with a beautiful view and as we were in the hottub 3 elk came walking in the yard it was great cant wait to come back in the summer.

What a place! Perfect little getaway that offers privacy and seclusion. We spent our honeymoon here and it was peaceful and gorgeous here. Not so isolated that it's creepy, but definitely secluded! Gorgeous views from each window and immaculate inside and out. Not a corner of the place was unclean or untidy. This is a model home, perfect for whatever your vacation ideas: girls weekend, family down time or, as in our case, honeymoon! We received timely and accurate information from the owner in emails, with identical information in a binder they have there (in case you forgot your printed email to refer to for checking out guidelines like we did!). They also have helpful information about things to do and places to go in the area. VERY helpful! No surprises, several opportunities to ask the owners questions and they courteously assist you in whatever needs you have, great or small. Timely responses and many avenues made available to contact them via phone numbers and email. Never a problem! This is the second time I have stayed at a property owned by these folks and it is a pleasure to not have to deal with grumpy owners! My husband and I didn't go very many places on this trip, but he did remark that next time we would make it. We DEFINITELY plan to return to this cabin in the near future. Not only that, but we will make it a plan to stay in each vacation cabin these folks own! Just can't go wrong with all these great things working in your favor to ensure you have the most pleasant stay you can imagine! Thank you so much, we'll be back!

The owners are a special family and this cabin exemplifies their dedication to others. All the ammenities (and more) of home made it difficult to pack up and actually go home. The attention to detail in the decorating of the cabin and the coziness made for a wonderful experience. Add the wood stove and what more could you ask for. The hot tub was clean, temperature perfect, and ready to go. Everything necessary for cooking in the kitchen made it easy to prepare our meals. Nestled in the hills surrounding Mt Rainier the view from the cabin is simply spectacular. This stay made for a very memorable spring break. Thanks so much and we can't want to do it all over again.

This "Mountain View Cabin" has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away, or a longer extended stay! My transaction for this cabin was effortless and the owner responded to my questions in a very timely manner. I was pleased upon arrival to find the property pristinely cleaned and very well maintained. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out and really enjoy ourselves. The beds were comfy, views were breathtaking, and hot tub bubbly and inviting. I would highly recommend this rental to all my friends. In fact, I recommended it to my boss and she is planning to visit soon. Stay here. You won't be disappointed!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind comments. We tried our best to create a place where memories can be made. Do come back again soon! Bob and Sybille

This is my favorite cabin in Packwood! It is so cozy, with all the amenities needed to feel right at home. The views are absolutely stunning, which is why this cabin has become my 1st choice when planning a visit to Packwood. Enjoyed watching the elk, the beautiful sunsets & star-filled skies from the deck. I love that it is so close to White Pass. Went for a half day of skiing with blue skies, sunshine & no wind. Wonderful evenings relaxing in the toasty warmth & ambience that the wood-burning stove provides. This was one of my best trips yet. Can't wait till I can come back again. Thanks!
Owner response:It is so nice to have great repeat customers like yourself. It is a pleasure serving you and it is the joy of our heart when people can unwind and relax at our cabin. We hope to see you again soon! Bob and Sybille
