Mother Visit to the Great Northwest

Guest: Goldenbears7 (Bothell, WA)
Date of Stay: 07/09/11 Review Submitted: 07/27/11

July 9-10, 2011 visit- We wanted a place central to Mt. St Helens and Mt Rainier because my mother was visiting us for the first time from the east coast. We are a repeat customer and rented the cabin back in 2010 when we had our cousins visit. The cabin is great, there is a fire pit which we toasted marshmallows with our children and made s'mores. All amenities to fit our 5 family members. Hot tub was great and relaxing after a long day driving to the mountains. Beautiful view and area. Went to Northwest trek, then to cabin, next day to see Mt. St Helens and then following day drove back through Paradise and Mt Rainier. Elk always around and visible. Recommende for someone who wants to get away and enjoy the mountains.

Mountainview cabin was perfect

Guest: Nate (Onalaska, Wa.)
Date of Stay: 06/03/11 Review Submitted: 06/06/11

Thank you so much for putting together our reservation at the last minute. Being in a business where my schedule changes almost hourly, the ease and speed with which you set the cabin up for us made the whole experience top notch. The Mountain View Cabin was perfect. The views were incredible—from the surrounding mountains to the elk in the front yard—it was just what the doctor ordered. The furnishings were very comfortable—like walking into a home. I can’t decide what was better—sitting on the deck or in the hot tub—but either way this was by far a great weekend getaway. No more staying in hotels for us….I think we are going to check out the Alpine Chalet next!! Thanks again for great service and a great place to stay….and the hammock was an excellent touch ?

The best vacation dollars ever spent!

Guest: Happy bride (Gresham, OR)
Date of Stay: 03/27/11 Review Submitted: 04/02/11

What a place! Perfect little getaway that offers privacy and seclusion. We spent our honeymoon here and it was peaceful and gorgeous here. Not so isolated that it's creepy, but definitely secluded! Gorgeous views from each window and immaculate inside and out. Not a corner of the place was unclean or untidy. This is a model home, perfect for whatever your vacation ideas: girls weekend, family down time or, as in our case, honeymoon! We received timely and accurate information from the owner in emails, with identical information in a binder they have there (in case you forgot your printed email to refer to for checking out guidelines like we did!). They also have helpful information about things to do and places to go in the area. VERY helpful! No surprises, several opportunities to ask the owners questions and they courteously assist you in whatever needs you have, great or small. Timely responses and many avenues made available to contact them via phone numbers and email. Never a problem! This is the second time I have stayed at a property owned by these folks and it is a pleasure to not have to deal with grumpy owners! My husband and I didn't go very many places on this trip, but he did remark that next time we would make it. We DEFINITELY plan to return to this cabin in the near future. Not only that, but we will make it a plan to stay in each vacation cabin these folks own! Just can't go wrong with all these great things working in your favor to ensure you have the most pleasant stay you can imagine! Thank you so much, we'll be back!

Simply a wonderful and relaxing cabin experience

Guest: Mark (Gresham, Or)
Date of Stay: 03/23/11 Review Submitted: 03/29/11

The owners are a special family and this cabin exemplifies their dedication to others. All the ammenities (and more) of home made it difficult to pack up and actually go home. The attention to detail in the decorating of the cabin and the coziness made for a wonderful experience. Add the wood stove and what more could you ask for. The hot tub was clean, temperature perfect, and ready to go. Everything necessary for cooking in the kitchen made it easy to prepare our meals. Nestled in the hills surrounding Mt Rainier the view from the cabin is simply spectacular. This stay made for a very memorable spring break. Thanks so much and we can't want to do it all over again.

We have finally found our "Home Away From Home"!

Guest: Amanda (Oregon)
Date of Stay: 03/23/11 Review Submitted: 03/29/11

This "Mountain View Cabin" has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away, or a longer extended stay! My transaction for this cabin was effortless and the owner responded to my questions in a very timely manner. I was pleased upon arrival to find the property pristinely cleaned and very well maintained. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out and really enjoy ourselves. The beds were comfy, views were breathtaking, and hot tub bubbly and inviting. I would highly recommend this rental to all my friends. In fact, I recommended it to my boss and she is planning to visit soon. Stay here. You won't be disappointed!

Owner response:Thanks for the kind comments. We tried our best to create a place where memories can be made. Do come back again soon! Bob and Sybille

My husband and I came back to the cabin for a second time with a last minute decision for some R&R. We needed a getaway to relax from our busy lives and Grandma watched our one year old son so we could rest. We went sledding at White Pass Ski Area. We found a spot just for the two of us and it was sunny blue skies, absolutely beautiful. Our last run we went down together and totally wiped out. We're leaving with only a few scrapes and bruises, thank God. The highlights of our stay was watching eagles from the front deck, soaking in the hot tub and starring at the stars. We watched movies on the new flat screen TV and they have a good selection of classics and new movies and we lit a fire in the woodstove. It is the perfect setting for a romantic time for any couple, we recommend it. We cooked some great meals in the fully equipped kitchen, slept good on the comfy bed and totally relaxed. We also love just taking a walk on the property. The view of the mountains and town are really inspiring. If you hike up the driveway to the other cabins above the views of Mt Rainier are stunning. We are looking forward to coming back again next year as we would love to make this a tradition in this pristine place. Thanks again, Bob and Sybille, we had a great time. You both have done a fantastic job in building and equipping your cabins. We have and will continue to recommend your properties to all our friends. You guys are so easy to work with and your website is the best and easiest to use. The pictures do not give this place justice. Shane and Kaia

My family had a great time staying in your cabin. We came up here for the White Pass Winter Carnival weekend and had so much fun. We wanted to get our 4 year old on skis. He did okay. He lasted about 30 minutes. Thanks for the quiet and well stocked cabin. This is our 4th time renting this cabin and it has truley become a home away from home! Kennewick, WA

My husband brought me up here for an early Valentines Day surprise. It was snowing when we left Puyallup (WA) and didn't stop until late Tuesday night. Thankfully we had our Subaru. It was such a relaxing time. We got to see the elk right outside the slider. If you are looking for good food Cruisers is awesome from pizza to burgers. We will be back for some R&R again soon.

This is my favorite cabin in Packwood! It is so cozy, with all the amenities needed to feel right at home. The views are absolutely stunning, which is why this cabin has become my 1st choice when planning a visit to Packwood. Enjoyed watching the elk, the beautiful sunsets & star-filled skies from the deck. I love that it is so close to White Pass. Went for a half day of skiing with blue skies, sunshine & no wind. Wonderful evenings relaxing in the toasty warmth & ambience that the wood-burning stove provides. This was one of my best trips yet. Can't wait till I can come back again. Thanks!

Owner response:It is so nice to have great repeat customers like yourself. It is a pleasure serving you and it is the joy of our heart when people can unwind and relax at our cabin. We hope to see you again soon! Bob and Sybille

I was looking forward to some time with my husband. He is a long haul trucker and is gone a lot. I found this cabin and it was the perfect place for us. We had some snow on the ground and with the blue sky it was so pretty. And we got to see elk too! This place was so great for us in all ways. The caretaker (Jodi) is doing an amazing job, the place is so clean and we got to talk with her, she is a very nice lady!

My husband and I came to the mtview cabin it was wonderful it was like having a home in the wilderness but yet close to town 1/4 mile away we went hiking and fishing in the low land lakes and caught silvers, we will be coming back as soon as we can get into the highland lakes .we were 18 miles from whitepass ski resort where we went skiing it was so beautiful. After a long day hiking we came back to the cabin for a hottub with a beautiful view and as we were in the hottub 3 elk came walking in the yard it was great cant wait to come back in the summer.

We're here to celebrate both of our birthdays. Within 15 minutes of arriving, we saw 7 elk. During our stay we drove highway 12, "White Pass Scenic Byway" all the way to Naches. Well worth the drive to see some gorgeous mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. Also went to Mt Rainier National Park, Stevens Canyon entrance. Did an easy hike to Grove of the Patriachs which included crossing a suspension bridge. Fun for all ages~very comfortable and realxing here~just what we needed! Thanks, Steve and Mary

We, from the Netherlands, couldn't ever imagine seeing such amount of snow as we have seen here (on Mt Rainier). We came here to hike Mt Rainier, but without snow shoes that was not possible. The lower trails however were doable. The scenery was fantastic and we loved sitting on the porch in the evening. The weather was also fantastic. We loved seeing the elk in the backyard. Thank you we had a nice time!

We hiked Mt Rainier on a sunny hot Saturday. Steve and Thomas went to Camp Muir and we made it to Panorama Point. The Mt was in all it's glory. Sunday we drove to Windy Ridge on Mt St Helens and the scene of volcanic destruction was awesome. This is our 4th visit to Mt Rainier and our first stay in Packwood. We enjoyed the quiet setting and modern fixtures to spend quality time together. I especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen and the hot tub to soak sore muscles.
