Very Nice, very clean Beach House. The house is right on the Beach with porches overlooking the Beach on both levels. We've rented Beach houses before & this was by far the cleanest (clearly regularly professionally cleaned as on the ocean is tough on properties). We really enjoyed the area, particularly Cape San Blas where we did a sunset cruise, horseback riding on the Beach & rented a Kayak for the week (all reasonably priced). Local restaurants are affordable/excellent & Mary's recommendations are spot on (who'd have thought great Mexican food at the beach). Wireless had enough band with for me to connect to my work servers all week with no problems. You can't go wrong with this house!

We spent Thanksgiving weekend here and spent almost the entire time on the fabulous porch. We had a great advantage to enjoy the beautiful Fall sunsets. The house is so comfortable, when we weren't on the porch we were all gathered around the big dining table playing games. Perfect vacation house for family and friends!!! We all hope to stay there again.

What a wonderful week spent at this beautiful home. Cool beaches blowing across the expansive porches; wonderful rocking chairs to view the beautiful beach from; it can't get better than this! Owners could not have been more accomodating. The house is very well equipped, exceptionally clean, and so comfortable. Walk down the steps from the porch and the Gulf waits for you. The boardwalk to the beach makes everything easier. Can't imagine a more relaxing location to spend a vacation. We stayed in one half of the house, but the entire home would be a wonderful site for an extended family vacation. We really enjoyed strolling through Port St. Joe and riding down Highway 98 to enjoy the views. Dinner at the Sunset Coastal Grill was magnificent. We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and good food of Killer Seafood and the The Fish House. Thank you so much to our hosts for sharing this beautiful home. We would highly recommend this house to anyone considering a gulf vacation.

We have four different families that go on trips together each year usually to a new location. This year we let the kids decide and they said Florida. We grownups were not sure because of the news of the oil spill but then we find this place that seem just right for all of us and the owner promised our money back if there was oil. So we went and are we glad we did. Everybody from adults to teenagers agreed it was one of our best trips ever. The house was perfect for all 14 and everybody ended up with a bed. No blowups. The way the house is set up the kids got one side of the house, the grownups got the other. Perfect. The house had everything we needed including double of many things. The adults wanted a place where we could have some space, in the house and on the beach and this fit the bill for both. There is a huge space between houses and not a bunch of condos so we had a whole section of beach just steps from our porch. Speaking of the porch us old folks loved sitting in the rocking chairs with a cool beverage and just talking when we needed a break from the sun and sand. We enjoyed the house so much we only went out to eat twice, once in Mexico Beach and the other in Apalachicola, which was a quick drive away. We would recommend visiting there for the day. We loved it. We swam, tanned, fixed great meals, went fishing, rode bikes, played games, even had a dad vs son basketball game at the nearby local park - the sons won but not easily. But everyone agreed the best part of the trip was in the evening as the sun was sitting. We all gathered on the beach to watch the sun go down, then we would start us a little fire and set and talk and enjoy the company of one another as we have been doing for the last 25 years. It was awesome. We did a lot of cooking and the grocery stores are far and few in this area so keep that in mind when making plans. That was the only thing that even come close to a problem in our week stay. Our hosts could not have been nicer. Ms. Mary answered all of our dumb questions, all 1001 of them, gave us recommendations when we ask and even sent the hubby to replace some light bulbs for us. She was a true pleasure to work with. As I said at the beginning we don't normally go back to the same place twice but everyone thinks this place should be the exception to the rule. Not sure when but Ms. Mary hopefully one day soon you will see us again.

We loved this large, extremely comfortable oceanfront as didn't want our week to end. Mrs. Gibson was very helpful w/ suggestions and everyone had a wonderful family-reunion type vacation. We liked the fact that the house is in a quiet beach town. The house contains everything you need and is very roomy but the porches were the best amenitities! Thank you for a most enjoyable vacation.

My family and I (14 people) spent a wonderful week at this beautiful house. The beaches were clean and the water was great! The house was comfortable, huge, clean and I would spend every summer here! Mary was excellent and only a phone call away if you needed anything.

Thanks, Mary for providing such a great place. Everyone loved it and want to come back again. There's a marvelous, peaceful aura in your property there. Can't be just the marvelous setting. Must also come from the care you give it. Marty

My family and I have been here several times and we keep coming back because it is beautiful. The beachhouse has plenty of room for a whole family and provides quick access to places to shop and eat. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is the most beautiful view of the gulf ,in my opinion. The rooms are very spacious, and living area is great! We were down just recently for my sister's wedding,10 adults,to younger children, and my grandson. We had so much fun, and the view is just breath-taking.This beach house is like having your own little island to yourself, and I would recommend it to anyone with a large family. And I must tell you about the large wrap around porch, filled with the most comfortable rocking chairs in the world.Just sit out there for a while, and rock all troubles away. Have stayed here on numerous occasions and always have a blast. Beautiful view, enough room for you to invite your whole family and the enjoyment of rocking on the porch and watching the sunset or the kids play on the beach. It is fabulous.

I brought sixteen teenagers to this house for a youth group retreat. We stayed for six nights and had perfect weather the whole time! This house is great for kids because it is hard to break. Also, the house being right on the Gulf is great so that they don't have to cross the street. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the beach was, how friendly the locals were and how much closer things were to the house. We spent one day at Mexico Beach, one day at the state park (a must)...and the rest of the days on our stretch of beach in front of the house. We cooked most meals (for nineteen) in the house, but did enjoy the local restaurants in Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe. The two large decks were great for drying off life jackets, propping boats and rafts and lathering on sunscreen. There really isn't any under toe or rip tide on this stretch of the shore. (Different story at the state park, where I didn’t let them go beyond the sand bar). This enabled the teens to row out to get up-close-and-personal with the daily dolphin visitors. It’s wild that the water is warm enough in mid-March to swim. I will definitely return again!

We are a family of 22 who have vacationed on the beach together for the past 15 years and this house was by far the best house EVER!! The pictures definitely do not do justice. The beach is just right outside your steps and the porches with access to the rooms upstairs were awesome!! The bedrooms are huge and the layout is really awesome. Mrs. Gibson is really a sweet person and a great person to rent from. This is truly the best beach house out there and we certainly hope to be back!!

We stayed in the Gibson duplex in June 2008 and loved it! I had most of my family there (10 of us) and we thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness, especially the porches that extend from one end of the house to the other. Having 2 living rooms and kitchens was a blessing, especially with 2 grandbabies having to feed during certain times of the day and night. We are reserving it again next year!

What a wonderful week for our family of 16-- 8 adults and 8 children! Everyone said, "Great house!" Well equipped and furnished, lots of room for everyone! The beach and the access to it were incredible! The front porch with the rockers were well used! Everyone was asking, "Can we come back here, again?"

We had a family reunion here with 19 people and the house was perfect for us. All the rooms were actually larger than they look in the pictures. The kitchens were well stocked, and the porches were fabulous! Beautiful sunsets! You couldn't ask for a better location....just steps from the quiet beach, and just a short drive to stores. The owners are very nice people and we enjoyed all their suggestions. We were extremely satisfied with this house and would recommend it to anyone. We wish we could come every year, but it's hard to get this group together, so we're going to try to come back to this house in two years.

Beautiful place, beautiful waters, beautiful skies, white sands, and pretty house to vacation in. The house is roomy and has all conveniences, the beach is right down the stairs, and the porch is great for watching sunsets in my hammock. Our group has gone back several weekends and always had wonderful times there.

I stayed at this beach front home with friends several times and love it. The beach access is perfect, the location fabulous (almost alone on this part of the beach), and the home itself is so spacious, well-equipped, and extremely clean. There's plenty of space to be away from your crowd if you like or to be comfortable together in the large great living room. I especially like the deck facing the ocean for morning coffee and afternoon drinks. The owners are also quite accomodating and great to rent from. It's a special beach home at a very beautiful beach!

This is one of our favorite beach houses in Florida for the past 20 or so years. The view toward the Gulf faces west across the St. Joe Bay, rare on the Gulf where most views are south, which makes cocktails on the 2 huge decks mandatory for the sunsets. If you are up early, the beach is nearly deserted, and the surf very quiet and smooth, nice for walks. The owners are local, and the upkeep and maintenance are up-to-date; it was newly painted this spring. With both sides open on the main floor, you have the luxury of two complete kitchens, which is wonderful for large groups, especially when loads of kids are in attendance. Enjoy.

My 3 brothers join me every year during the week before the 4th of July at this wonderful beach front home. The layout is excellent...every room has access to the beach front porches where we spend most of our time rocking, dining and planning what we will dine on next. The pocket doors that divide the house get pulled late in the evening and our party is split between the behavin' and the misbehavin'. The behavers always bed down earlier than the misbehavers the privacy those doors provide have kept my side out of a whole lot of trouble every year. What wonderful memories our crowd has made at the Gibson House. The beaches are excellent with an expanse of shallow water for the little ones to splash in while Grandma watches them from the covered porch. If you are lucky enough to get a week in the summer the owners will let you secure the same week for the following year before you depart. Be sure you do just that or it will not be there when you get home and call back. Grab this one if you can and start a great tradition like the Rich's did 7 years ago.

On my many visits to this area, I have found that this house is situated perfectly for numerous activities, especially "doing nothing", my favorite vacation activity. Restaurants are great both in Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe. The beach is never crowded, the landlords are extremely helpful and knowledgable of the area, and the whole coast is laid back and beautiful. The house is fantastic, even with loads of people in it. Highly recommended!
